Report: Israel Hack Uncovered Russian Spies’ Use of Kaspersky in 2015

An Israeli security agency hacked into Russian antivirus firm Kaspersky Lab in 2015, providing the crucial evidence required to ban the company from providing services to the US government, according to a report. While the Israeli spies were inside Kaspersky’s systems, they observed Russian spies in turn using the company’s tools to spy on American spies.

On Sept. 13, the Department of Homeland Security ordered all federal executive branch agencies to stop using Kaspersky products, giving agencies 90 days to remove the software. That directive, which some officials thought was long overdue, was based, in large part, on intelligence gleaned from Israel’s 2014 intrusion into Kaspersky’s corporate systems. It followed months of discussions among intelligence officials, which included a study of how Kaspersky’s software works and the company’s suspected ties with the Kremlin.

Didn't the antivirus from Kaspersky just find unknown malware on that NSA employee's private PC (because he took work home, which is illegal) and uploaded it for analysis (like ANY antivirus would and should do) and this way NSA-created malware was found by a russian company, that was hacked by the Israelis, warning the US about the Russians hacking the US? It's like a bad movie, actually. But I can't see how the Kaspersky are the bad guys there. The NSA is creating malware to attack, the Israelis hack russian companies - and the blame goes to Russia?

The point is they are vulnerable to Russian hacking which means the are compromised. The Russian hacking machine could have source and analyze weaknesses on Kaspersky protected machines.
 
Holy shit this crazy. I'm glad I've never used Kapersky software.

Russians are crooked. I always see russian based public IPs hitting my firewall (and thats been going on for years).
 
We have the news articles but where are they getting their information from or is this just more fake news to make the Russians look bad? Who is actually spilling the beans? I also thought the US govt used Symantec Endpoint like many major companies and not Kaspersky? Again, just want to know where the initial leak is coming from about any hack or is this all made up news?
 
why spy, why cant we just be one world living in peace. Look how big the Universe is, it seem our planet is the only one that has LIFE. Lets all enjoy life, its government power control and money that turns this world into hate and spies and criminals, etc..

Could it be a search engine? the do have those apparently.
On a side note. Part of what I don't get is: is Russia a 3rd going on 4th world broke country, or are they a mysterious super power with super hacking weapons?
I mean for years I read in US media just how fucked up they are, and how behind they are falling, now suddenly, its like an ethereal ever-present threat of a massive power.
Shit do they even have a top 10 super computer?
