Netflix has pulled an episode of a children’s show “Maya the Bee” after what appeared to be a penis was spotted etched on a tree trunk in the background of a scene. The offending episode was Season 1, episode 35 of the series, and Netflix has yet to make a statement about the penis’ presence or the removal of the episode. It’s also unclear whether Netflix, which didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment, will re-edit the scene and put it back up.

Chey Robinson, a concerned mother, appears to have been the first to share a clip from the show, writing on Facebook, “Please be mindful of what your kids are watching. I did NOT edit any images whatsoever, this is ‘Maya the Bee,’ Season 1, Episode 35. I know I’m not going crazy and I know that something like this shouldn’t be in a kids’ show whatsoever. I’m extremely disgusted by it, there should be no reason my kids have to see something like this. I don’t know if they’re gonna do something about this or what, but there’s no reasons why this should be in this show.”

Disgruntled CGI artist? Seems like a dumb way to risk your job, I mean it wasn't even hidden, that's a pretty blatant dick on that trunk.

This isn't exactly the first time an animator who's either bored, underpaid or just making a joke adds something dirty into childrens cartoon which then accidentally slips through the preview cracks. Anyone remember the priest with a boner in first editions of the Little Mermaid? And there are more examples. :D

Hollywood, they can't even leave little kids show alone.

Whoever did this should be fire, and never be allowed to work in animation again.

Instead they will probably have lots of new job offers.

This is a venerated tradition for animators, to try to sneak in references in places they don't belong. That show is in it's 3rd season now, with nearly 80 episodes in a season, so what else did everyone miss?

When I was a kid my mom spotted a bit of sideboob in an episode of Ren & Stimpy. That was nearly the end of that show in our house.

Obviously she didn't go far enough. I'm just another genmay degenerate

I think Netflix is getting geared up for Season 2 of American Vandal.

Ren and Stimpy wasn't exactly the saint of wholesome children's TV in any household lol

Who remembers Rocko's Modern Life? "Oh baby, oh baby, oh baby..." and Rocko squeezing the bears balls on the bush.

Well if kids dont know how to draw a dick, how are we going to pass the torch to the next generation?

Or how about doing something with them instead of sitting them in front of the boob tube all day?
That's a bit unfair. Parents can get tired. Taking care of a kid can is super fun and rewarding but after dozens of months without vacations or weekends or holidays, people sometimes need an hour to themselves, even if it's just to rest and recharge batteries. In the old days they were entrusted to their cousins or their 12 older brothers. Now the whole family can be just the parents and if a video can get them to entertain themselves without their parents for an hour, that can make the difference between making it to the next day or collapsing.

Reminds me of Superbad. :D

Edit: Oops, totally missed the video above.

If that's the worse thing your kid sees for half a second during a cartoon, I'm not going to worry much.

Exactly. I'd rather that was there for half a sec than my kids strolling in while my wife and I are watching Game of Thrones or something and somebody is getting chopped to bits.

I watched this movie and was shocked at what was in there.

Wizards, Heavy Metal... Cartoons can be pretty bad when it comes to sex.

Never watched the one in the OP, though. Although.... the new movie Sing was pretty good. It was pretty funny. Plot sucked, but it was funny.

Some people seriously have no life if they have time to sit around and look for dicks in children's cartoons...
Some people are seriously sick if they think a crude drawing of a normal bodypart is somehow damaging to a child. Those kids' heads are gonna explode on biology class.

Or who knows, maybe they'll just use Ken and Barbie also on the biology lesson. The kids will feel quite anxious when they notice they have a completely abnormal physiology under the blanket lol.

And yet the Family Guy dood has had nuts for a chin for many seasons and no one says a thing.

hahaha stupid woman. Either the kid won't notice because they don't get it so it doesn't matter, or they will notice because they do get it, therefore it still then doesn't matter.

Srsly... OH MY GO---- Is that...? Is that a... PENIS?!

Quick, rewind! Now analyze closely. Zoom.... Adjust... zoom... adjust... Yes! That's a penis! Quick, better report it! God forbid little children learn about something that all humans have (sexual organs)

Obviously the picture is inappropriate, but geez.
At least Netflix pulled it immediately, should prevent any further outrage I would hope.

We're one of the few 'first world countries' were basic, natural human anatomy causes parents (usually helicopter moms) to scream THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

Netflix has a show called 'Big Mouth' where early teens are drawn and talk like 8 year olds. Nothing like a seeing an 8 year old depicted as having a back and forth conversation with her vagina to make you go 'wtf?'.

I know it's off topic but can anybody help me with my programming? I have a variable, D, which gets randomly set. I want compare it to see if the number 8 is sometimes equal to D. But I don't know which operator to use, is it one of the following?
8=D
8==D

I hope me asking this question is not offensive to anyone.

I didn't realize this until just now when I searched it, but Netflix carries a show called Embarrassing Bodies, which is a British BBC show that has been around for years.
https://www.netflix.com/title/80189438

I've watched it before on YouTube. It's a stellar show and something I think should be shown here in the US. It addresses the "issues" that people have with their body and shows it in detail and describes living with it and stuff. I'm not talking about AIDS or anything, I'm talking about just normal problems that normal people suffer from, but are too embarrassed to discuss in public (and private even). The show displays all parts of the human body, but it's something that needs to be known.

You think about how many people walk around in discomfort because of some issue (like hemorrhoids for example) because they think it's normal or are too embarrassed to just show up at the doctor and get it fixed. I have Lipoma which causes small bumps under the skin. I don't really talk about it. But I met someone that had them much worse then me once and it was nice being able to talk to someone about it without any embarrassment (he had them bad enough to require surgury).

There's a tooon of stuff in Rocko's Modern life like this that flew way over my head as a kid.

Side note: glad they're bringing back Rocko. Looks to be good based on that trailer they recently released.

Odd thing. They started showing the old Rockos for a while, and I think they must have lost the license for the B-52 theme song, because it was a different, inferior version of the theme song. Lame. I'm not exactly a huge B-52 fan or anything, but that theme song was great for the show. Just started rewatching my Invader Zim collection. Got me thinking, I really need a Game Slave 2!
