Warcraft III was last updated in March 2016 with a patch that brought it up to date for modern OSes, and it turns out that wasn’t just a one-off: Blizzard has launched another update this week for the RTS’s multiplayer, which includes tweaked maps and new map pools. Aside from the core game being updated with a number of improvements and gameplay objectives, this patch marks the debut of Reign of Chaos’ very own public test realm, which will be used to test future changes such as a revamped matchmaking system, automated tournaments, and improved latency.

Maybe, just maybe, since they're still updating it 15 years after the fact, they can add widescreen support.

Hmm...I bought Warcraft 3 a long time ago. Probably came on CD or DVD. I'll have to see if I can find it and try it out 15 years later.

I haven't installed war3:TFT since Dota jumped to Steam.

If I had a dollar for every hour I spent in that Client I'd be fucking rich.

The game itself was pretty good too. Ahhh I miss the pre-WoW days.

Widescreen support? Oh man, I should pick this up. Too lazy to look, but I'm going to assume it allows for LAN gaming too?

WC3 was the best RTS I've ever played. Blizzard has hinted at a co release with WoW releases since TBC but I think that was just wishful thinking.

WoW drying up? Time to go back to their roots prepping for wc4? I hope elder scrolls won't take that long to return to their roots.

They're still updating Starcarft which was released 19 years ago also..

My entire experience with Warcraft III can be summed up as:

Install, start playing, "wtf is this shit?!?!"

10 minutes later

Uninstall, start playing something else.

It sucks because Warcraft II was awesome.

It does have widescreen support.
Of course, how silly of me:

That's Blizzard's widescreen support right there.

I'll have to look at it later then, my apologies if I'm wrong, but they didn't announce widescreen support in any of the patch notes that I'm aware of and I was playing the game about a year and a half ago.

I was just as surprised as you too see the feature and that blizzards initial download for wc3 is our of date until you try to connect to multiplayer.
