In what's becoming a theme, a report from TNW states that yet another cryptocurrency startup has pulled the exit scam, this time after raising $4.5 million in a series of initial coin offerings. The company LoopX has vanished, and pulled down it's website and all social media including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Telegram accounts.

According to a cached version of it's now deleted website, investors pledged 276 Bitcoin and 2,446 Etherium into LoopX. It was a bit obvious just based on the name, HyperLoop + SpaceX to hit all the buzzword goodness. All to just vanish with the investors money, and not even leave a farewell "penis." Rude.

“Finally the opportunity is here for the common investor to be part of a revolution and be finally free, financially free,” said the now-removed LoopX white paper. “Our top priority is to give you an opportunity to sit back, let us do the work and watch your money grow.”

U.Cash is kinda suspect at the moment. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ucash/
Had an 800+% boost the other day. Went from 0.0037 per coin to almost 23cents in 2 days.
If you had bought $500 worth 4 days ago and were able to sell at the peak, that would have been $32,500 in profit in a few days.

I know what I'm doing for christmas. Now what is cryptocurrency and how do I start it up?

That's the beauty of it, you don't have to know anything about crypto or blockchain or any of that stuff. You just need a nice website, social media sites, a few glossy mailouts and a crypto sounding name for your new money and company. Oh, don't forget a bank account for folks to send money to for the shares in the new company. Be sure to have an exit strategy, preferably to a non-extradition treaty country with good bank secrecy laws.

Who wants to buy into an exciting new investment opportunity? Twistycoin is coming and now is the best time to get in on the ground floor of this incredible new profit making engine! Don't get scammed by currencies, that's the gubmint and they take everything, internet coinage is the future of all trade! That's right, this is the future, the future is RIGHT NOW! You want to own the future don't you?

Cash only please. No credit, no cheques.

You didn't say blockchain 11 times, ima pass.

Sucker born every minute. It can be tough to separate the wheat from the chaff. Then again sometimes all it takes is a bit of effort.

I see that may be asking a bit too much from some people.

If you do know about it then you realize that bitcoin is literally not capable of fulfilling it's promises, and infinity coins will never work.

The only coin worth a damned would be HubCoin, done by the good people at pornhub, if they did a coin, but they don't so there isn't.

I can only imagine those that want to get caught out have a real desire to do so. I tried to setup buying one type of coin (just £10 worth, not stupid) to see how it all worked.

Well I have to say most, if not all of it didn't work, dead-ends, poorly documented, unnecessarily overcomplicated for what was trying to happen, account after account setup (with my junk email account) with no functionality and several 'Exchanges' just failed.

(Kind of reminded me of trying out Linux/a lot of open source software.)

Dumped it all and walked away..£10 still intact.

You'd have to be insane to want to get involved or a crook perhaps.

Why do they even bother deleting their facebook, twitter, etc? If your end goal is to screw people over then why not just close up shop and watch everyone post complaints for the next 6 months on your social media?

Here is a pic that describe everything

They just take your money and run

What? People trying to get rich quick getting dupped? Well color me shocked! Shocked I tell you!

They will get caught.

The crazy part is that people backed this with their other crypto coins. Too many morons in this world!

I see these articles, and I want one of those desktop buttons that simple play "You're fucking stupid" when you push the button... and I can just tap it every time someone criys about getting scammed in a process that involves something for nothing generation of virtual numbers at an imaginary estimated value being sold for real currency and credit.....

I was hyped on ICO (digitex) and i was super excited... good solid team. A few days before the ico the guy only posts videos/pics of himself in a house... those team members dont exist. Then he starts banning people and closing threads on reddit except the ones he posts.

It was a scam.. here I was excited, luckily I bought $0 worth. The worst part is alot of the folks buying the ico stuff are from 3rd world countries and you can see them making 10-50$ purchases.

THIS.

People invest in these currencies because of the INSANE potential for early investors to make a KILLING and get out. 2 days, and 800% profit scaling, tell me anywhere else in the world where you can find this on a regular basis. Most people that are savvy enough to be investing in niche crypto startups are typically well educated in crypto currencies and their respective market, looking for a high risk, high reward platform for their crypto portfolio.

Using the scenario above, even if you got burned 4 out of 5 times you invested $500 worth, you would still be left over with THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS in profit.

Lets say you get burn 9 out of 10 times, you still made over TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS in profit.

If this was your shtick, and you were addicted to investing crypto, why would you ever stop!? knowledge people.

I'm going to approach PornHub with my new idea: TitCoin. It takes block chaining to a whole new level.
