Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Going to wait for other folks to play this one first.

It has the potential to be good - But the combat videos looked pretty janky to me. A lot of aspects seem like they will be fairly borked on release.

Definitely waiting for reviews since if it turns out to be good I am getting the GoG version that won't be released till the 27th.

The game did not load until late, so only a few impressions. So far I like like it. It is not much of a hand holding type game. More of an explore and discover. Save game system is annoying. I think you need scnapps or some item to save, which I don't have, resulting in losing progress back to the beginning. The game also has some strange systems that will take getting used to. Example, sword fighting and lock picking. The story, historical also seems pretty good.

Game is very very demanding. Max settings at 3440x1440 is getting me 40 to 55fps on a Titan Xp at 2000mhz

Does it look good? Probably needs optimization and tweaking. Have yet to hear any complaints about bugs or stability. Good sign.

I generally hate check point save systems but I wish they would have increased when you automatically save. I get the devs want to make saves "immersive", with the schnapps (which you craft/maybe buy), or having to sleep to save the game manually.

I've only made it through about 20 minutes, or how ever long that intital intro part is so I cannot get a good handle on performe, I'll report back later.

Oddly enough I appear to have caught the plague and will have to take a sick day.

Game looks amazing and the writing from what I've played so far is impressive. Thoroughly enjoying it

I wonder if that is because they want to get all of the initial hotfixes out of the way that are usually expected before dealing with GOG's update system? This game is just using Steam DRM right?

I don't have the gusto to play it right now was pushing a whole lot full of carts last night good exercise but the shoes wear out.

I started the game to check it out opened a door from the starting point game feels like a Ultima Ascension game the opening music was top notch on par with Everquest 2.
Very realistic looking character models are not that realistic but the game feels different from The Witcher 3 for sure.
Real nice ambient music they must of spent some time on that alone.

Not sure of the combat ect.. didn't get that far.

Far and away the lead consensus complaints I'm gathering are: Optimization issues and save system needs serious refinement. The lockpick system could use some help, too.

^^ For something like this game coming from an Indie group... that's not a bad start all told folks.

Yeah. Looking good. Smelling like a solid game to me. Going to get it eventually. I wonder if they allow for mods? Go all skyrimmy on that sucker.

Still need to sit down and watch a solid gameplay video. The combat, namely, along with many other core gameplay mechanics seems like it requires too much work, frankly.

I've only played a few hours so far, but or me it's got the same issues as the beta but they're just not as bad. I'm running it on a stock Ryzen 1700, a factory OC'd RX580 with 8GB of Vram, 16GB of DDR4 at 3200Mhz and a 850 Evo SSD.

Issues:

1. Optimisation still. Yeh it's a lot better, but at 2560x1440 I've got all draw distances on what the game defaulted them too and ll other settings on high, bar Shadows and Shaders which are on Medium (Doing that gave me an extra 10fps roughly while the other settings on Medium didn't seem to change anything). I've also got textures on Ultra because they didn't seem to affect framerate. I'm getting around 50fps give or take 5 in most scenarios.

2. Bugs. Nothing that's bothered me too much yet, but I did have to load a save because a mission bugged out as far as I could tell.

3. Input lag. I'm feeling the input lag when using the mouse even when I'm getting around 60fps or more. It's more than I'm ok with but I'm playing with a controller so it doesn't really bother me in that situation.

Aside from those, I love the game so far.

I love the save system because it makes you carefully decide and plan what you'll do before going into a situation. I miss this about older games. That said, you can just brew or buy saviour shnapps and carry a load with you so you can save when you want if it bothers you.

Combat is pretty cool and I knew what to expect from following the games for years and playing the beta. But to be fair, it does need some polish and I'm pretty sure it'll get it as the devs have always seemed decent to me.

Voice acting is a mixed bag. Some is great, some is just ok. Nothing throws me off too much though. Cut-scenes are cool too.

The world is beautiful and I love wondering around it just looking at things and enjoying the atmosphere.

This isn't a fantasy game like TES. This is aiming more for historical accuracy and I love it for that (I love TES also!).

The systems that govern stealth and all these other mechanics that determine how people interact with you seem really cool so far. I love the philosophy this game has about those things. The ways these play into the way you tackle quests is awesome. And on that note, the quests are great so far! Nothing has felt like it's too boring and generic.

Still, it's early days. After another 10 hours or so I think I'll be able to give a better opinion. I'm totally aware of the honeymoon period with games..

Edit. Actually, input lag isn't as bad as I thought. Realised my monitor settings got changed and I didn't realise before. Still, I can feel it a bit. I also forgot to mention I'm on the 18.2.2 drivers for the RX580 which are the current latest and supposed to improve this game's performance.

I'm enjoying it.

Running 3440 x 1440p and definitely not getting a constant 60 fps on Ultra. Getting low to mid 40's at some parts. Hoping they fix the optimization.

Also noticed a few glitches here and there.

Other than that, it's awesome so far.

Got SLi working!! Using Ryse Son of Rome Profile. 70% utilization, 50+fps @ 3440x1440 max settings. This is more like it! Running 2 Titan Xp's @ 2050MHz Core, 12GHz memory.

Compatibility bits: 0x080040F5

Side note: be sure to change the game to full screen mode when alt-tabbing out of it. It seems to change the setting to borderless mode which hurts performance.

from what I've been reading the game seems pretty divisive...sounds like a diamond in the rough...good game but tons of bugs and the realism might be a bit too real where gameplay becomes less fun because of it...combat in particular sounds overly complicated

with the combat system they're using wouldn't it have made more sense to use 3rd person (like Dark Souls)?

So far, this game has captivated me a couple of hours in. It looks great, I love the realism, and I haven't run into any bugs yet.

I haven't encountered any bugs yet either. I'm absolutely loving the story in this game. The writing really is fantastic. I love the real life history in the game too

Is anyone finding (especially the combat, but also general play) easier with keyboard+mouse vs controller? I just started out and have gotten into a single fistfight (it seems that the "up"/head point of the star is the only non-darkened-direction during a fistfight? My enemy seems to also have some sort of arm-bar hold or a knee to the face, but maybe I've not unlocked those yet) and I've not had a very good experience figuring out when/how to block, target the "correct" areas, attack etc.. I've heard from some that controller use is actually easier thanks to the way combat works - is this true?

I've been impressed by the cutscenes and voice acting so far. They might not be oscar-winning performances, but they're a vast improvement over Bethesda's drama school robots. Similar in style to The Witcher 3 in that department, which is high praise.

I like it! It's going to only evolve from here on out. I've actually been able to mess around in a Thief like fashion just a little bit but I've just started out and I'm a complete scrub. No egregious issues. I'm flat out amazed at some of what I'm seeing and hearing for an "indie title." The realism isn't over the top and honestly? If I really get in over my head that's what a trainer is for if all else fails. It's not going to stop me from enjoying a lot of good here as others have already indicated in here.

I'm definitely sticking with KBM for this.

So after clocking in 9 hours (cough) I really like it. The combat gets better once you get some instruction and do it a few times, and so far the save system has made me play a bit more cautiously, which I thing is making the game a bit more fun, it also is not that bad assuming you remember to sleep in a bed every so often. There is no room for Ramboing in pretty much any situation.

I have only ran into one bug, which is a graphic glitch, that I believe has to do with fog or something, as it only seems to occur when it rains in game. a portion of the screen goes black, but not all of it, and when you move the camera it kind of flows around. It can be cleared by going to the map and back.

And a couple more nice shots, sorry only 1920x1080.

Waiting for reviews. I figure a 4790K, GTX 1080Ti, 16GB RAM, Samsung 840 1TB SSD, and a 1080p monitor should handle the game fine.

got the same setup as you. 60-90fps outside of cities. sometimes drops to 20 in towns, which sucks.

I actually care about the characters right off the bat and and very much WANT to hear all the dialogue. That was something I just couldn't get into with games like the Witcher and Skyrim.

Looks awesome so far too, but yeah very demanding, threw it straight to all ultra on my laptop and getting 25-50 fps, need to tweak some settings for sure but it's tolerable.

I think this game shows great promise!

After playing another 4-5 hours, I'd say it looks like we have a great game here. It is that diamond in the rough sorta thing, but not all that rough. This one is for gamers who are at least a bit more than casual and can appreciate great indie games that sometimes have a bit of jank but shine through because they dare to do things AAA games won't. For those on the fence, I say give it until the next major patch to see how it is because they said that should be within a couple weeks and will fix a lot of issues people have reported. Some of you will need those fixes for this game to be enjoyable enough I think..

Great advice. I really like what I see overall and the potential here is very high.

Agreed with others: I don't want to skip any dialog, either.
