Even if Newegg was to sell to my country I would avoid that store as the plague. CoffeLake is cheaper to people like me. No sure why you pretend to convince me of the contrary.
But not everybody is you or lives where you do. ;)

If you're going to post prices to inform people of something, at least post it from a place like newegg where most people actually care about lol

The people from either side usually only post stuff that makes their favorite look the best. Which is why there are some people that may as well just post "Intel is the best and AMD sucks" instead of wasting their time.
We all know that they only see 1 side and they know who they are.... That is the good thing about [H] and their tests is that they don't care about sides.

Should be reminded that Europe, while the size of the continental US (and France is smaller than my beloved Texas!), has twice the population. Asia has significantly more.

The US market may be a 'halo' market, but it is by far not the largest. Prices across borders are fair game, IMO, especially since the internet and the [H] userbase also crosses said borders.

Yet the American market is massively bigger in sales. China is the only one that is beating us on some things and catching us in others, but America has been the largest consumer in the world for a long time.

In terms of single markets, I don't disagree, and the US market is a great global economic belwether. But at the same time, we should be open to the idea that prices and availability do differ around the world.

The US market is the smallest of the 3. Asia aka China number 1, EMEA aka Europe second and North America the US last. If you split Europe up, sure.

Europe is not 1 country, like China and the USA. Especially when the UK is checking out of that whole deal, it's hard to see that area as united.

You can't check out of a continent. The UK is leaving the European Union(EU) not Europe it self.

Then I guess you better include Canada, Mexico, Caribbean countries and Greenland then as well for the America's total. Now you see how silly it is to include a continent vs actual countries.

I've been scrolling back through this old post (pre-launch) and having a chuckle at the comments.
I'll toss it into the pile of shit BAPC was totally wrong about, along with classics like "2GB VRAM is enough" and "Async is important".

Delidded. Now to overclock. Any one link an OC guide please?

Sure. Neither everyone lives in America. The argument goes both ways.

Newegg only sells to a tiny part of the world, which does your argument moot. I find very interesting this strong reaction when I simply reported pricing in a popular store in my country. Is so difficult to accept that the i7-8700k is cheaper than the R7-1800X in my country?

Did you heard about the European Union (EU)? It is not a single country, but there is a single market with a single currency (the Euro), european laws, and free movement of people, goods, services, and capital. No problem with UK leaving.¹ Lots of other countries want to enter the EU.

¹ Many UK people that voted leaving the EU didn't know what was voting. The whole referendum was ridiculous. Many in the UK are now regretful and soliciting a new referendum.

Then when posting price/performance you might note that it's where you live.

I added links to the store. That would be enough. Moreover, this is no info about where I live. Pricing is similar in other parts where I don't live. Just because Newegg is milking some of you, it doesn't mean this happen in the rest of the world.

I have not bought from newegg in years. ;)
It works good for pricing and finding stuff is all.

I'm surprised nobody has made a kit for direct-die Intel CPU cooling. Something like the stock IHS, but just big enough to wrap around the CPU and attach to the socket clips, but the die is fully exposed in the middle.

edit: Although, watching the HardOCP naked die video makes it seem a lot more complicated. o_O

Sorry bro, never heard of the store you linked earlier with the inflated prices even on the Ryzen. The 1800X was only $299 a few days ago where I live.

US and China isn't a country sales wise either. But it doesn't change the fact that the North American market is the smallest of the 3.

In terms of market, the EU behaves as a single unit. There is even less restrictions in the EU market than between buying in states in the US.

"Settled" on a 5ghz clock on all cores @1.32v. Temps are 75° stress testing. Had to use 1.4v to boot into Windows at 5.1ghz.

4.9ghz seemed to be the sweet spot so far @1.26v. 68° stress testing. But......My Epeen wants to see 5ghz.

Will have to try 4.8 clocks next.

The US strikes again...."center of world"....ofh wait....what is that....not the primary nor the secondary market...but the third most important market.
(And don't get me started on the "imperical scales")...

EU only functions because Germany pays for it, almost all other countries are a net loss and draw money from EU, they do not contribute, you wonder why other poor countries want to 'join the eu'. It's a welfare program basically.

Uk wants to leave to stop hordes of economic migrants from Africa and eastern EU coming there and demanding welfare and free $, to the detriment of people who have lived there their entire life, it's genocide, plain and simple. The reason you think they are 'regretful' is because you believe the media pushing that, because they want to destroy the EU via the kalergi plan, which has been followed to the dotted line. The same media said clinton was '98%' sure of winning.
I was on the German border in 2015 when the invaders started to come. The village I lived in changed over a few weeks, it was very sad to see. Africa for Africans, Asia for Asians, but how dare Europeans have Europe for themselves, right? White people are a global minority at 10%, but somehow that doesn't count if you're white.

So, back to those new egg prices, is the 8700k 25% faster than the 1800x?

You need to do some research if that's what you think. o_O

Did you actually look at your own image properly? A majority are net loss. X is the 'contribution'.
As I said, Germany pays for most of it, almost twice the nearest country, thanks for confirming that. Netherlands, UK, Germany and Sweden are the only people who put in more than they take out. Considering this data is pre-invasion, I'd say Sweden is no longer a net contributor or pulling even.
You see why UK wants to get out? They are subsidising the destruction of their own culture and have had enough. Less of them have the guilt trip complex instilled in them like the city living Germans do.
P.s. I have a UK passport (alongside another) and this doesn't benefit me with them leaving EU, it makes my business harder. That said, visting UK since 90s, it has been a steady decline to where it may as well be another country when you're in some parts of London and other main cities. Really not a fan of London at all and it's only getting worse. Paris is much the same.

Germany pays around 1/3rd of the net contribution. Your comment was simply idiotic.

Net contributors are Germany, France, Italy, UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Austria and Finland. Listed by order of contribution amount.

Point is, it was not innacurate at all, you're just acting butthurt now.
LOL and you changed the graph after the assblasting. Nice one bro!

I changed the graph to something that showed value as well.

I dont see you documenting your claim funny enough and I think we all know why :)

And I guess you dont know how small the net contribution really is for the countries. Its pennies in reality.

German federal budget is around 1250B€, give or take. Their net contribution is 7½B€. Same applies for the rest. Its a decimal number in the budgets. And then we dont even talk about any benefits that affects elsewhere than direct contributions or receiving.

All done. A few things I learned:
1. Silicone adhesive is messy.
2. Tape down the CPU before you attempt to scrape off the old adhesive/paste.
3. Applying and spreading LM is the easiest part.

I used Conductonaut (under IHS) + Kryonaut (above IHS)

I'll post back in a few hours once it's done drying.

EDIT: Average load temps at 5 GHz down about 10-15C, from the mid-70's to low 60's.
Peak temp down precisely 13C.

Idle temps are unchanged, surprisingly.
