Have you been looking for the elusive XY36? While I know I spent much of my life looking for the other elusive 36-24-36 model, and saw a few in the wild, but actually bagging one for my collection was not the easiest thing to do. (It puts the lotion on its skin...) It seems as though Kosuke Saito has figured out the XY36 formula however.

Saito started ordering different size products in order to obtain different types of Amazon boxes, and eventually figured out that he had to buy specific products in order to get his hands on rarer boxes. For example, his prized XY36 model is very thin, and only used for articles like a cutting mat. In the 9 years since he started collecting Amazon cardboard boxes, Kosuke Saito has collected 77 different models used in Japan, some of which have been discontinued.

at first i thought i was confused and missing something here.. it couldnt be about someone collecting boxes...

alas.. thats all it is about..

well.. we all have our own fetishes

My Amazon box collection would slowly disappear... my wife wouldn't know anything about it.

Sometimes this happens to my old clothes.

He doesnt collect american amazon boxes as they are not as good as the japanese boxes as they are works of art, lol wtf ? A cardboard box is a cardboard box.

What would an Evil Scotsman know about the subtleties of Japanese and American boxes?!?!?!? :p

:D

Yeah laugh now, wait for the next article saying how a collection of Amazon boxes sold for 100k.

This. There is supposedly a community of box collectors.

What I don't get is waht does he order, and what does he do with the things he ordered?

Tosses them in the recycle bin of course.

I only "collected one Amazon box" it was used to raise my closet door desktop up on a old night stand. Had a Newegg box on the other side. :) .. Still cant understand why i never won the worst desk setup!!! worked great for a few years.

I use the smaller Amazon boxes to store receipts by year. So far, it has worked out okay.

I am intimately familiar with american boxes, however to my severe disappointment I have not experienced a japanese box as of yet.

Maybe one day I shall be lucky, praise the lord.

Does Korean count? That's close to Japan, they al...can't go there, nevermind.

Seems crazy but if its his passion who am I to judge?

He definitely will have a few box scans for the "Amazon Box DLC" on "Box Sim", I have no doubt is coming....VR version in the works for a DLC or a standalone???

No one knows!!..

I'll wait for the Crate Edition. Boxes are small-time.

"Kosuke Saito says he is often asked why he doesn’t collect American Amazon boxes too, to which he always he replies that he finds them “kind of tasteless” compared to the works of art used in Japan."
