In a post on ChipHell we are seeing some up close pictures of Sapphire's Vega 64 Liquid Edition.

It is really a great looking card. Shame if I get my hands one one it won't be the Liquid since I run a custom loop. I also received an email from Sapphire today that says Vega will be available to purchase August 14th. Lets hope the price/performance is worth it.

Is AMD restricting board partners from doing custom solutions like with the Fury X?
there were no custom solutions with the Fury X. They were all reference AMD cards. The ONLY difference was the sticker on the fan for the Fury X.

Fury cards however, they had some variety from board partners.

It's so clean looking. These cards are probably the best looking cards I've seen in a long time. I dig it.

I wonder why they didn't go with a secondary, blower-style fan for all the other components. ...Unless they heat-piped everything under that shroud.

Yup, there's nothing special about it, just clean and minimalist which makes it look good. Under the shroud is supposedly like the frontier edition aio so everything's cooled. Pics in the link below.

Sadly, I think this will happen:

That's sexy AF. One thing you have to give AMD is doing a good job on the reference design this time around.

Unfortunately, sexy doesn't play games better.

Need benches. Sometime this decade would be nice. Comical that they seem so afraid to release any.

Assuming they're full fat cores with non gimped click speeds that things gonna need a 240 aio and 1000 watt minimum psu.
Well if you put together 2 Vega 56 you might get something different...

Sadly, I think this will happen:

You haven't been around to long is my guess. AMD is still struggling with power/performance ratio. Also in direct competition with the cards listed price they won't do that bad but it won't sell like crazy since the performance levels are not impressive.(enough to blast by the GTX 1080)

People expecting AMD to compete with Nvidia (performance/power/price) live in a different world then the real one.

?

It's 2 slot

ok in Kyles unboxing video screenshot it does look like 2 slot. don't know which picture I was looking at. it might also been on my mind when I was looking at MSI 1080ti....the fans stick out past the 2 slot width.

Good looking card. Expecting slightly slower than GTX 1080 speeds in the Benchmarks. Hope I'm wrong.

They've done it before. The last time was with the 290X before AMD came out with their own version in the 295X2, where each chip had a similar TDP to Vega 64 at 290-300W. It came as a single slot card with a custom waterblock on it. Wouldn't be surprised if the dual Vega 64 was similar.

I'm surprised they mentioned the ARES II instead of the ARES III.
