The 2017 Steam Halloween Sale just went live, cutting prices on horror games, horror virtual reality titles, and horror movies. Well, the deals aren’t limited to horror titles — there are plenty of non-Halloween-themed items on sale as well. Valve’s sale runs for the next six days, from now until 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Nabbed mother russia bleeds for 3.74$. Not many games in my wishlist in this sale.

Maybe I've been spoiled by their sales in the past, but nothing is jumping out at me. I remember getting Fallout 3 and NV GOTY editions for $5.00 (maybe it was $10.00, but I know it wasn't more). It seems like I used to buy games even when I wasn't really looking to, the price was just too good to pass up. I haven't been seeing that for some time now. Or maybe it's just me?

I think with the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Winter sales bunched up so close together they don't really give you the best deals for all of them...probably have to wait until the Winter sale in December to get the real low price sales...S.O.M.A has been $7.49 for the past few Steam sales...same with some of the other prices I see for their Halloween sale

Once again... too much shit to sift through, I don't have time to play most games much less see what's available. Fine lets use the helpful selections tool.

Single player games... goes from 12453 to 11582... hmmm that certainly didn't help. Ah ha only games, well that knocked it down to 7371 games, but more importantly only 295 pages to browse through instead of 499. Ok only strategy games since those tend to be ones you can get in play for 15 minutes then save and come back when you have some time. 1625 games ... oh well fuck it, I don't have time for games.

Waiting for GTA5 to be like $15 too. Its 4 years old already.
Im afraid I have some bad news then, GTA5 won't be $15 any time this decade.

That's the beauty of Rockstar games - they invest in making a strong enough game to begin with that they never have to devalue their IP with firesales.

The good news is it's still a no brainer at $30 for a playthrough, the SP campaign is amazing. The PC port was also pretty much perfection in terms of graphics options, running well and being bug free. The MP however is still a hackerfest, at least last I heard.

XCom 2 Deluxe is 29.99. Not bad but a little to high still.
Witcher 3 Goty is 19.99 which is worth it.
Mass effect 2 never seems to drop below 4.99.
Resident evil 7 is 29.99. That price dropped fast.

Payday 2 is trash.
Prey is trash.

MP is great if playing with friends for the heist missions and a few other things but yeah, many hackers out there. Most aren't too annoying thankfully.

.
I dunno I got GTA4 and the expansion about 2 years after release for 60% off, then the very next Steam sale bam 9.99 for each item. Of course this was back when Steam had the option of lowering the prices to extreme levels for a day or 2, not the same price on day 1 of the sale

Boring, if you're not a horror fan. Nothing else of note is up for a decent discount on my wishlist. Oh well.

Given my current Steam backlog of games I've never even installed, I should sit this one out.
Ok, I know I'm going to look and end up buying a few games (that get added to my backlog...) . I need to do my part to keep Gabe on the richest people list, right?

Am mildly tempted by the deluxe version of Darksiders 2. At some point I want to do a playthrough of those games again and I only have the deluxe version of the first game.

Hey whatever floats your boat. I won't judge you for wasting money on games with no resale value that you don't have time to play.

Meh ...Steam sales have been shit really ever since they changed the format a couple of years ago.
Exactly, purchased almost nothing on steam since, alternative sites, and even retail is much cheaper normally. Steam sale prices now = regular price on GMG or cdkeys.

GTA V is different from IV in that it has the online component that is still going. A lot of people didn't really like IV, whereas V is still popular and the mp is still populated. I agree with DPI, I don't think you'll see those kind of prices on V for a good long while.

How was S.O.M.A.? Haven't played it yet.

SOMA is excellent. The voice acting ranges from not too great to half-way decent :D but the game itself is great. Highly recommend it. It's not a shooter though, so if you're expecting combat, it's probably not for you. Quite good though IMO. I enjoyed the entire game.
