Hi! Are there any First Person Shooters like Quake 2, in old fashion, where there is no extra aiming and gameplay is simple? Like Quake 2, Soldier of Fortune 1, MOHAA, Back Mesa... But released in 2014–2017.

Doom (2016) would fit the bill, unless you think having upgrades disqualifies it from your definition of "simple." There is also one gun that you can optionally attach a scope to that activates when you use the secondary fire button.

I second Doom (2016).

Overwatch if you want multiplayer. Only one character can use a scope out of the 26 heroes.

Ziggurat is a good old school shooter type rogue game.

Reminds me a little bit of Heretic weapon and setting wise.

Doom 2016 is fantastic. I've been slowly playing through it again at the hardest or maybe 2nd hardest mode and it is...... frustrating. Great game though, level design is top notch.

Fallout 4, though it's not really an 'FPS'. Sniper Elite 4, if you like sniping.

Day of Infamy is pretty good

Duke Nukem 3D, using Eduke 32 and the Polymer renderer, High resolution pack and dynamic lighting.. It is compatible with 4K and brings a whole new look to the very old game. It is constantly being updated too so really while released in 1996 it turns it very much into something from the mid 2000's..

I was pleasantly surprised at Doom (2016). I just played it for the first time last week and it really is straightforward and about as much as the originals you could want. Just with nice looking graphics and modern sound etc. It just works and the SP actually has a loose storyline that works. I was really amazed at how smoothly the movement and combat flowed.
