The Sun is reporting that unsolicited packages from Amazon are showing up at homes around the US and Canada containing sex toys, and Amazon doesn't know why or how to stop it. A spokesperson told The Sun in a statement: "We are investigating inquiries from consumers who have received unsolicited packages as this would violate our policies. We have confirmed the sellers involved did not receive names or shipping addresses from Amazon. We remove sellers in violation of our policies, withhold payments, and work with law enforcement to take appropriate action."

Kind of odd that Amazon can't figure out who is placing these orders. If you happen to have a random vibrating package on your front porch you are not alone, Mike and Kelly Gallivan, a Boston couple, claimed to have received 25 Amazon items in total since October.

That's what happened to Nikki. She told The Daily Beast that when she originally received a $25 sex toy in the post she thought there'd been a mix-up. She'd bought some mascara from the shopping site that hadn't arrived yet.

I hope I get a free butt plug

“At first I believed it to be a mistake,” she said. "I looked [the sex toy] up, and it’s $25, which is sort of substantial. It seems so personal.”

Huh? If she found out it was $9.99 she'd just shrug and ignore it?

Weed, sex toys or both? I think amazon has quite the strategy of promoting itself as an ultra-progressive retailer!

Where the hell is the hidden checkbox?!

Hackers with more of a sense of humor rather than just trying to cause immense harm?

Isn't that a part of a fake review scam?

The sex toy manufacturer creates a fake order for their product using a gift card and ships it to a random US address, then leaves a glowing review of their own product.

$25 for a decent toy is pretty low lol. They must be new at this. Maybe not him since they keep "mysteriously" showing up lol, but she has no clue how expensive they can get lol

Old story. And it's not only sex toys. It's all kinds of junk. This hit the media in Canada three weeks ago.

But there is an explanation from Amazon and the RCMP. It's a marketing ploy.

RCMP Const. Darryl Waruk took on the case. According to his findings, the items are coming from distributors in China who sell their wares on Amazon.

He says Amazon's law enforcement support department told him the Chinese companies are sending their goods to Canadian university student unions as a marketing tactic.

"It's just a way of companies getting their product out there and showing a demand for their product," Waruk said.

He says Amazon told him this was "a normal trade practice," and the constable ended his investigation after being assured no criminality was involved.

I was hoping that Amazon's Alexa was getting smart enough to know when a couple needed some hentai, or a dragon butt plug or something. That would be cool.

Me: "Alexa, I just received a package of water-based lubricant and some plastic fruit. Do you know anything about this?"

Alexa: "Well, you spent 8 hours playing 'Tokyo School Life' last night, so I ordered them for you."

I know the technology is there. Every time I start to type anything in a URL, Chrome immediately fills it in with "www.pornhub.c0m", and I think to myself, "How in the hell does Chrome know that?"

This was the funniest shit I've read all day.

Just googled dragon butt plug. It's like I'm seeing a whole new world for the first time.

Dragon butt plugs are not as cool as the Michael Vick doggy chew toy.

P.S. Not that I would ever spend time with a squeaky Michael Vick chew toy ... as much as my dog does.

They said the matrix wasn't perfect. They. Lied.

Lol, try googling that then clicking on the first link to Amazon. Once there, select all 4 star or better products, then read the Q&A and reviews for a few; e.g.:

Question: Can it be used while charging?
Answer: Hi, please don‘t turn it on while it's charging, it can damage the battery.:)

Isn't it also to be able to post verified reviews?

My current feeling is it is someone testing a hacking method. They are breaking the system somehow and mailing out packages to people which may look like a prank but it's systematic testing.

Did someone order a rectal computer?
(I'd link it to on youtube, but i'm somewhat afraid of the repercussions...)
