Panel Type: VA 60Hz (120Hz motion rate)
Panel bit depth: 10 bit (8bits + FRC)
HDR: HDR10

I grown quite fond of the TCL TVs and their butter smooth Roku OS and remote. But for $249, I might give this a try. All my local walmarts are reporting $249 for this TV as well.

I have the 49" version of this and I'm thinking about taking it back. There is lots of motion blur and despite claiming HDR capability, it doesn't support true 10-bit color. There is backlight bleed also, but the contrast seems really good (finally a cheap TV that approaches the blacks of a plasma).

At $249 I wouldn't call it a bad deal though.

I would like to pick another one of these up but I am guessing if it is showing $397 then none of mine have it in stock. Bummer.

Ah nuts. I love the 43 inch 6290 I bought about a month ago, works really well on my computer. That said, I paid $349 for it and would have loved to have gotten this instead at $249. (I had originally bought one from Walmart in early December and returned it, I could not get it too work right on my computer, may have been a defective unit.)

Have the MU6290 from the Costco Black Friday deal [$299]. It's a decent TV to use as a monitor. There are slight trailing on fast moving images in games but nothing overly concerning.

Thanks.

$398 for me...yay!

What zip codes are you guys using that you're seeing $249? I know a while back you could get the lower price if you used a different zip code.

edit: Welp, looks like they fixed that workaround. I did manage to find it at a store near me for $249 though! :D

I used my zip and I get 397 when I put in my old zip 42104 it shows $249 since it is in stock ready for pickup. Too bad I live 12 hours from there :/

my local walmart has them at 271, I bought 1

*edit: that price is after taxes

I have the Ku version of the tv its great except for the damn Bluetooth is grayed out and when enabled with the samsung service remote it doesn't connect to my Samsung speakers...

Yep that was one of the listed differences between the 6290 and the 6300, I believe everything else was the same.

I just picked one of these up for $263 out the door. (y)

Edit: Looks like I have 1 stuck grey pixel and some kind of shit under the glass in another place...might be going back. I get it they don't want to lose money on bad panels, but come on already with the QC.

I was at Costco earlier and looking at this 40" Samsung (VA) vs 43" Samsung (IPS) vs 43" TCL (VA).

I honestly like the size of this 40" Samsung over the 43" TVs.

Shame Costco wouldn't price-match walmart. Would of gotten 4 years warranty with the Costco Credit card and 10% back as a gift-card during their Samsung promotion deal.

theres a 55" 6290 to check for on clearance also many are down to 398 but some are still 498, some even lower.

I snagged a 55" curved 6500 model for at meijer with $200 back at meijer or else I would prob grab one

Also remember to check your electric company for a rebate, mine is up to $75 now

Picked mine up today and got it setup. Lookin' pretty good! Got it all setup for 4:4:4 and verified it's all working correctly. Unfortunately, a ton of calibration options go away once you go into PC mode (required for 4:4:4). Anybody got some good settings for this TV in PC mode? I checked out the rtings review and calibration for it, but that seems to mostly be for regular TV usage as a lot of the settings they talk about are greyed out for PC mode.

I just got one to replace an really old sony 32in 720p tv in the bedroom, that I bought on clearance for >1000 :-(. cant dial in the color. have another sony 55" in the living room and the colors seem a touch better. Did the rtings settings, then a quick Disney disk calibration which helped. But the red/warmth seems a bit off... or I'm just used to sony color. I'll have to keep tweeking.

For example the Chiefs red unifroms just look off, a bit more purple tinge.

Say what now? A rebate for buying a TV?
Yes as long as it's energy star. Mine used to be $25 for 21"-49" and $50 for 50"+, but now it's $75 for 21"+. Limit 4 per address for me, already done it 3 times.

Done a bunch of them.
I bought a Honeywell wifi thermostat for $130 on Newegg, electric company gave $100rebate and gas company gave $50 rebate, heck of a deal. Recently got 2 ihome 70pint dehumidifiers for $55 total after the 2x $75 rebates.

Grabbed the last one at my local store. Definitely didn't "need" it but I really "wanted" a larger screen in the bedroom :) Thanks OP!

Congrats! I went from a 32 to the 40 and was a nice upgrade! And Netflix works in like seconds! Very happy with it.

Not sure if it's available everywhere but my Walmart shows them @ $249. Gonna bite for 2 more to go with my older KU model and go for 40" triple screens on my racing cockpit build

Have you considered a Rift or Vive for this setup? Some of the racing sims even have legit side mirrors in VR. Not trying to dissuade you as there are other issues to contend with in doing so, just asking if you have considered this route.

I did actually think about that also. I have a gearVR and found out that I couldn't deal with SDE for long periods of time. It was either get 2x40's for $500 or VR for around the same price. I also could repurpose the screens in the future if need be. I also realize I didn't think it all the way through after setting up all the monitors. It damn near took a whole wall of the room they were setup in so I decided to change things up a bit and go with triple 40" in portrait and skip the cockpit for now. Currently waiting on single monitor mounts to come in.. along with their vesa adapters.

Check this out to see if you can get Bluetooth

Sweet I will try this out. Weird enough when I bought the KU6290 last year it did come with the Smart Remote but the MU6290 from the same store (Costco) did not. Still, free BT is free BT.

I'm hearing that some locations have these for $169 now. One WM in my area had them listed but OOS.
There's a trick to buy at another store whatever the price, then return/rebuy at that store for cheaper YMMV. Also if it let's you order to store for higher price, when it gets there say you meant to use a diff card and return/rebuy also a ymmv

Glad I checked this thread again. I looked and a store a few miles away listed 3 in stock now but would not let me order online. Nice lady there found one in the back for me and held it in her department. I can confirm the $169 price. To think I was happy getting one on BF for $299.

Goddammit. Was on a chat with WM and they gave me the runaround about giving me a refund for the difference of the one I bought a week ago for $249. Told me I would have to call and talk to the store manager to get the price adjusted. That just sounds like a trap.

So fuck it, I just ordered another one for $169. I'll just return the one I have and pick up the other one.

Just grabbed a bunch of 10% off coupons for online purchase ($20 max discount) may be willing to part with a few. I know there are some for sale on eBay also(not me)

Fawk, I couldn't make it out to Walmart yesterday and they just cancelled my order. Sumbitches!

Can you reorder? I would send you a 10%off code but I'm not home.

Be on the lookout for the 49" LG down to $169 now, grabbed 6 last night
