I just did some major desk upgrades and moved my X34 onto an adjustable arm. I'm thinking of adding another monitor or two to the mix. I'm leaning toward one or two 27" 1440p monitors on the sides.

Any X34 owners have secondary monitors? What size and setup?

Which arm did you end up going with? I am looking for something to mount my X34 on as well. I have considered grabbing a 17" monitor to mount in portrait to have monitoring software, and discord open on.

No matter what you do, try not to use a lower refresh rate for companion monitors.

Diverging refresh rates can unexpectedly interfere with good full-refresh-rate operation on the primary, whether in normal-multi-monitor or true surround mode. I hear lots of complaints with that.

Alternatively, if you run into problems, you can also just use third party software to automatically disable side monitors to re-enable G-SYNC and high-Hz operation on the primary/center monitor.

Ah crap.

Great to keep that in mind. I was going to go with a 240 Hz and use my U3011s beside it. So I can game and do other things. I won't now.

I'm in the same boat. I love my X34, but it's doesn't work great for everything. My ASUS 28" 1080P monitors are OK but that whole difference in the resolution is a pain when dragging windows and needing to resize them all the time.

I have been looking at the Acer XB271HU and the Dell S2716DG

They are almost identical except the Acer is an IPS panel and the Dell is a TN. The 2K resolutions should match up very well and both have a native refresh rate of 144HZ I think I can match them up fine with the X34.

My X35 is on a Ergotron arm and both of these are 100x100 Vesa mountable so I can do the same with either.

I'm been looking for a deal on Acer's recertified sore for the XB271HU but I am seeing a decent price for the Dell on Amazon ($522), and it's hard to hold off going with a new Dell over a recertified Acer.

Also, it looks like the Sony KD43X720E TV makes a decent 4K display and that's an options as well, they run about $580 right now.

I got the Amazon arm. It's really high quality and holds the X34 beautifully.

I think the one I bought was this one;
Ergotech Freedom Arm HD (FDM-HD-S01)

I'm not sure which arm you mean when you say the Amazon arm.

EDIT: Oh, and I just started looking hard at the HP Omen, it's on par price wise with the Acer XB271HU and also has an IPS panel but the specs are right there.

It's an arm made by Amazon. It's high quality and said to be better than some of the more expensive options.

I'm not sure that's going to help me find it. Without a make and model number or a link, I'm just fishing in the wind hoping I find the right one.
