WoW; 6h expansion Legion

New raid starts tomorrow. I'm kinda meh about it. It doesn't help that I've been finally going through Suramar quests to get flying.

This is the longest I've stayed with any expansion for WoW. I think the reason I'm still playing is because of flying and the various catch up mechanics. Before flying I had two or three max level toons. I now have six and am working on two more. If it were not for flying applying to my alts, artifact catch up, and invasions, I would be done with this expansion. As it is I'm still having fun just playing casually. I've even started playing some melee classes which I've never done before. Still not going to do more than LFR as I don't miss the stress that seems to go hand in hand with raiding.

Legion is super alt friendly, I currently have 4 110 with max AK and decent gear having not run many raids on any of them. Just started working on some of my other alts recently.

I honestly thought the game was on life support after Burning crusade and they just sort of tried to save it with the vanilla remake. Shit is getting crazy.

Its alt friendly now, with flying in and being account wide along with 1000 resources from a max AK toon buying max AK for an alt. Early on, no way. It wasn't even alt spec friendly. That has been one of my biggest gripes with the expac. They've been slowly making it easier on alts since about month 3 of the expac.

Now it is, before it was the worst for alts.

Lol, what Wrath and Cata had the largest user base. It peaked at 13.1 million during the end of wrath to mid cata. It did take a shit in MoP; even though MoP is actually one of the better xpacs blizz has released. It really took a hit in WoD with the game losing like 5 to 6 million right after the xpac released.

I think Legion is doing pretty good, but not as good as it could be. I think some of the game mechanics like excessive RNG really deters a lot of players from enjoying the game. Also, I think pathfinder for flying also kills a lot of people willingness to play.

legion for me has now grown extremely alt friendly especially with the buff to artifact point gain and flying but its extremely repetitive.

This is the first expansion since Lich King I have made it two content patches in without bailing. While I still play on a casual schedule with 3.5 hours in 2 nights raiding - first night of Tomb tonight - and then maybe 2-3 hours the rest of the week total. With that I have a 904/901 ret/prot pally and 894 elemental shaman. Both max artifact knowledge (the old fashioned way). I have enough fun to keep playing without it being ponderous or boring. I have played off and on since Vanilla and this is the most fun I've had since Lich King (but really LOVED Burning Crusade)

New to Havoc, totally lost, need help please

First off I created my Demon Hunter last September at launch, and made him a Tank. Did a few M+'s and back then, get him to i865 or so, then stopped playing him, and went back to my main Death Knight Tank instead.

So I have decide to dust off my Demon Hunter and try out the Havoc DPS spec. Here is my character link, still in mostly Tank gear from last year.

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/whisperwind/dingohunter

So now my questions;

- I did the Broken Shores scenario, and several quests attached to that, but those 4 new artifact traits still haven't appeared for me to chose yet ? What else do I need to do to get them to be shown and filled ? I know I ran like 9 or 10 broken Shore quests and the Assault on Legion right after the Broken Shore scenario, and still no new traits option yet

- Which Havoc build to go with ? I hear about this Demonic build, I tried that, but it felt clunky, probably due to not have the new 7.2 Traits yet, which require those new 7.2 traits to be filled in for the Demonic build to work best ?

- Or how bout this build, that two websites talk about, the Chaos build;

Here is mine. Keep in mind I only do open world PvE and LFR. This is also not my main and is currently my 4th or 5th alt that I will choose to play. So I'm sure there are better ones out there. I survive LFR with no issues and that's all I'm looking for.
Fun class but my attention has moved to my mage and paladin last few weeks. Can solo most of the 112s on broken shore as long as I pay attention and have my cool downs.

Quest line info for the artifact, also a sticky in the comments.

Thanks. So what's your main rotation like just doing WQ's and some LFR ?

Thanks. So what's your main rotation like just doing WQ's and some LFR ?

Well most normal mobs and some of the gold elites I'll fel rush, felblade, and throw glaive to gather them and then AoE them down with eye beam, chaos nova and fury of the illidari. They don't last long at so I don't always need all three of those AoE attacks and I don't waste cool downs on them unless I make a mistake.

Tougher silver mobs I will open the same way, fel rush, felblade, or throw glaive. Once I'm in combat and have some fury I will use chaos strike and felblade. If it is a tough silver I will wait till my health is around 40%(or I'm confident it will die) before I use nemesis and chaos blade then metamorphosis. I get all my health back after a strike or two with annihilation. I try to save my darkness and blur for emergencies. I have a legendary that makes vengeful retreat heal me for 25% and give me more leech that I use as needed. If others are around I won't waste my cool downs unless needed.

LFR I do basically the same thing, if adds come I use my AoEs and then switch back to single target. I'll save fel rush and vengeful retreat to avoid things more than to attack the bosses. Only major difference is I will use metamorphosis at the beginning, my cool down for it is 3.5 minutes so I can get in a second one usually. Ideally you shouldn't have to worry about healing yourself. I've only taken my demon hunter into LFR to kill a couple dozen bosses. So I'm sure I could improve things and there are probably better ways than what I do. But I don't die often and that is usually my first goal in any group :)

As a casual player, getting flying was a test of patience. Nothing made me want to quit more than the stupid roadblocks they put in your way to gate progress. Needing x amount of rep after revered with the nightfallen to unlock quests made me want to smash my keyboard. Not to mention needing a crazy amount of crystals to finish the chain.

Ok so got time to play around with both builds this weekend, as well as get some Artifact traits filled up. I started at 0 Havoc Traits Thursday night, and now I am at 46. Got this guy to i880.

Blades Build = Seems more straight forward and simple rotation sort of. But in M+ I am not a fan of zipping back and forth and going all over the place with FelRush and FelBlade

Demonic = Seems a bit more powerful, and Eyebeam is great, but I am not a fan of the long cooldown, and then in between waiting for EB, I am just spamming Demon's Bite + Chaos Strike + Blade Dance. But the Demonic build feels a little better in M+.

I have not Raided yet with this DH Havoc. I will this week, and see how that goes.

Been playing hardcore again for almost 6 weeks now. Got my main DK Tank to i920, and my alt DH havoc to i905, and third alt Warrior Fury to i899.

Now I am stalling again, and getting burned out, due to the grind to go further. My DK Tank @ i920 requires a ton more time and ToS Heroic runs, and NH Mythic runs to get higher iLvl, my Guild is pretty serious, most of them are all i935+. So I am sort of stuck to get further, I just don't have the patience to run these high end Raids to get myself to i935.

So I started playing my Demon Hunter more, new to Havoc dps spec, and I am liking, but man I having tough luck getting him geared. I ran NH Mythic, ToS Normal and ToS heroic this weekend, and I got ZERO upgrades, and pretty much no drops, and what I did get was worse or lower iLvl than current equipped. I have been stuck at i905 on this DH for a couple weeks now, which is frustrating.

I then ran several M+ dungeons, on my DH, and three runs all failed either due to bad Tanks or disconnected players, other runs were just brutal long, with tons of wipes, and lost the timer on the key.

Thing is I like Legion a lot, best expansion in years, and I play every night, but the gear grind can get old and tiring. And to me nothing else to really do, besides running current Raids to gear up. I have pretty much ran all the mog gear stuff over the year. And I I am sick of WQs. But running ToS and NH week after week, is burning me out again.

yeah they gotta release some more content, I'm burned out on just logging in and raiding.

I am starting to get that feel again, of logging in, and looking around, and then twittle my thumbs with nothing to do.

Yeah reset Tuesdays I have plenty to do for a couple days, run ToS N + NH H, and a few higher M+'s. But after I run those couple Raids and Mythic's, I really have nothing else to do. I am sick of WQs, and totally burned out on the Broken Isle stuff. And I am not into Mythic Raiding whatsoever, that's a whole other ballgame that doesn't interest me.

Even running Nighthold Heroic to get the final 4 pc stuff, is getting old, I have done NH H for like six months.

Just upload the pics directly. Your image provider is shiznat. The link looks pretty badassed though....

Kind of hit that point again, of not giving a fuk about WoW. My main has become my Havoc Demon Hunter, he's i922 now. Running the Demonic build which is fun.

I stopped playing my DK Tank he feels slow and boring.

The new Argue stuff was super cool the first couple weeks, very refreshing and nice new zones. But 3+ weeks in I've seen it all, and the grind sets in.

Running ToS Raid week after week hoping for upgrades is tiring. Even though the Guild is super serious about Raiding, i am losing interest.

How are the rest of you doing in Legion ?

I've been thinking about resubbing soon but I guess I am waiting for something a bit more exciting. Thanks for the info.

Finally got heroic KJ this past week. I've actually leveled a couple of alts but the new grind in Argus is meh. No flying there just makes it worse. I spend more time in the "old" broken isles for world quest based supplies simply because I can still fly there and get things done quicker.

Started doing some Mythic raiding after our heroic clears, been doing heroic TOS on my priest and warlock but next xpac id like to see them get rid of some RNG. warforge/titanforge needs to go away, nothing worse than getting your best in slot item but now you need to keep going for it in a higher ilvl form, RNG is fine but RNGXrngXRNG is a little absurd.

also like to see them get rid of the Mythic level raids, make LFR for tourist mode and lower ilvl gear so people can see the raid, have normal raids be just that... normal not so easy raids and a heroic. the mythic level is just pure annoyance with the exact 20 man group setup, and we get more 940/950 titanforge drops in heroic than we do on mythic... which is stupid for the increase in difficulty required and requiring exactly 20 people

blizzard needs to stop using the tiered raids and titanforge RNG to keep people playing, real content would be more desirable, and all that grind to get legion flying and the time gating they did to drag it out, only to have no flying in the new zone is a kick in the balls.

still enjoying the game, but still some frustrations there.

on a side note we do need a couple more regulars (DPS) for heroic/mythic nights, wed/friday/sat 9:30pm-12 EST on thrall/horde if anyone is interested just shoot me a message putz#1218 , pretty casual group, certainly wont be clearing mythic tos but we have goroth and di down, also always people looking to run M+ in guild

I did not see the Prot Paladin guide in the sticky, so will ask here please.

I haven't touched my Paladin since MoP Tanking days, and weekend I dusted him off, still Level 90. Got him to 110, and i891 right now. But have a long ways to go to make him powerful. No Legendary's yet, and no Tier gear yet.

My character;
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/zuljin/darthdingo

My question is, am I doing the rotation correctly ? I know there's no true rotation anymore, that stopped in Wrath days, but it seems the Tankadin does have a somewhat more streamlined old school rotation, unlike my DK Tank or DH Tank, which are totally priority based.

I do most of my Mythic dungeon fights like this, I consider this my "rotation". I would like your input on what to change or do better ?

- Avengers Shield
- Judgement
- Concentration
- Blessed Hammer
- Shield of the Righteous
- Blessed Hammer
- Light of the Protector
- Blessed Hammer
- Eye of Tyr

- Rinse and repeat that rotation again if the fight is long. If Avengers proc's I hit that. Of course I Taunt bosses when needed, but that's more for Raid fights.

- And my defensive stuff I only use those spells on big boss fights.

Google it. Check out Icy Veins or Noxxic. I mage so I can’t help directly.

I haven't played protection paladin since the cataclysm need. Went ret and never looked back. I'll second icy veins as a resource though

I like the fact they are making pvp and pve servers pointless. Now you have to Opt into World PVP. And now you get rewards and items based on world PVP if you opt in.

So....yay!
