Player unknown Battlegrounds

For this new "ultra rare" clothing available that people are selling in the Steam marketplace, is this stuff you buy and can keep with you between matches to customize your character? How can you identify in game which stuff you get to keep between matches?

*edit* NM I now see how crates work.

I don't think anything is temporary.

Ehhh, that's an ok evaluation. But private, home-brew, hacking is a tiny, fraction of the actual hacking.

Yes, the hack software will always be ahead of the detection software. Long story short, PUBG is either not doing much on the anti-cheat front, or are intentionally letting it run amok to not alienate the Chinese.

I honestly don't know which it is. But they need to step it up soon, or it will completely destroy the American market. It is already happening, and it won't take much to seal its fate.

I can deal with the high ping players, I can deal with the low tick rate on the servers, but if hackers start coming to FPP like they are on TPP, I am done, and probably won't touch the game again.

I will say, something is off with PlayerUnknown. He could easily contain the majority of the hackers by either region locking, or ping limiting the servers, either of which would work. But he has said that he won't, because it's racist, or some BS like that.

If they region locked, or ping limited, problem solved for most regions against the hackers. But apparently he is just some spineless cuck that enjoys his shekels from China too much...

Anyway, I can rant all day about hackers, spent a lifetime fighting them in BF2 and BF3 as a server admin.

I used to play on the Asian servers at night my side because the US servers were so full of BS.
Then those got bad so I went to SA and Kor / Japan. Now they are getting bad.

I really like the game but the bs is getting ridiculous.

I play on the Trinidad and Tobago server. Haven't seen any cheaters there yet.

I still havn't seen a hacker

I have barely played the game. Maybe 30 rounds. In those 30 I was blatantly killed with my entire squad 4 times. One person. Every time it was a Chinese name. No chance. Just one headshot each and game over.

Pubg is no longer on my hd.

Settle down. The game is what it is at this point. Either like it or leave it alone please.

did you move it to your ssd?

Oh yeah. Every online fps I play is on SSD. It was my whole crew though. 2 of my friends are top ranked players. They call hacks then it usually is just that.

haha I was just joking about the ssd. that sucks you had to experience cheaters so early on. if I was new to the game I probably wouldn't pick it up again after that either. do your friends experience cheaters regularly though?

Maybe I will give it another go this week, but my BS meter is pretty sensitive to this game...

Yeah. The hardcore guys just put up with it. Sometimes they rage but in the end, the game is their crack. So they report the asshats and move on.

Tried to use a 360 controller for my son and was an epic fail. Is it known buggy atm?

Or is it possable to set it up right in a .cfg file?

every multiplayer game will have cheaters no matter what game developpers do, you could weed a bunch out with region restrictions, but I'm sure even those can be bypassed, ofc the flavor of the month game will have more then some dead game like lawbreakers or battleborn.

One thing that does bug me now is the new lootboxes, you have no choice which ones you get but you can get locked ones now, and only way to open them is to buy keys with real money, not gonna pay for those, might sell the boxes though.

maybe they can use vpn or proxy to get past region locks, but they can't bypass simple latency tests. So just add code to not allow pings > 150 or so ms. Then you don't have to do anything with region locks and it solves a host of lag issues as well.

pubg said on twitter a few weeks ago they are looking into implementing ping limits. as someone else pointed out that brendan greene said that region locking china was "racist" and they wouldn't do it. ping limiting could punish people with sketchy internet who likely only have one isp to choose from. I think they should implement it in a way that the game only kicks you if you go over the limit for minutes on end.

yeah, I'm sure it wouldn't be instant, but measured over a minute or 2 in the lobby. And while it would punish people with bad internet, well..that just kind of sucks, but there have to be limits to make the playing field fair.

don't think the intent was to kick you but to group people with low pings toghether and those with high pings.

That might stop some, but it is possible to "hack" ping to make it say 50 when in reality it's 250.

I've seen it done in counter strike.

punkbuster lol

Racist? The VAST majority of the bans are in China. That is just a fact. I know it is a huge market and all but damn.

What is up with the cheating there anyway? Really makes Chinese gamers look bad.

Had that happen last night. We were in the Shelter on the 1st map. We all got 1 shot by a guy with a Kar98 who was on the hills above the shelter.

looks like he was in the hill. reminds me of BF2/2142 where people would clip into objects and they could shoot you but you could never shoot them.

I would assume it's because they are grinding accounts for loot crates / gear. Hacking gets them more points faster.

This is why this item/loot crate non-sense is not a good thing. It attracts all of these Chinese bots / cheaters grinding for gear to sell.

china is super corrupt and have a win at all costs mentality for everything. they steal products designs and don't think twice

If they implement this, they will be forced to also issue a lot of refunds (which I highly doubt they would want to) since a lot of countries (whole of Africa) don't even have servers, and are forced to play with 150+ ping constantly. The only options are to region lock china, which they have already said they wont do or group pings together, which would also cause problems as those with high ping would probably have a longer waiting time each and every game which in turn will cause players to move over to other games reduce player base to the point of not being able to play (not sure but could also cause a forced refund since the developers changed or implemented a system that would cause players to not be able to play said game)

I'm glad that they did some real world arrests for the bs.
Ever since 1.0 its been horrible, every game last night was ended by obvious cheaters after cheaters. We all rage quit :(

Tonight after the main story spreading of the arrests we only ran into one group of cheaters. They were really blatant and stupid lol but one game I can live with as there will always be some. Other then that it was really refreshing to land some hits again and down players. Did not win but having fun is not all about winning in this game. That said my friends and I went from about 1 dinner a week to maybe 1 a month since 1.0. Insane.

I don't know how people are finding so many cheaters.

We just won multiple games last night.

yeah what sock said, how do you find so many cheaters? what mode and server do you play on? I won 4 out of my first 10 games when 1.0 came out on solo, fpp, NA. and still havn't encountered a cheater. I typically play duo and squad though.

I play with a group of guys who aren't FPS players generally. Literally every time they get killed, they say, "Oh BS! That guy is cheating! He head shot me from the hip without even aiming." I say, "It's called a snapshot or a flick."

yes, I've gotten shot at from behind, flicked around and won the fight. people need to either witness a aimbot in the replay or shut up and watch some of the top steamers and realize there are very good players out there.

I usually only call foul when someone wipes a whole squad in 4-5 shots. Otherwise, yeah. Some people are just good.

Our team just got wiped by a guy firing the S12K through a wall and a building. That's not being good, that's just plain cheating.

Quite, I have two vids on YouTube of folks with bull auto M4's hitting head shots 5 times in a row off the hip. My death came at about 50 to 100 meters. Sorry, no one can snap off the hip two perfect head shots at that distance. Let alone on the 5th try.

Last night it happened to my team where we landed spread out, another group drove in and shot one of my friends through a floor, they were first floor he was second. My Other friend was about 2 to 300 meters away, downed him through a few walls. I was behind another wall and they ran outside and immediately had their guns all trained on me without me having made a sound, fired a shot or exposed my position. They tried to grenade me but missed and shot me through the wall.

There are a LOT of good players out there, but there are an equal and growing number of BS cheaters lately. Good players miss from time to time and make judgement calls that show strategy and game understanding, not seeing you through a wall and tracking a hidden player perfectly to their death.
