Corsair H150i PRO RGB AIO CPU Cooler Review

Corsair has just released its largest All-In-One (AIO) cooler to date. With a 360mm radiator, RGB Frag Harder Disco Lights, and magnetic levitation fans, it seems to be hitting all the popular checkboxes that are required nowadays when it comes to just about any product. Our primary concern is how well it cools a very hot overclocked CPU.

Amazon has these in stock now as well.

Clearly, this looks to be a good quiet solution, but how was performance if you turned the fans up? Could it meet or beat the h110i's thermal performance at similar noise levels?

The H150i fans were at 100% / 2150RPM as described in the review.

Weird, is the H100 fans moving more air? I would think a larger radiator would always dissipate the heat better. Unless their block is crappier...

Ah, so there is more cooling capacity with some different fans or push/pull. That noise profile looks really sweet compared to the H100 though.

nice review. the wire thing has been my only issue with my h110i too. I wish it was a single bundle for a few inches so that you can hide it better.
I guess people missed the fan specs, 45cfm, so yes there is more cooling if you swap fans.

Yep, a lot more cooling capacity if you want to forego the stock fans and go with something that will move a lot more air.

FYI, on the new testing setup, we run all fans at full RPM.

I'm actually very disappointed to be honest. When this was first announced a few two or three weeks ago, I admit, I became very excited. I've been waiting for a quality large 3 fan radiator AIO to come to market. While there are a few on the market now, questions of their workmanship/quality are always in question throughout the reviews and forum posts I come across. And no, I've never or probably will ever be interested in building out a custom loop mainly because my personal systems are always positioned to be sold whenever a profitable offer comes along and they always do. So it's not a cost I can afford when I won't be keeping the system.

My main goal, what I want out of my system will ALWAYS be .. performance. Second, quality and workmanship. I only use Corsair because of their quality.

For something that costs $186+ dollars with tax .... yeah, not a product I would ever consider or recommend. To me it doesn't make sense.

It seems they went with a focus on a quieter sound stage and stupid RGB lights ... with performance taking a backseat. Or, perhaps a balance of all three. I would have much rather seen something that came with 6 fans, the larger radiator, awesome air pressure and a good solid pump.

I'm also seriously considering going with a dual 140mm Air-Cooler next time around to save maybe $40 or $50 bucks over the $120+ I will typically spend on a Corsair Water AIO.

This might be interesting with 6 fans in a push / pull config

its the ML fans that drive the price up and they aimed for quietness. if they offered a version with faster fans it might suite some better...

If you are in the UK, the H150i Pro is listed at 50 pounds, grab a few and see if they honor the price,

The corsair ML fans are really nice. My system has 7 of them. 6x120mm ML's on my dual 360mm rads and 1x140mm ML for the rear. If you get really close to my case you can just hear it running. That's even when gaming, I have dual 1080 gtx's and a [email protected].
I don't like hearing my systems, so each there own. I think it's a little pricey , but seams like a nice cooler. My next system will probably be all AIO stuff. Building custom water cooled systems is getting less fun and more frustrating in my old age lol .

Well it's all Asetek underneath so they can't do much performance wise besides fans and LED control board.

You're saying they had no control over cooling performance? I didn't realize they were locked into what they can and cannot cool. Makes sense I suppose with all the patents and whatnot. The performance looks worse than the 2 or 3 year old Corsair 100.

So this is just a Water-Cooling Kit dressed in RGB? Ok. Making sense now.

I wonder if they release a performance oriented Water Cooling AIO using the same radiator but with better fans for front and back. Something that is actually designed to cool extremely well.

They added 50% more radiator than the H100, but used slower quieter fans, to get almost the same performance as the H100, but with much quieter operation.

I'm guessing they determined that what people really care about is less noise, not lower temps.

I bet you could make this thing outperform almost any other AIO by using the same loud-ass fans Corsair used to use on it.

Looks like Amazon has the images reversed for the H150 and the H115...

Hopefully that doesn't confuse anyone into buying the wrong model.
Just the stupid people that deserve it. ;) Actually I note exactly that in the review where it is linked to mitigate that. :)

Corsair first showed this off last June. After waiting 6 months, I finally gave in and did 2 custom loops. Would have been a whole lot cheaper and easier if they hadn't taken so long.

You gave me a thought, I'll put in a google alert for this model number and keep my eyes peeled for a review that uses higher spec'd fans. My Corsair is already pretty quiet. I don't need silent. So I'm more than ok with performance fans for the lower temps. I'm pretty sure most would be too if they had a choice between a quiet fan or reducing your CPU temps 10 additional degrees.

I really love the Corsair fit and finish. I still think it looks nice with or without the RGB's.

Really like Corsairs stepping up their stock fans for the H150i in comparison to H100i, silent with a decent CFM comparable to Noctua NF F12 fans.

don't think a 360mm would help even. the big 5.0 and 1.4v shit I think you'd still see 75-85c under heavy loads/benchs.

Thank you for the review.

So could these fans be added to the H100i/115i?

I replaced the fans on my H105 with ML120's, and I use the Asus AISuite3 software to control them. So far I've been pleased. They can provide plenty of cooling without generating much noise, and at full speed they don't really bother me. I actually use the ML series for both my radiator and case fans now.

Thanks for that.

I wonder how they would hurt the effectiveness of the cooler? I personally never run mine at 100%, so I'm wondering if I can get the same performance, but with less noise?

The ones that come with the new AIO's are the regular ML fans that don't have the fancy exterior finish, black blades, and rubber corner dampers of the ML Pro's, not sure if there is a performance difference though.

This is the Dual pack of the ML's, about $16 a fan,

So could these fans be added to the H100i/115i?

These radiators are pretty much universal. You can likely add any roughly standard sized 120mm fan to them.

If the fan thickness varies too much you might need different screws. Be careful if using a fan that is thinner than stock, as tightening in the screws too far can then damage the radiator and cause it to leak.

Personally back when I used a 280mm Corsair H110i GTX, I had four 140mm Noctua iPPC fans on it in push pull. Performed very well (but got very loud at full load)

Well since 2015 Asetek officially holds the patent for AIO coolers (pump onto a block) and all those AIOs are their design (getting royalties) or they provide them to OEMs. Coolermaster was in court with them for this reason.

This new model is the first that Asetek revised after quite some time (there is a video from GamerNexus on youtube about it)

They added 50% more radiator than the H100, but used slower quieter fans, to get almost the same performance as the H100, but with much quieter operation.

Well more AIOs on this design will flood the market soon so any "lead" will be temporary.

If you want true performance difference you need to go custom but an AIOs has its uses.

Have a look at Asetek's Web Site and check the products under "Desktop"

https://www.asetek.com/desktop/do-it-yourself/

VOILA almost all of the AIOs of the market here. Why? Because they make them I guess so it all comes down to branding and RGB control boards.

I just don't trust Corsair fans. All marketing hype. I give them a try every few years. Maybe THIS year the flashy marketing spam will match the product? Never does.

I always go back to bland brown Noctua. I have several Corsair AIOs. They all run Noctua fans. Corsair cases? Noctua fans.

I've had good luck with their three pin case fans, but poor luck with their 4 pin radiator fans. I've had quite a few of the latter die on me, while the several Corsair case fans I accidentally bought with drag harder lights, didn't want and then donated to my stepson have been running flawlessly for years.

When I have bought Corsair AIO's I've just dealt with this by changing my perspective. I'ce convinced myself that I am really just buying a radiator, and am going to change the fans to my liking anyway, so the included fans become temporary use at most.

If you buy the radiator expecting to trash the included fans anyway, you are less disappointed when you actually do.

I wish they sold these things without fans. I mean, what enthusiast isn't going to want to mix and match to select the best combination for their setup. Some people want loud screaming fans for the lowest possible temps, others prefer silent ones.

The ML140 Pros are great radiator fans actually and very quiet. Based on review (see thermalbench) and user feedback I am going with them. I just wish they were a bit cheaper.

Has anyone in here had any pump issues on their corsair AIOs? I had a h100 v2 AND a h115 fail on me this past year, one of them lasted three months and the other about 7 months, really turned me off to AIOs so I bought a FUMA and it performed better and for half the cost.

I really like the way these things work and this one looks kind of cool as well but damn....after wasting over 200 dollars it’s hard to look at these things objectively.

Those ML fans do look appealing though........

Wow. I have multiple Corsair units that have been kicking for years. That said, it does not mean you did not get bad equipment. I would suggest reaching out to Corsair. It warranty and service generally kick ass.

I've been using Corsair AOI's for over 5 years now. The H60 was the first one I bought, I ran it 24/7 for almost 5 years till I sold the machine to a friend, who then sold it to my brother, and it's still running strong.
I've got a 1.5 year old H60 in my Plex server, a 3 year old H80i in my gaming machine, both run 24/7 with no issues as well.

I have an H115i that I have been running over a year now. No probs - just keeps troopering along. I was a little disappointed to see the H150 Pro 3-fan rad getting spanked by its older 2-fan sibling even if its fans are quieter.

Was hoping for these new Corsair AIOs to had a proper TR4-SP3 sized waterblock/pump. I guess I will have to keep looking at the Enermax cooler if I want something that properly fits my chip (I stopped using custom LC loops a long time ago because are too damn expensive!!).

Yeah, I'll echo everyone else and say this is an atypical experience.

I've had:
~2011 1x Corsair H50. Used it myself for a few months, then built into someone elses system. Last I heard it was still running and working)
~2011 1x MainGear / CoolIT Epic 180 180mm AIO radiator (same design, but 180mm rad). Cooled my main rig from 2011 to 2015
~2012 1x Corsair H80 (cooled server CPU 24/7 for 2 years, then moved to stepesons rig where it cooled the CPU until 2016. Now not in use)
~2015 1x Corsair H110i GTX (used to cool CPU from 2015 to 2016, then moved to stepsons system, still running there)
~2015 2x H90 (used to cool dual 980ti's, currently not in use)

Only reason I am not using a Corsair AIO today is because I finally in 2016 decided to go ahead and build my own custom loop.

I know this is just a sample size of 6, but I've been using them for years and never had a problem. I'd argue that they are highly reliable.
