WoW; 6h expansion Legion

I agree with Legion being one of the better ones. I just let my account lapse so this could just be burnout speaking but this expansion doesn't interest me much so far. Feels like we are just going through another horde vs alliance story, kinda repetitive. Maybe by the time it is released I'll be more interested.

I really liked Legion a TON, compared to last several expansions;

- WoD = meh, boring, I unsubbed after a few months, tried again a year later, still lame
- MoP = At least it looked cool, was refreshing, but long down time between patches with nothing new killed it
- Cat = Major suckage

This new one does nothing for me, zero excitement, but I really don't know a lot about it yet, and need to see game play videos of what the new ares are like and the Raids, etc...

Feel the same way. I have a fear that it migh be WoD 2.0 or could be a sleeper hit like MoP

You guys enjoying the new Raid ? I ran it PUG last night, first two bosses came walk easy. Then the pod boss gave us a hard time.

I'm a Frost Knight, i930 casual player. I'm looking to join a new Guild as mine has become way too hardcore. They want Guild members to have i950 gear and doing 1.5 million dps MINIMUM, just to run the Normal version of new Raid.

I'm on the Horde side, on Zul' sever.

950 is pretty easy to get now, the new raid on normal is a joke, even the first couple on heroic werent very hard

A US guild is at 7/11 mythic. Usually US gets to about 5 or even maybe 6.

my friend pugged a heroic clear already, hopefully mythic is harder because its a LONG time to the next xpac to have a super easy raid on farm

My main, Frost Knight is only i935, and my Guild being super strict even for Normal runs in the new Raid, wanting i950 geared and do a base MINIMUM of 1.5 million DPS at the low end for them.

So frustrating.

your guild should get some skilled people who can do mechanics instead of just trying to get people who out gear the raid... not many upgrades for ilvl 950 people when it drops 930 gear, and 1.5 million dps is at the high end, more heroic level dps. for normal 900k would be low end, 1.1-1.2 is plenty

I loved this expansion. The story elements were incredibly fetched out and added to the already deep WOW lore. What put me off however, was the horrible grind for the nethershards on the Broken Shore. I actually unsubbed for that same reason. Ended up watching the downfall of Kiljaeden/Sargeras on youtube.

nethershards were easy in the first week or two, then as they made changes the drop rates were crap. but that said the gear wasn't that great unless you didnt raid. it was more a a catchup mechanic so people could get into TOS if they missed NH

My main is my Frost Knight, he's iLvl 945, I don't even play my alts much, which are my Tanakdin like i910, and DH i915, game is getting repetitive and boring again , with the only thing really available to do is run the new Raid, but once you do that once a week, not much else to do anymore.

Argus gear is useless, as it's only like i910 or maybe i930. I really liked the three new zones and idea of Argus when it came out in few months ago, but you quickly out gear it now, and is just good for AP WQs

they really need to back track on things, i miss the days when someone wearing a couple epic items or has a BWL tier was like OMG... now everything is purple, and legendaries? lol here's is 20 of them pick a couple

i just hope classic release included a couple items like LFG, the lower level mounts so make it palatable

I'm what I consider a "casual" WoW player, I do play several nights a week, but only for 30 to 45min each night before bedtime. And a longer session on certain weekend time if I have the free time, but not every weekend.

My highest Mythic +'s I am comfortable running are up to a +10 or so, not much higher, and the hardest Raids I run are current Normal.

I have three Tanks currently;

DK i942;
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/zuljin/dethdingo

Paladin i912
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/zuljin/darthdingo

Warrior i904;
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/zuljin/dingowar

After running Mythic+'s the past week, I found my Paladin to just tare it up, and easily mow down mobs, and just rock. Highest I ran him last week was a M+9 on my Paladin i912, and he went though it like hot butter.

I ran a +11 on my i942 DK, and I found that to be a little rough, not super hard, but no cakewalk either.

My Warrior i904 only, I did a +5 and that seemed like my limit, it wasn't easy, I had to really watch my health.

What's your opinion ?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update, got a leggo for my Paladin Tank, he's now i926, and waiting to unlock the second slot for another leggo, I have the Raid Ant ring waiting for me. But at i926 I feel super confident with this Paladin, I just Tanked Normal Ant last night with ease, and zero issues.

Now my Blood DK, got him to i952 and for first time tried Heroic Ant raid, I can self heal like a mofo, but just not as comfortable with the DK as I am with the Paladin. For some reason the Paladin gives me more confidence. Of course the DK being 25+ iLvl higher makes a huge difference, but I'm talking more feel of play, the overall rotation or priority of Tanking a Raid, my Paladin feels smoother of this makes sense ?

I may switch my DK to pure Frost DPS, I do have Cold Heart and Bracers leggos for him.

Or keep both as Tanks and see how far I progress ?

Opinion ?

I tried Frost Knighting again. I have Cold Heart and the Bracers Legendary's, and a bunch of other equipment I've saved that give me a i950 iLvl as Frost. I ran Normal Ant Raid last night with my Guild, and I found dps'ing to be boring as fuck. Specifically Frost dps, just click Remorseless winter, then spam Obliterate and Howling Blast when they proc, and use Frost Strike in between, and make sure you have Pillar of Frost up at the best time. Pretty much that's it. Mainly a 4 or 5 button spec, and most of the time just 3 buttons your spamming most the fights. I find it very dull and unexciting.

I like Tanking way better, as you have more control, and I like positioning the boss, and getting in front of them and just whacking away at them. When in dps mode, I would forget sometimes I'm not a Tank and start to go at them in the front like I was the Tank LOL. Even though I suck at mechanics for hard boss fights, I'm the type that needs to run a Raid several times as the off tank, and have my head set on with my Guild, and have the main tank spelling out what to do, which my Guild is great at helping. Once I've run it several weeks with them, it sinks in and I'm pretty good.

So far the Paladin Tank puts the biggest smile on my face, I really feel like the Paladin Tankadin smashes better, with a thud and just good fun, the DK Tank can feel a bit boring like Frost DK, just spamming a few spells mainly like DnD, then Marrowind, Blood Boil, and Herat Strike, mixed in Death Strikes for healing. Sometimes there's cd's I'm waiting for, and that can make the class a bit boring, and feel like I'm going through the motions, but not fun not exciting. Whereas the Paladin has a smooth rotation to go through, and the procs are fun, like Avengers Shield and stuff, the Tankadin has more life to it, more action in the spells it feels.

I gave up. Even as as casual, it felt like I had a hard time finding content that I wanted to do. Grinding rep and doing dailies isn't much fun. I bought the expansion to find that I couldn't even play the new races as the rep needed isn't really anything that I've done yet. I got a refund for the expansion and think its the end of the line for me and wow. Still hard to wrap my head around since I've been playing since vanilla.

If you're still interested in doing an MMO check out FFXIV, it's actually done really well. I play it here an there when I'm bored in WoW. If I wasn't committed to working through mythic content with my guild I would have jumped ship to FF full time a long time ago.

Thats the way I have been leaning. I actually bought it on release and played it for a month. I ended up going back to Wow though since I had the time back then to raid with my guild and had plenty of time to put into it. I LOVE the final fantasy franchise and everyone is telling me to re-up my sub with them and enjoy it.

New to DH after long time off

I wanted to play my DH Havoc again, after a long break, which I haven't really touched him too much since last Summer. He's in 4pc T20, but totally confused how to play him now in 7.3.5 ? I want to get away from my Frost DK, which is i949, and I'm not doing the best dps numbers on him, plus I find the class to be very dull and boring to play, I need a break from my Frost Knight.

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/zuljin/dingohunter

I read that the Demonic build is pretty much the ONLY build for Havoc only right now ? But that's based on if you have 4 pc T21, which I have zero right now. So is it true to still stick to the T20 Blades build until I get all T21 pcs ?

Since I haven't touched my DH in like 6 months, I ran Maw of Souls real quick last night, and only recorded my final boss fight, and it showed me doing 600k dps on that fight, but I noticed some cd issues, certain times I was waiting for CS to cd, or other spells just taking like a second before I could use them again.

What's the best way get my dps up right now before T21 ?

My boss fight rotation is Arcane Torment + Chaos Blades + Nemesis + Meta + Chaos Strike + Fel Blade + Blades Dance

And my typical rotation for simple World Quest crap is a simple three spell rotation of Fel Blade + Blades Dance + Chaos Strike spammed all the time until out. With Chaos Strike getting the priority, and then Throw Glaive when those on cd.

And for once I get T21 4pc, I have zero clue on that one, all I know is Eye Beam is king there, and it's a radical different play style and completely new set of spells to use than the Blades build.

playing a Void Elf Monk - healing and tank spec because my nightelf monk, dps windwalker spec spoiled me on melee and I really like monks.

I hope with BFA they make end game raiding actually worthwhile. I took a long break from raiding for many expansions and came back strong for Legion and doing mythics is kinda crappy. All the effort that goes into mythic has like 0 worthwhile reward, they need to re-implement the badge system so even if I don't get any drops in mythic I can atleast gain badges for downing bosses to turn into mythic level loot. As it is right now people in LFR can titanforge better gear that what I get out of running mythics for weeks on end. how lame..

The other thing I'm hoping for is being able to actually have viable alts through the expansion. It's one thing to just have to gear up an ALT to raid level, but to gear up and then still be stuck behind RNG drops or some sort of time gated progression artifact weapon system was lame as well. I know we loose our artifacts with BFA which is totally awesome. eff those weapons. but I know there is some new azerite system or whatnot and I hope it's not just another time gated ALT killer.

Right. Mythic raiding isn’t coveted like it was before. The time and coordination isn’t worth it when I can pug heroic and bank on titanforged drops. I mean, look at this 980 ring I got off of heroic Argus. With socket no less! Lol

I've basically dropped all of my alts except for my Feral druid, and once in a while switching back to balance if I'm bored. It's the only thing that keeps me interested these days.

getting bored and flipped to alt mode

969 disc priest, 953 affliction lock, and 6 others in the 920-940 range, can tell bordome is setting in when we cant populated 20 people for mythic raids in guild anymore

Alts take too much time for me. I main and that’s it.

Been frustrated with Legion, but also recently playing more than ever.

- Frustrated because my main a Frost DK is stuck at i953. I've ran Heroic Antorus 3 weeks in row, I'll get either AP loot, or gear that's exactly matching what I already have or a downgrade. Just sucks to put that time in, and get beef for upgrades. I run Normal too, and all been downgrades. So I've parked my DK.

- Addicted again due to playing 3 alts and having fun gearing them up. Paladin Tank I haven't played since Legion launched, he's i931, my Havoc Demon Hunter is i930, and my Fury Warrior I haven't played much at all, is now i926. This all happened in the past ten days or so.

Have to admit the Fury Warrior felt slow and clunky at first, but now with two leggos, and little bit higher gear, he seems to be smoothing out, and more fun. Seems this Warrior dps class needs good Legendary's and higher iLvl to be fun to play. At low level gear they feel poor and just bad.

Demon Hunter I need to switch away from the Blades build, and move to Demonic, but I have no T21 gear yet, well 1 Normal shoulders actually. So to play Demonic properly do can I start with 2pc T2, or wait till 4pc ?

At that ilvl you should either be working your way into mythics, or praying for a rare titanforged piece.

So... Exactly how warrior has felt since vanilla. Gotcha. ;)

Ok I just switched to Demonic build after getting 2pc T21 last night, ( actually have 3pc, and working on my 4th ) I am only i940 on this alt right now. I am doing POOP damage, total shit

Character;
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/zuljin/dingohunter

Talents = 3313333

I'm still gearing up, so have a ix of lowbie gear still.

So this is my boss rotation, and I have questions if I am doing this right even;

Fel rush X 1...Demon's Bite X 2...Nemesis X 1... Fury of Ill X 1...Eye Beam X 1...Meta X 1...Eye Beam X 1...Annihilation X spam...

If this single target rotation above is right, I question what do I do right after the first Eye Beam ? Just let it spray out for the 8 seconds or so, and then after that, I click Meta, and then immediately another Eye Beam ? Ok... and after that second Eye Beam is done spraying, am I supposed to spam Chaos Strike, which at that time is actually Annihilation ? Just keep spamming Annihilation the whole time, mixed in with Demon's Bite due to Fury regen, that's it ?

Is the above correct ? Please correct what is wrong there ?

And then for AOE I just mainly do Demon's Bite for Fury regen, and the main spells of Chaos Strike + Eye Beam + Blade Dance ?

My armory hasn't updated yet for some reason.

Talents are 331333

Legendary's are Raddon's + Sephuz's

And yes I need gems and enchants, but going through gear quickly gearing up, I sort of forgot too, except on my highest end gear. Does an enchant + gem really make that big of a diff ? I am only like 900k dps, where I should be doing WAY higher.

- - - Updated - - -

Finally got 4pc T21 tonight, so for now for testing ditch the Raddon's, and using Sephuz's + Cinidaria, and play around with Demonic.

Read up on icy veins or noxxic.

Noxxic is straight up trash. Avoid it like the plague. Icy is... ok, if you pair it with common sense.

Not a fan of Sephuz for you, while Cin would be a flat 3% damage increase. All in all, you need a better legendary to pair with Raddon.

Ok I tried the 4pc without Raddon's and for Demonic it's a must to have Raddon's on .Right now my 4pc is with the T21 helm, so I took it off and went back to Raddon's helm and much better. I'll farm for another T21 slot, which now would be the chest or cloak.

Now I'm just not sure best Legendary to pair with Raddon's ? I have Sephuz's ring. Cin belt. Chaos Theory cloak. Soul of Slayer ring.

Not suggesting you ditch Raddon's at all, it's your best in slot. Realistically, you want the shoulders to pair with it in almost every situation. Sephuz works well, but you need to make sure you're getting tht haste buff every single time you can, if at all possible. If not, go Chaos Theory.

I resubbed for a bit, I last played before 7.3 so I missed all the drama around nerfed heirlooms and leveling pace.

Started a new warrior with heirlooms, went Prot and queued up for dungeons at 15. Holy crap, fighting through dungeons is slow now. Each fight is a legit, slow affair. Bosses take a while. Feels very different. It started that way in freaking Ragefire Chasm which used to be a joke.

I queued once as a DPS spec just to see from that perspective. Half hour wait, then that group went through 3 tanks in Shadowfang Keep. They would screw up, die, pull too much, healer out of range, whatever. Reminded me of early Cata dungeons. Very different from the WoW leveling we've had for years now.

I pre-purchased the new expansion. Wish I could gift my 110 boost. I won’t really utilize it. I mage and that’s it.

Some good comment on the Havoc DH and why a lot of people not happy with it in it's current form;

because the demonic RNG is just ridiculous. ALL the rng on 1 skill, the chaotic onslaught, the fury refund, the inner demons, the demon appetite orbs etc for meta form. Its one of the class in which the damage rng disparity is close to 900-1 milion dps depending on luck. Even our demon bite generator with ring. between 21 or 44ish fury with one swing, thats just dumb. Not skill. Rng is in havoc demonic is almost 70% of the playstyle.
