Divinity: Original Sin 2 Kickstarter launches later this month

Good game, liked Pillars of Eternity far better though. I'll be buying this on a steam sale at some point I am sure.

I got to the last series of Bosses in the End of Time with DOS 1 but I can't beat them I tired must be some kinda cheap trick either level some more or Change out Character loads.
But if I beat them the game is over so I just let it hang and don't finish the game. You can see the ending credits in the game just by going up to a statue in game.

For some reason Pillars of Eternity hurts my eyes thinks it's all the detail in the game.

Don't know how to respond to this comment. On the hardest difficulty I found it pretty easy but I'm not sure if it is a problem with the character build; equipment or strategy. I played the game 4 times to try different companions and builds; the easiest is two handed fighter that just whacks the heck out of it while the mages provide heal and support; but even with my non-fighter party it wasn't that bad. Maybe they made it harder recently ?

Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Steam

It's up on Steam

I'm not sure if the Larian Vault keys are active yet going to check it out. Yeah keys are up it takes some figuring out if you goto your DOS 2 Kickstarter page on Larian Vault select Steam and the key will pop up.
Then just enter the Key in Steam.

Hello Kickstarters!
This is a busy week for us, so we'll get right down to it. Waste no time, that's our motto! We shoot from the hip and don't beat about the bush. When there’s something important to say, we’ll going hell for leather to make sure you’r- … what?!

Oh fine, here's Swen with the news:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5QOTB-Vpcc

How to Get Access
That's right, as of RIGHT THIS SECOND, a day before it goes into Early Access, you can play Divinity: Original Sin 2! To get your Steam key, just follow the instructions below.

Warning: This is your key for Early Access AND the full game. If you give this key to anyone else, then they'll get the full game at release.

Warning: The game is currently available on Steam only. If you claim a Steam key now you can NOT swap it for a GOG key later. We expect the game will be available on GOG in October.

To get your Steam key, please:

1. Create an account at/log in to https://www.larianvault.com.

2. Once logged in, click on the D:OS2 Kickstarter link in the top menu. If you haven’t linked Larian Vault to your Kickstarter account, you’ll be prompted to do so.

3. Once your accounts are linked, click on the menu item "Your Choices & Input". In the list of rewards, look for the item "Divinity: Original Sin 2 Digital Download" (for some tiers, this reward will be called "Divinity: Original Sin 2 Digital Collector's Edition Download").

4. Select Steam. Click OK. Then click the link "Available! Claim now!". This will generate your Steam key.

5. Once you have your key, activate it on Steam as you would any other game (Click "Games" in the toolbar, click "Activate a product on Steam", and follow the instructions given)

6. Wait patiently for the game to download. (Note: Patience optional.)

What is ‘Early Access’ Anyway?
Just to remind you all - this is an early access version of the game. It’s to make sure we’re going down the right path, to let you test a lot of the dialogs and systems that we’re working on.

Early Access includes two sections of the game: Act 1 of the campaign, and the PvP arena.

Act 1 gives you the chance to explore (and escape) Fort Joy, a camp where the Magisters bring Sourcerers to make sure they are not a threat to society, and the surrounding swamps.

The PvP arena is where you can battle your friends (or strangers) online or over LAN. There are a range of maps and two game types to get you going so you can enjoy combat with high-level characters and skills.

We’ll have our notebooks ready, so please let us know what you think on our forums!

Streams
Of course, not everyone will be able to claim their Steam key right now. If you’re not able to get the game just yet, but want to keep the hype as high as possible, then we’ve got you covered.

Over the next three days we’ll be showing off the game with some of our favourite youtubers - kicking off with Angry Joe at 2pm PT (22:00 Berlin / 9pm London). Keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for more information!

In Conclusion…
Haha! Like you’re still reading this. Seriously, you could be playing the game right now - I seriously doubt you’re doing anything other than yelling at Steam to download the game faster right now. I could write whatever I wanted down here. Wibble wibble potato trampoline. See?

But regardless, we hope you enjoy the game and we can’t wait to hear what you think of it! Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, or on the Larian forums. We’re very excited about the path we’ve been going down, and we can’t wait to finally share the journey with you.

Downloading the game now :p can't wait for single player at Ft. Joy I'll post screenshots as soon as I get in game :censored:

I won't spoil the rest ;)

Looks a ton more realistic than the first game.

I'm so screwed way everything overpowered and not sure where to go....

i want this bad but i don't want to ruin it for myself in EA, is there an estimate of how much of the game is actually completed at this point and when the release date is slated?

It's limited to the Fort Hope area so yeah ... Standard mode is hard and Explorer mode is easiser going to switch to Explorer when the game comes out anyway. People are also saying Voice Acting will be put in later in the game.

I'm in the same boat as you. I think I'll wait for now.

Please for the love of god i hope they have removed the trait bonuses from conversations.

I tried playing OS again when the enhanced version came out--i never actually beat the game on my first playthrough, but the min/maxer in me could not get over the nonsensical bonuses to traits given from conversations and the savescumming to get the right traits was necessary too damn often.

It is definitly rough. I have no crashes but the world assests could use a bit of love; as well as some bug fixes. Not bad for an alpha but it will be a while till finished :)

I'm not sure if the graphics are a upgrade or not the 1st game was minimal but it worked. Larian went overboard with textures in this game unless it's just the Ft Joy area I'm with see you eyes are fixated in the middle of the screen the characters move around the world but they are almost camouflaged due to all the textures. They don't have much distinction that sets them apart from the environment. unless I just need to play on a smaller monitor where the textures less noticeable. Thinking of picking up that Dell 24" 1440P gaming monitor just for this game.

This is act 1. They have said only act 1 will be available during early access; the other two acts will be provided on final release. Not sure if playable undead will be available during EA or only on final release.

They did something similar with D:OS EA (only act 1 was available). I think the logic is they want you to test the balance/game engine but they don't want to 'spoil' the full game prior to final release.

Does anyone know when they'll add other areas?

I just saw and email from GOG for the Original Sin Enhanced version for $20. I never played it. I think I will get this and just wait until Divinity II is out next year.

Oh shit! I've been waiting for it to go on sale. Need to set a reminder in my phone to buy it when I get home.

I have a fear that my progress might be erased so I'm going to hold off on playing up to Act I.

kinda like my 119 hours in Dark Souls III went poof

Patchnotes v3.0.31.292 - Meet our new AI system
FEBRUARY 2 - DEATHKNIGHT
Hello everyone!

Today we unleash AI 2.0 to the world and you had better be prepared because it's been kicking our behinds ever since we've been testing it out.

So welcome to a brave new world. If you find you are also getting your hiney kicked, don't panic. We think that's perfectly normal. But if you think this is a walk in the park, we simply have to talk to you and we'd like to know how you are still beating our system!

Seriously though: we are aware this will feel more like our hard core Tactician mode. And we need all of your feedback to be able to tweak the numbers correctly. What are you experiencing that makes it too hard? Monsters ganging up on you? Monsters controlling your party? Reactivity? Movement? Unfair advantages? Monsters have too many skills? You're not wearing any armour?

Let us know. Of course, there's more than just Super AI. Here's a (huge) changelist after a message from our savegame and Kickstarter partners
roar

Savegame compatibility

Again, these changes are so huge, this new version is unfortunately not compatible with old savegames. However, if would like to continue your old savegames, we have made the old builds available on different Steam branches: ea_version_1 for savegames made in version 2.0.165.341 and ea_version_2 for savegames made in version 3.0.5.530 and ea_version_3 for version 3.0.15.252.

To switch to a previous build, follow these simple steps:

1. In your Steam library, right click the game Divinity: Original Sin 2 and select Properties
2. In the Properties screen, click on the tab BETAS
3. In BETAS, click the arrow to open the dropdown
4. From the dropdown, select an old "ea_version_" branch and then click Close

Improvements
  • AI 2.0. Integrated new AI system for all enemies
  • AI has received a big overhaul. In general it should be a lot smarter and have more awareness of its surroundings. This means that the AI might have gotten a bit more difficult to deal with, so don't underestimate your enemies and especially watch your positioning! Your enemies will make better use of barrels, surfaces, and combat control skills, and they’ll have better knowledge of the consequences of casting particular skills. Planning ahead is now more important than ever.
  • Loot system overhaul

Patch Notes v3.0.76.796 - A release date! New regions! Giant tentacles!
Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Larian_Octaaf
Behold one of our most exciting updates so far!

First and foremost: We have a release date! September 14th 2017 is the date on which all the content and features of Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be unleashed upon the world.

We’re hard at work finishing the game, so our patch release rate may become slower. But rest assured, it’s because we’re putting all of our resources in making Divinity: Original Sin 2 as awesome as we can. We know you’ve all been eager to progress your adventure, and with this patch we’ve added… A LOT.

Two new areas will provide a huge narrative bang. You’ll help our heroes crash land in Fort Joy and explore the next stage in their journey after they escape. Players with a profound fear of giant aquatic monstrosities, be warned!

We’ve also added relationship dialogues with companions, meaning you’ll be able to poke around in Red Prince, Sebille, Lohse, and Ifan’s heads like never before. But beware: You may not always like what you find.

Character Creation and crafting have also undergone a serious transformation. Together with the fact that you can now manage the formation of your party in a brand new interface, you’ll have plenty to try out.

You may have heard rumours of our mysterious fifth origin story - a sea-faring dwarf known only as ‘Beast’. With this update, you’ll get to meet (but not recruit) him for the first time.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of stuff you’ll get to explore in this patch, so keep reading for the full scoop. (Hint: Unique origin skills!) We can’t wait to hear your feedback on these new additions, so please keep posting and pressing the send feedback button!

I tired the Dwarf Class yesterday and you start out on the ship which is pretty cool looking maybe too much going on at one time. Then if you played the game at all after the Ship you land in Fort Joy. Larian changed the Character selection screen also they changed alot of stuff I like how they can change stuff in the game on the fly it seems.

I thought I heard act/chapter one was as far as you could go in the beta.

Wasn't sure if they were planning on progressively unlocking that as it got closer to release or not. If I could play 3/4 of the game within 1-2 months of launch I'd probably go ahead and buy it...if it was just Act 1 up until release date...prolly still wait.

They stated that just like D:OS 1 only act 1 is unlocked. It takes 15 to 20 hours to do the entire thing - which is pretty decent for just the first act :)

I'll prolly get it in August then and be ready for the next acts the time Sept rolls around. If I got it now and ran though it 100% chance I'd forget WTF I was doing by the time the game launched and just end up starting over anyway.
