If you haven't purchased the Season Pass for Star Wars Battlefront, don't fret, now's your chance to get it for free on Origins. Released back on Oct 15 2015, the game was a nice diversion for any Star Wars fan. Available only for a limited time, I'm guessing it might be up until Oct 5th like the PS4 offer. You can also nab the Ultimate Edition for $5 on the Origins storefront.

The Star Wars Battlefront season pass includes four expansion -- Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star, and Rogue One: Scarif -- that collectively add four new game modes, eight heroes (and/or villains, depending on the firmness of your commitment to the principles of law and order) and 16 maps. There's also a "Shoot First" emote, which is presumably an animated image of George Lucas laughing while holding two canvas sacks emblazoned with large dollar signs up over his head.

I really hope next Battlefront is good. Last one was such a disappointment that I didn't even play the entire free beta period.

"Origin" is EA's version of Steam.

It's also known as EA's overpriced-as-fuck online store. Which still charges $30 for this cluster fuck, and very rarely has anything meaningful as far as sales go. You know, like Xbox Live Games, where 90% of forgotten games are perpetually at launch price.

Thankfully they still sell their games through Amazon, which has it for eight bucks (but for that cheap it's add-on item only). That's about what I felt the game was worth at launch (online-only with paper-thin combat)

But you still have to own the game. The upgrades are simply free.

I think I paid like $10-15 for this when it was on sale last time and even at that price, I regret it. The SP content was mediocre and the MP was just not that appealing. Barely touched the game, got rid of it after I realized it was taking up like 40 GB or some shit.

So, the free expansion packs require that you have Battlefront Ultimate Edition. However, from what I can tell, Ultimate Edition already includes the expansions/season pass?

My kid has been hittin me up to install this on his PC, he's played the xbox version at the teen center. So you need to purchase and pay a monthly subscription?

No, it's one-time purchase. But in exchange EA shuts down the servers wherever they damn well feel like it.

And with the new one coming out, I expect the player numbers will plummet even more.

Next Battlefront confirmed.

You mean the game that comes out in a few months, that they are actively taking preorders on, and showed off at E3 with a large scale (think 40 player) multiplayer battle demo with multiple gamers brought there to play it hands on? Yeah, I think it has been confirmed. So has the movie Star Wars 7.

750 players currently on when I checked last night. Battlefront is fairly dead, but that is enough to play some games. I suppose $5 isn't too bad of a gamble, but 4-5 months from now good luck getting a game. But if you get 15 hours out of it, I suppose it isn't too bad.

Only play solo missions against the terrible ai (I suck, but its good drunk fun). New maps are always welcome. Wasn't about to pay for them.

Maybe I am missing something here but what does that have to do with my smartassed reply about the sequel being confirmed? I didn't say anything about the status of the current game.

Pretty sure he smartassed my post but nonetheless the statement was true and still stands. I think he read it as I had no clue there was another one coming out which is weird because I said it was confirmed. Slowly back away from the keyboard.
