The Best 650 watt PSUs - Price aside

I got the EVGA 650 Supernova G3 ,so far so good.Runs quite and cool.I have it running for 2 weeks now 24/7 no issues.
 
I just bought this psu as well. Got it on amazon with a mir a couple weeks back. 15 fewer watts at idle coming from a bronze corsair cx750m

Mine is rock solid and doesn't even flinch under heavy gaming loads. Congrats!
 
Yeah I've been looking around for a new ~600W unit and PRIME seems to be the best choice. I was looking into the EVGA 650 P2 but apparently the Leadex platform has issues with hold-up time that could fry your mobo.

The JonnyGuru review mentions issues with the cables, so I might bump up to the 750W version.

Does raise the interesting question of whether going for Titanium spec range with less filtering (as seen with 3.3V results not just here but others) or Platinum/Gold that can implement such extra circuitry albeit with slightly less efficiency.
Only way to know for sure is for these to be tested on noisy mains rings and with sensitive equipment such as USB headphones (tricky in its own right due to implementation of USB circuits with the motherboard).
Difference is probably marginal, but mains noise traits can be quirky when it comes to streets and residential homes.

Νο, i don't believe you are correct about EVGA.
Seriously stressful for the mobo can be the case when the Power_OK signal time exceeds the PSU's Hold-UP time (*normally the Power_OK signal should drop 1st )
Indeed, in the past, Leadex's platform expressed such behaviour during the "Hold-UP time / Power_OK signal" tests, but this happened with only one specific model as i can recall, the Superflower Leadex Gold 550 ( http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/super-flower-leadex-gold-550w-power-supply,4416-4.html ).
I can't recall seeing the same issue happening with any other Leadex -based platform. (*although nothing can be said for certain, since the "Power_OK signal" test is relatively new, at the PSU review field, so not all PSUs have been tested with this kind of method.)
(*EVGA uses the same Leadex platform, but has some modifications at its own models -mainly uses different caps compared to Superflower's- . I don't remember any EVGA PSU showing the same problem with the Leadex Gold 550 )

P.S. As for the Seasonic PRIME Titanium line, indeed seems to be the best choice right now. It's the only platform so far, that achieves such low ripple values, without the need of using caps inside the cables! Impressive result from Seasonic:) !
 
I wonder all the time why anyone would buy an EVGA PSU when there are so many other brands with much better track records.
 
currently running the seasonic focus plus gold 650w and love it. have it in hybrid mode and the fan stays off 90% of the time. for the 80 dollars after rebate it's currently at it's a damn good deal. but then again pretty much anything seasonic is a good buy.
 
They have Seasonic and Super Flower based units. GS and and all of the 2-series units, off the top of my head. I've never heard any complaints about their warranty/cs either.

Their other units can generally be avoided. If EVGA actually made a PRIME-based unit I would rather buy from them than Seasonic directly.

EDIT: Correction, GQ is not Seasonic.
Made by and designed by are not always the same thing. Brand labels are known to make changes for profit margin reasons.
