Has anyone have luck with these things? I own a Death Adder Chroma I picked it up on clearance at Walmart.
I'm actually afraid to use it since I know these thing develop the double click error but I never owned one up until a month ago. I like everything about the mouse not too big not too small and it's textured maybe I'll save that for the Overclock.net mouse fetish thread ;) Using a logitech Pro currently because I know it won't break on me totally.

I haven't tried the latest DA Elite yet (I hear good things though), but every Razer mouse I've owned (and I've owned lots) ends up with the double click syndrome. It can take anywhere between one to three years for it to show up. It's pretty much a guarantee.

And for the record, the double click issue is THE only issue I've ever had with Razer mice.

If you love the feel of the mouse, like me, then you get over it or simply don't care. For all we know it's a built in failure mechanism to get you the upgrade to the latest. Seems to be working on me.

In any event, it's general knowledge that you don't buy Razer mice if longevity is a priority.

Been using my DA Chroma since 5/16 and no doubleclick yet. I did have the doubleclick issue / no click issue on regular DA.

I had a couple of the original Death Adders. They don't take well to being slammed on the desk. But they were good when they lasted. I'm on a Zowie now, and my temper is a little more in check. I usually just punch myself in the head instead of breaking mice.

I have owned several death adders and they have been mostly good. Normally mine start to fail to register left clicks and sort of make gaming impossible. But replacing them every 2 years or so does not seem excessive. The one I currently use has a scroll wheel with a mind of its own.

It happens. I'm just a sore loser.
I don't mind losing, but I get frustrated and angry pretty easily since I've been under high stress the last few years. I've actually started visiting forums again to help bring my stress levels down.

I have had 3 DAs and they only last me about a year. I recently picked up a Logitech G502 and found it to be the best mouse I have ever owned.

I have one of the Original Death Adder mice and have never had an issue. I bought it about 6 years ago.

I've only had a couple of Razer mice and they all died on me in less than a year. They start showing extreme wear after only a few weeks, two a couple months or so. In 6 months, they look like half melted dog shit. Razer keyboards are worse. I've seen so many compatibility and firmware issues that I wouldn't bother with them even if they started using Cherry switches again.

I've had good luck with the old school purple-ish diamondbacks. I bought a bunch of refurbed ones a ways back and they all worked until I got bored and decided to switch a setup to something else. I still pull one out of the storage drawer to use when testing new builds and they all still seem to work just fine.

Could be like most companies though, the original / old school stuff was built to a higher standard / better quality than the newer versions - which are built to a price-point.

I didn't think so. The original Razer Boomslang was a cheap piece of shit.

I own a Razer Naga Epic Chroma I preordered before they even came out. Lasted about 2 years. It's developed this weird error where it's pressing Ctrl + Page up Randomly when I press the left mouse click. Then it looses window focus, unable to left click on anything until I use Ctrl Esc to bring up the Start menu. It's really weird how random it is, sometimes it happens every time, sometimes it may go hours. Unplug the mouse and everything is perfect. My Advice. Stick with Logitech.

I rarely kill Logitech mice. I normally replace them when something new and shiny comes out that I have to have rather than for any serious need to do so.

Other than the Razers, I also bought a bunch of Logitech G700 (originals not the S models) and they were great but died from the "no left click" while the Razers just kept on trucking under similar use / load.

I have an original diamondback from 2004-05 or something like that. Still works fine.

My original DA Chroma fell to the double click issue right at the end of the warranty. Went to Razer to see what options I had, and they replaced the mouse for me even though I had just passed the warranty period. So now that DA Chroma is still in it's box while I use the DA Chroma Elite. Been about a year since replacement and no issues yet.

Best mouse I've ever had. I mean, it could use this thing on a completely transparent coffee table glass without any issue. Worked like a charm on any surface, really.

Nothing on today's market even compares with this thing. Yes, the coating wasn't perfect and it eventually died on me that sensor and shape are amazing

Couldn't have said it better, myself! I love this thing and treat it like a Stradivarius. When it finally goes to meet its maker, I'll be a very sad Commander. I absolutely despise the soft rubber coating on so many of today's mice.

I should've bought 5 back in the days. Man, it's been more than a decade lol

I've always used Logitech but know a few people who have had/still have Razer mice and it seems like they have problems after a while. I've not had the greatest luck with Logitech either though. Seems like they newer ones are wearing out faster than the old ones.

I picked up a DA Elite at Fry's earlier tonight.

When I went to Customer Service to have them price-match a Rival 310, the guy was so adamant I'd prefer the DA Elite that he let me take them both out of the package and fiddle with em....

I gotta admit, the DA Elite felt SO MUCH BETTER in my hand!!

Regardless, I'll be setting it up later tonight and post back with impressions tomorrow-ish....

(Gonna keep the receipt in my wallet for the next 30 days though, just in case)

Ok after having problems cramping while playing Titan Quest with my logitech proetus and my hand cramping up from G900 Chaos I picked up a Death Adder Elite I already have a Chroma but they don't make the Chroma anymore so I rather wear out an Elite mouse instead nothing to lose.
The best way to get rid of bad mice is wait like 10 years for them to be scarce and stop making them then sell them for a 50% markup on ebay. Unless it's a Logitech G9X you don't know what a cult following came from that mouse. I never tried one myself but would like to try it out somedday. If they brought back the G9X people would swarm the pacific ocean to get to mainland China just to get one.

I have a Logitech G700s and it was a good mouse up until a few months ago where I realized that the right click would not longer function correctly when you hold it down. I noticed it big time when trying to play Shadow of War recently. That heavily relies on holding down the right mouse button to perform certain moves. It would release the click even though i was still physically holding down the button. I'm not sure if i should pull it apart and look at it but i don't want to jack it up even more if I do. It was 90 bucks back when i bought it and i don't really want to drop that kinda of money on another gaming mouse if I don't have to. Kind of a catch 22 I guess.
Previously I had a G7 which I think was its predecessor.....it was a pretty damn good mouse, it just sucked the battery had to be swap so frequently, but they included the quick charging station and 2 batteries. Before that i had a g5 i think which was a wired mouse. That too was pretty good. I kind of think their quality is starting to drop as each generation comes out.

It's the omron switches they use that wear out. I had that problem in 2 G7s which were both replaced for free by Logitech. The G700s has switches with double the durability and their newer mice have switches with even more durability than those. I am not sure the newest still use omron.

Had one of Razer's MMO mice a few years back. Lasted a year before the dreaded double-click issue started happening. Switched to Logitech, and never had an issue like that since.

I've been using a Razer Elite for the past year no problems with it so far. Suprised actually the only problem I did have was the scroll wheel got some crumbs inside and just shook them out. I wish it had a tilt wheel because I could use it for Grim Dawn for potions.

I decided to go Razer after I won a 1300 Razer Laptop off Retail Edge. No longer belong to the program but it was fun for the 3 years I belonged to it.

I have three G602's and one of them developed the same double-click after two years of hard service. I do occasionally wear out or break Logitech mice. Most have generally been replaced because I wanted to try something new, but I've occasionally had to replace specific models here and there. It normally takes about two years or so but I'm on my computer so damn much its probably four or five times normal usage. Between playing games, writing reviews and general computing tasks I can easily spend 12+ hours a day using these things. There are times where I'll be on this machine for 18+ hours without any rest to speak of.

I've worn down the feet of many mice. They all end up with that glossy sheen all over the contact points with my hands. I've worn out buttons on a Corsair mouse in under six months. Razer in similar time and I've broken three R.A.T. MMO7 mice. However, their regular non-MMO version of the same mouse is still good to go. I still use it on some machines from time to time.

Almost all these companies use Omron micro switches for their LMB/RMB. Basically it's just going to the luck of draw.
