Well, I'll let you know what happens with this. Why would anyone go to this much effort to steal $14?

Fuck it... Stranger things have happened. Fry's honored the $248 price on the Denon X2400H last week. Maybe I will get lucky twice :D

[Checks to see if my eBay account has been hijacked... AGAIN!!]

They WILL definitely hijack accounts to sell cheap stuff. Mine has been hijacked a number of times to sell fake sunglasses.

I don't feel like giving a stranger a free loan today... but damn if you all do get your drives...

how do you steal 14 dollars from eBay though. They 99% of the time side with buyers on dispute?

i'll gamble and let ya'll know. Feel like wasting 14 bucks tonight

I bit for 1. Certain its BS but ebay will just have to begin refunding us later. On the off chance that someone is just trying to get rid of some hard drives for dirt cheap! Its worth a chance lol

Bought one as well. Seller blocked the purchase of more than 1.

Had some ebay bucks that were about to expired and got my cost down to $5. For that cost I'll take up on this gamble. I don't think it will go through but hell for $5 I'll try anyway.

scam just like all those 1080ti card for 150.

Those cards actually show up though.. they just happen to be knock offs or old cards in the to boxes.. so at least it's SOMETHING for my hard earned $14.

1. Not everyone will file a dispute in time, so you can make off with the cash.
2. Empty the PP account, eBay can't recover funds that aren't there.

These guys aren't making money on a handful of $14 scams, they've got thousands of other sales going at the same time with other stolen accounts.

MOD: Please kill this thread. I paid and it's saying I may and may not be able to get a refund that the person selling this item, his/he account was compromised and this purchase may/may not have buyer protection.

Bad deal all around.

Log into your paypal and cancel the payment transaction.

The guy didn't finish registering a few things on his end and all payments should be pending (but should be able to be cancel on buyer's paypal end).

Only took me 2 seconds to cancel it.

Weird. I got a slightly message.

We’re writing to let you know that an unauthorized third party may have accessed the seller’s account to list this item. The item has been removed from the site, and the transaction was cancelled. We ask that you take the following precautions:

- If you already paid for the item, you may be protected by eBay. Open a request with the Resolution Center and choose, "I bought an item. I haven't received it yet." You can access the Resolution Center by visiting:

- If the transaction doesn't qualify for eBay’s protection, please immediately contact the payment service used to request a refund.

- If you haven't paid for your item, consider this transaction canceled and do not send payment.

In this situation, your account wasn't accessed by the third party involved. At eBay, we take a number of steps to help ensure the security of your account. Learn more about protecting your account at:

I tried to cancel through ebay but it didn't work. It did work when I logged into paypal and canceled the pending transaction there.

Me too. Cancelled through Paypal. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time with this.

Yup, happens all the time.

Only time mine got hijacked, though, I was apparently selling a Ferrari in the UK.
