I need help to find out which PCI size this card is. It is an NVidia GT640. It goes into an HP 700-330qe. I want to upgrade my video but I don't remember what kind of PCI it is or PCIe
Thanks

OK, But I'm looking for a 1x or 16x response. Something along those lines. I want to get a newer card with more horsepower. It looks like it is a 16x card.

That's a 16 lane PCI-E slot you have on your motherboard. Any PCI-E GPU that's runs at 16x or less will work in there. Considering you have a 4770k or 4790 in there, you can run any modern GPU your power supply is able to handle. I'm not sure what brand the power supply your PC came with, but if it's high quality, 500w PSU (a little unlikely), you could run something like a 1070/1070ti. Otherwise I'd throw a 1060 (which would be like 4 or 5 tiers ahead of a GT640) in there and call it a day.

Whatever you get be prepared to grab a new power supply 500-750watt to be safe if the one you have is aged. Random black screens and restarts and shut downs is what can happen if the power supply is old and warn to where it's not putting out it's rated watts anymore.

If it's a smaller case with not great air flow do with a blower style founders edition card thst will pump the heat out the back but will be louder then a dual/triple fan card. If it don't have multiple exhaust fans in thst case it will cook the card in the 80-90c range.
