An unabashedly bro-y YouTuber who makes money by posting videos of his dumb bro-y antics nearly killed himself in his latest dumb video. Jay Swingler took his experimentation to a whole new level of idiocy when he put his head in a microwave and filled the appliance with Polyfilla, a spackling paste that’s supposed to fill holes in walls. Firefighters and EMS later came to chisel and cut the heap of plaster and metal in order to free his head.

Well, did the stuff protect him or did they pussy out before even trying the experiment? I need to know this stuff before I try microwaving my own brain. Thanks!

I challenge anyone to give me a good reason why I shouldn't be disappointed that he lived.
So you can laugh at his next suicidal endeavor? I challenge you to prove to us that you didn't find this even a little funny or have a chuckle just reading the description of what the fuck he was trying to do.

I agree though that this so asinine that no normal person should ever be able to sympathize with the survivor. At least people who go out doing things like free climbing mountains, doing handstands on motorcycles, tightrope walking between skyscrapers, etcetc, are actually doing something that pushes the limits of their skill, strength, coordination and mental fortitude, unlike this guy who was just pushing the limits of his stupidity.

Maybe he learned his lesson and will sort out cold fusion now?

Wait wait wait! He's going to do something even dumber next! Some people exist so we can all have a good yuck at their expense. It's like therapy.

While I'm sure I don't want to see any of his other videos, I really did get a good laugh out of that one.

So great, just gave him another view, he makes a little more money to continue to do shit like this, thanks Megalith!

So how did he almost die? I can't be bothered with watching the whole video, looks like he simply has a hose so he could breath and couldn't get the plaster off his head, that's hardly "almost dying"

the plaster either expanded or broke, and closed the tube. But yeah, seriously, I don't share shit I don't support. This guy doesn't deserve more views.

Tax payer money should not go toward this.

Need to fine him the cost of dispatching first responders... on top of his medical bills.
Exactly, and I'd extend the same "courtesy" to all people doing extreme sports. You wan't to put your life on the line, fine. But you should foot all the bills when shit goes wrong. It hardly qualifies as an accident when you're out there actively looking for trouble.

The really sad thing is... if I were the lead rescue person, and I arrived on site and they explained to me what he did, I'd be the one charged with murder for letting nature takes its course while sipping a cold beer and watching the show.

where do you live that they don't charge you? Is it normal for people to not be billed anything for dispatch? Around here if you call emergency services you get a bill. Ride in an ambulance to the hospital will run you about $1000. Them just coming out will run you a $100 - $250. Of course that is still being tax payer subsidized.

Good question he couldn't breathe, but that somehow didn't stop him from talking the whole time (that's where I stopped, ah well there's always a next time).

good thing for him that no one plugged the microwave in and turn it on

Why all the negativity, there are many worse activities we as a society do as a whole, while what we have here is one guy doing something epically stupid for entertainment.

Lucky for him, he lives in a country where emergency services still work, he was lucky to get out alive, and we get to see the show. Isn't it better that he tries to hurt himself rather than others in order to make a living?

He's hurting his family & everyone that cares about him also, had he died, they would have to live with it.

Hey, we save all kinds of people who do stupid things. OH, I have to build a deck, and use a circular saw. I think I'll start drinking at 9 a.m.. (then cuts his hand off). We put that one back together.
Welders who refuse to use eye protection, I get at least one of those a week. Rinse, put in meds to help the pain, send patient to eye specialist for follow up.

This numbskull was just pushing the envelope, and thought up something that he figured would make him famous. I'm sure in his mind, being famous would get him more pussy (assuming he was getting any at all in the first place, considering how stupid he is).

People are stupid. Some of them off themselves. Hopefully his stunt will be widely shown and no one else will do it.

Still way better than millions who engage in criminal activities and hurt the society, or their families (if they have any).

This is a perfect example of "if there is a market, someone will satisfy it" - we are ultimately amused by stunts, and people keep on pushing the envelope.

I am sure that many that we never heard of died doing entertainment stunts, but whatever it may be, as it's self inflicted, it is still a lot more positive behaviour than what many in his environment engage in order to survive.

*I am not really following his channel, but seeing the people involved, I am guessing what many of his peers participate in in order to make the ends meet, and this is certainly better, even though this one was a bit too close to call, but that's exactly what makes it marketable. If it was not him, it would have been someone else (and will be), it's the way of the world.

Watching the video, the impression I got was no different from one I would have gotten had he used his rectal orifice instead of a microwave.

Too much Jackass, too little common sense.

Given the regular things Youtube is de-monetizing, this video should be set to no-ads if they really cared what 'reckless behavior' being posted can influence people to repeat.

Eh... maybe he saved some grant money that was slated to be used to create a study to see if using Polyfilla in tight spaces could be dangerous.
