If the 128 GB version price doesn't rise much I guess I could buy one (I'd get it free from my employer).

Image 29 isn't the 5T. Looks like the Xioami Mix 2 judging by the bezels (large bottom bezel gives it away). While I agree I think it's the camera shots. Look at image 29. That one looks decent. I will reserve my judgement for real hands on. I agree the all black body based on those shots make it look really cheap looking. Battery is fine plus with the Lower res screen helps as well. Let's hope all is good.
Oreo update coming by end of 2017 Per Android Central. So that's a plus. Should have shipped with Oreo but I could wait a month or so, that's not a deal breaker
I would not bank on anything OnePlus says as they are all about #HYPE but not so good about following up on it.
So basically they are the same as every other company
If you have followed OnePlus from the start with the One you would realize how incorrect that statement is.
Only real change from the 5 to 5T will be the screen and rear sensor. I've pretty much ruled out picking up a 5T, now. Not enough "there" there for me to justify the move from my 5, which is working great for me.Looks like minor improvements over the 5 relative to the camera so don't get your hopes up that it will compete with Google, Samsung or Apple.

#neversettle... for a secure phone
After my initial enthusiasm, I decided to pass on the 5T because it just doesn't offer enough to convince me it's worth the jump from the 5. This latest news, in addition to the disclosure of OP secretly collecting user data, has dimmed my perception of the company. I like my 5 a lot, and with a custom ROM blocking any data collection, plan to stick with it for a while. Is this "backdoor / root" issue going to cause anyone to walk away? I'm probably still in for a 5T. Wondering what the rest of you are thinking today.

As the one who started this thread, the irony is not lost to me that the phone I really want is the new HTC U11 Plus.Yeah if I had a perfectly working OP 5 in hand I'd probably be content with that. I've had it with my iPhone 7 plus, I gotta get something else.

I hope to find a way to import it. So far, Aliexpress is the only place I've seen it. Not sure I'm willing to trust them with $800. Hopefully, it'll be available elsewhere soon.
Same for me on the 5T. If I can't get an HTC U11 Plus, I, too, will see if the V30 can be rooted. Still thinking about trying another Pixel 2 XL. In the end, it could be that I just stick with my OP5 until next year.No price change supposedly now:

It's too bad the OP5T has almost slipped off my radar now. I'm more waiting to see if the V30 gets rooted or else just skipping a generation.
How's the battery life on the LG? There are some new, unopened V30s on Swappa for $600 that are very tempting. For $499 hard to find a better brand new phone at that price.
Yes the Pixel 2 XL is better, but is it almost double the price better at $950 ? HELL NO.
I just got the V30 from T-Mobile that I Pixel'lized with the Pixel 2 launcher, Google Phone app, Google Calendar, Google everything, and this V30 is smoking good.
But if I didn't just get the V30 I'd ABSOLUTELY get the OnePlus 5t
