Corsair is one of the best known brands in the PC market, and Legit Reviews got the opportunity to take a tour of their 64,000 square foot headquarters in California. Featuring a store with display units everywhere, a dedicated comic department, an impressive LAN gaming center and even a full bar.

Amazing office for sure. I wish that Legit Reviews got some pictures of the R&D and testing areas though and not just the more public spaces. I also hope that 20 person DRAM procurement meeting went well, we need it right now.

Corsair has various departments at their office and it is easy to forget just how many markets Corsair is involved in, but just to give an idea, I walked by one meeting involving DRAM procurement that had twenty people in it, alone. It’s crazy to think how many people are involved in bringing us the computer peripherals and components we use and how much planning goes into making these products.

That tiny guy from OC3D recently did a video tour of there - really impressive stuff. Their PSU 'oven' was interesting to see.

Does that mean their PSUs aren't going to be complete crap anymore? (Still annoyed one of their faulty PSUs fried multiple MBs and GPUs that I have to RMA and pay for shipping)

I'm not sure, but I don't think the oven was a new purchase. So, no, there will probably be some crappy units out there :-p (I'm currently waiting on an RMA for a CX750M myself).

Neat. I wonder what it would be like to work there... but since it's in bay area / San Jose... I'd have to make $200k a year to afford an apartment within an hour of work.

LOL I just pulled up Zillow out of curiousity..... holy cow it is out of control. Look at this awesome 840sq ft shithole featuring 1 bedroom AND a bathroom! Sweet! Only $800k

Who takes a picture of a house to post on Zillow with someone in it??

By no means going to try to defend them against anyone's bad experiences but the PSU's I've used have done well for me over the years. I'm all too aware how a large company with many product lines can have a large spectrum of quality issues.

I've still got a 1200watt 80+ gold running in my x79 build. That thing has been running for over seven years now, in 2 builds starting with 2600k/560TI SLI/2 raids then 970OC SLI, then to the x79 4930k w/ 970OC SLI + 780OC(physX), 3 raids and now a little simpler with 1080OC SLI and asst SSD's/HHD's. I'm sure I just got lucky but its been an awesome ride. When I re-built my 2600k rig I put another in it around 2-3 years ago and that thing runs 5-10 hours a day.

edit:Ironically I had to look at my signature for the correct specs on the PSU. Yeah, I'm getting old.

I did meander over to OC3D to look at some of the tour. I find myself wondering. In what sub-subterranean cavern to you have to be in at this building with countless pc's/display's, etc. putting out significant amounts of heat that you dress for a blizzard?

I generally really like Corsair products, but their obsession with flashing LED's is maddening.

I never understand the poor way they manage their co. during their SSD crisis, that people can still put up w/ this co. Hundreds of thousands of clients, including myself, posting thousands of mesg. on their forums, complaining their PC can't see their Corsair SSD during boot up. They refuse to answer email. And their 1-800 no. is an answering machine, noone ever pick up. I never got the RMA thru.

And it's not just their SSD. Recently I try back their Obsidian PC case, guess what? their front panel wiring cables (going back to the motherboard) are all black. You would think they heard of something called "color". How many decades have electricians using different color to differentiate different wiring for its purpose?

Their RMA pipeline is a nightmare. I've had to RMA a few Corsair PSU's that cut out intermittently; 2+ weeks ago since they took delivery of my defective PSU's and no activity, no updates to the ticket, just stuck in limbo. 7 phonecalls and one hand doesn't know what the other is doing because their "customer service" is in India, and they have no apparent visibility of what's going on at Corsair California.

Contrast that to EVGA's RMA process experienced last week on a bad GPU. I call, describe symptoms, 30 seconds later I have an RMA#. I ship my defective GPU on Monday, they receive it on Tuesday and ship the replacement same day, I receive the replacement Wednesday. Less than >48 hours< from RMA request to the replacement in my hands. And that was a standard RMA, not advance-replacement. From now on, only EVGA GPU's and PSU's for my money.

Anecdotal, but perception is reality. Very unlikely I buy Corsair branded anything again.

and I never understand why so many of those magazine's PC case build, has a Corsair PSU on it. For that matter, surely they are OEM from someone else? Corsair is not power supply manufauturing co. to begin with. I would never buy anything from them again. In fact, the only reason I bought that case, is that I thought what could go wrong w/ a piece of metal

All these Corsair [H]aters are just jealous of my rockin' RGB Corsair mechanical keyboards. Rainbow bursts, baby, rainbow bursts. ;)

Seriously, I love 'em; A K90(or 95?) and K70. They feel good, they look good, the software is easy to use (and bling can have a place), and the CherryMX switches are da bomb.

I've got a Corsair AIO in one of my rigs. It works well.

For power supplies, Seasonic stole my heart years ago. I will not be dissuaded from going Seasonic.

You're not the only one. This guy spent $7K on his PC, brand new Corsair PSU, dead. He has 1.6 million subscriber

Custom computer with cutting edge parts: $7,000

The Lambo to get the missing screws: $150,000

That look on his face as the rig failed to turn on... Priceless.

For sure, the PSU's are manufactured by others and re-labeled with the Corsair badge. Many times, companies like Corsair do the design and specifications and have a manufacturer build it and label it for them. I have had many Corsair power supplies over the years. I'd say at least 25% of them have failed and needed to be exchanged.

well, at least 25% failure is better than their SSD crisis

that guy paid someone to film his video, so that someone has to go inside his car. So how could he not anticipate that the case won't fit the trunk? Lambo's trunk can't fit anything except a woman's purse. Surely he knows that on day 1.
