No reason to rub it inI just bought the game the other day, fresh install, no issues for me.
It's still the best Diablo 2 clone out there, in my opinion. I even enjoy it more the Path of Exile. Still looks good, strong build diversity, good game mechanics, functional UI. The boss fights just are not as interesting as some modern ARPGs out there are.I've always wondered about this game, has it aged well?
Just checked my version. That's the version I have. The latest beta has some updates the executable to further increase compatibility with modern systems, so it could help you out. 1.42 is the latest version and what I am running on Windows 10.

For frame drops, does it occur when you are using TP to teleport from 1 area to another?
If that is the case, frame drop of that kind has been around for ever, the source lies in the fact that during that teleportation, the game is saving your character's data, and if you had put your game or documents folder on a spinner, it will stutter.
RAM disk solved that particular issue for me at least, I think SSD would also solve that. I haven't really looked too deep into it though, Titan Quest, for some reason, could never capture me like Grim Dawn did, no idea why.
Kinda.I find my 256GB SSD keeps my gaming focused on a few titles instead of suffering "Steam bloat".
If you follow..
Kinda.
I am a data hoarder though, if I download something, I usually don't delete it. I have numerous games that I have downloaded and played for 10 minutes and then leaving it there.
I haven't hit the storage cap on my Steam partition on the spinner yet, my 480GB SSD gets filled up from time to time, but I move it from the SSD to the spinner. I hate having downloaded a game, delete it due to space, then having to download it again later down the line.
Still requires me saving the game elsewhere, which brings me back to my original point, there is no point in keep moving a game back and forth from a spinner to an SSD if it isn't going to be benefitting from SSD, may as well leave it on the spinner to save the hassle of moving it around.Steam Backup is your friend.
Still requires me saving the game elsewhere, and restoring it also takes a little time.
May as well save it in a playable state, especially if the game in question runs off spinners as well as SSDs (which is actually more often than not).
I was replying to your comment of "How anyone on [H] could game off a mechanical drive in 2017, blows my f***ing mind.", My reply was "I do because plenty of games don't run better on SSD".If you wanna hoard data, that's your call friendo.
Negative, I saw the most FPS drop in a cave. To the point the game almost crashed. And I noticed when I try to exit the game, it sits for a long time before it exits.I game off my mechanical if there is no benefit of it running on an SSD.
For example, some games load fast enough on a spinner that going on an SSD isn't really much faster, I'd run it off spinner.
Other games have things built in that makes them load slower than usual. FF13 is one such candidate, it loads in the same amount of time on an SSD and a HDD, no idea why.
I reserve SSD space solely for the games that could make use of the loading time (open worlds generally), otherwise it's on HDD.
The reason is because this game was made for Windows XP originally, so I'm not surprised you're running into issues with Win98 compatibility. Try XP or 7 compatibility, instead.Negative, I saw the most FPS drop in a cave. To the point the game almost crashed. Edit - Turned off AA and it was running smooth for awhile, but I ran back into that cave and it went back to shit.

I changed it to XP and 7 and I get a "TQ.exe has stopped working" and I take off compatibility mode and that's when there is no mouse. It only works in 98. This sucks, because I really enjoy the game... when it's not running like dog shit. The reason is because this game was made for Windows XP originally, so I'm not surprised you're running into issues with Win98 compatibility. I hate you so much. lol, joking.I don't get it man, you're having all these problems. I'm on Win 10, Titan-XP, AA on, not running compatibility mode. My mouse worked fine. No FPS drops. Maybe you should just reformat lol
Couple things to try with an invisible mouse cursor with no compatibility mode active:I changed it to XP and 7 and I get a "TQ.exe has stopped working" and I take off compatibility mode and that's when there is no mouse. But seriously, this is annoying!
Have you tried posting on the TQ forums?
If anybody knows a solution, its bound to be them..
Tried these alreadyCouple things to try with an invisible mouse cursor with no compatibility mode active:
Reduce PPI scaling back to 100% if you changed it.
Run the game in full screen if you're trying windowed or windowed borderless.
Set the in-game scaling to Medium if you changed it.
Run the game at 60 Hz refresh rate if you're trying to run it higher, or use and FPS cap that is set to 62 FPS (the game bugs out at framerates over 60 FPS, anyway).
So there is some New DlC called Ragnarok on steam is this fresh 2017 dlc added to the core game?
Pick up? The game is basically the same throughout, like any ARPG out there. Unless you mean your toon, since it takes a long time to level and get relatively strong. Plus, everyone is going to progress at their own pace, so 4 hours for you isn't going to be the same 4 hours for someone else. It takes me about 15-20 hours to get through normal difficulty.
This game doesn't pick up untill you get about 4 hours in depends on your class as well I picked Spirit and Defense based on some FAQ Guide: https://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/928126-titan-quest/faqs/45898
I'm glad I waited 11 years to play this game looks great with Gsync and 1440P plus I'm sure they uped the graphics after 10 years =)
