Ok first off; The phone isn't stolen and "Find My Iphone" is disabled. The phone is locked to Tmobile and blacklisted for the EIP non payment. I bought this off Craigslist in the beginning of this year, I didn't realize the new scam people were running with selling T-mobile EIP phones and then not paying the bill. SOOOO my cool new phone worked for 2 months and then one day service stopped, long story short Tmobile told me I was SOL.

Iphone 7 32gb White. Screen isn't cracked. Has screen protector on it that is but the glass itself is clean. Use it as an Ipod, a wifi device, use it in Africa? Maybe you are T3h L33t and want to flash it??? I don't know or care.

wow good luck im same scenario helping one friend with one 6.

Exactly! I don't get mad often(really ever) when talking to CS, because generally its not their faults but to not let me pay the balance and then telling me tough titties. I lost it with them, and 3 levels of CS above them. Got a bill credit but that wasn't what I wanted. I even asked them when I bought phone if it was free and clear and they said it was (they can't disclose account info if its not your account so they didn't tell me it was EIP just it wasn't blacklisted).

I had this happen to me. Bought an Iphone 7 plus earlier this y ear on craigslist through sprint. Had unpaid balance. Seller disappeared blocked my number.

Went on ebay and found those unlock services that I paid $60 for. After two weeks, my phone was no longer blacklisted and it has a clean imei and they unlocked it. Bought applecare plus for it and dropped it a couple months later and took it to apple, they exchanged it for me with a refurbished one.

Try those unlock services on ebay.

EDIT: I tried to pay off the balance through sprint and was denied as well because don't have original owners information. But called them later after I did the unlock service and they noted that the IMEI was clean and asked if I wanted to unlock.

If it wasn't sim locked to tmobile I'd take it in a heartbeat.
It'll work fine here in Ireland.

I hate US carriers. T-Mobile's behavior was blatantly anti consumer. I only sell phones on Craigslist and would NEVER buy. Always use PayPal for buying used phones. You have a 6 month return policy, which is horrendous for sellers but great for buyers.

If it has warranty still, why not chuck it against the floor, and pay the couple hundred to get a new one that isnt blacklisted, or does that not work?

The IMEI thats on it gets carried over to the new phone.

Also, accidental damage only covered under Applecare +

I meant the information such as unpaid etc. yeah IMEI is like the serial number so it won’t have the exact same numbers.

Won’t transfer either

Apple has no connection with any Service providers server list of blacklisted devices.

When Apple does phone swaps or even sell phones they are fully unlocked with no lock downs

Pretty sure I almost got scammed on Heatware, dude wouldn't contact me through here gave me the ole forgot password excuse. Spidy Senses said no after he paid and the address was a shipping center/forwarding center in a different state then his Heatware. ANYHOW

Price LOWERED IMEI and Model added. Thanks.

IMEI can’t be carried over. It’s unique to each individual device

Not true. I have experience with this first hand. Even if it has a different imei the information still transfers.

The phone I bought on Craigslist was unpaid. It was still eligible for AppleCare plus so I thought I’d be clever and just purchase AppleCare plus and break the phone and get another one. I sent the phone in to Apple and they sent me a new one (refurbished). I tried my sim and the phone was locked. I checked the new phones imei and it was different but entering the information into the websites where you can check imei status revealed the same exact thing that was on the phone that I broke and sent in. I called sprint to try and unlock this new phone and they said the same thing, unpaid.

Apple does not send you an unlocked phone, they send you a phone specific to the original carrier.

Simply put, the imei information carries over. Google search says the same thing... so I paid for those unlock services and they wipe the imei on the new phone and then I was able to unlock it.

Sorry to hijack thread op free bump!

Just some advice - if you pay a third party unlocker to unlock it - you can sell it internationally - TMO, ATT and such agree to black list phones in the us but not over seas. I am not sure if that holds true for TMO over seas but I know people will buy blacklisted iphones unlock them and sell them in south america

Very true and I have read this as well. I have no desire to mess with that crap. I have been buying and selling ALONG time, it’s how I afford my hobbies. I’m very savvy when it comes to online scams and hate eBay and PayPal. I got bit though in person(after shaking hands no doubt). I bought a new phone from Costco full price and just trying to bring that cost down.

I haven’t tried any of those unlocking services. The phone is sitting in a box with a label waiting for someone’s address. They can unlock it and sell it to a Columbian for 500 rubies.
