What do you do after you burn the tires down, never rotate those, and do not keep proper maintenace on your Tesla? Send it back because it is not safe for you or your family. I have to question from the first moment you noticed the "problem" that anyone worthy of their mancard would go buy some new tires so as to not endanger you, your family, or anyone else on the road.

Check out the video.

Goodbye Tesla Model S. We LOVED this car. Super sad to see it go but it is time.

While normally I live by the motto, never attribute to malice that which can be explained by ignorance. Either this guy is seriously ignorant or a genius. His views are skyrocketing and in a world of views matter, I'm sure hes making out like gang busters on ad revenue.

Lack of proper tire rotation aside, how can you buy a rear wheel drive Tesla S with 400+ HP and ~800 Ft lbs of torque and complain that it's difficult to drive in the snow with street tires? WTF! Also, paint the stupid facade if you don't like it black...

And what is even better is he is posting about it on youtube...he is so going to get pwnt.

And wtf AWD goes faster? What an idiot.

I knew this guy about two decades ago who would buy a new Mercedes every 2 years. (Medium size business owner in Chicago. He made in excess of a million per year.) He would not care for it at all, no oil changes, no tire rotation, no keeping track of the air pressure, and then at the end of two years, he'd just trade it in on a new one. The dealer he worked with would only give him $5000 for trade-in value specifically because of it, and he just didn't care. He'd just get the new car. The dealer would totally refurbish the car, replace the tires and the oil, repair any damage to the engine or other areas, and sell it off for a huge profit.

Maybe I am misunderstanding him, the sensor is supposed to control power to the rear wheels went out so it was applying all ~690hp anytime there was power applied causing the rear tires to burn out anytime he encountered low traction? Why would he have kept driving it at all?

Get rid of the Tesla. Doesn't know what to get next? This guy sounds like a SmartCar kind of guy. Maybe a Honda Fit kind of person.

I don't understand how they can tell him to keep driving it if the wheel speed sensors are bad, traction control, stability control and abs are all dependent on those sensors. Either way, he needs to rotate his tires and get the summers switched over during the Utah winters.

I'm curious how many miles is he driving in 8 months or is he just burning rubber everytime he takes off. The difference between front and back is pretty extreme for only 8 month old tires.

The sensors are used for TC etc, but not throttle input, meaning he just mashed on the gas and the wheels would spin and he didn't know what else to do but spin eating up the rear tires fast. In other words, an idiot. Just because those are out doesn't mean it applies full power anytime the accelerator is pushed.

That makes a lot more sense. Thanks.

He probably sounds rather coherent and thoughtful to other blissfully ignoramous' and layman.

It's amazing that they checked into a hotel near their home because he couldn't handle driving it home with light snow. Talk about snowflakes.

I'd love to see Tesla analyze the data from the car and be like, "Hey ya dumb shit, you've done 26 miles worth of burnouts. I'd say the tires held up pretty well."

Cringe.

Did you see his other video where he drove his Tesla to the airport and left it there a while with only 30 miles of charge. Then was surprised that his ELECTRONIC device lost juice while running idle electronics for a week or however long he was gone...

You'd think this guy has never owned an iPhone, since he doesn't understand how an iCar works...

I don't think he's ever been a card carrying member...

I wouldn't drive with tires like that in the snow either, but then again my tires would never get like that so...

10k thumbs down, and 5k up. Clearly the majority of the viewing audiences knows he is an idiot too.

He makes a comment clearly stating he drives "super fast".
Enough said - lots of fast driving over 8 months - no surprise his back tyres are worn out.
If I were Tesla, I'd tell him to suck it up and buy some tyres. Then politely suggest after he fits the new tyres he sells the car to someone with half a clue.

I just want to know why this guy was trying to murder-suicide his entire family...

Well yea, but his point disregards the fact that he's the one that's been laying rubber down and to him it has nothing to do with loss of traction. It's the car, not him. That's what makes him a snowflake. Also, if you want to get down to it, for him to realize that there was no traction in the snow, he had to ignore that fact before leaving the house which would mean the tool had already put his family in danger in the first place. This reminds me of the time when I was 16 and hanging with friends at the beach. My friends venerable mustard yellow Corolla's clutch cable had snapped and we were stranded. He called his dad who came out and swapped cars with us. While we road home in automatic tranny comfort, his dad drove the legendary mustard Corolla home clutchless. That's what Dads are supposed to do. Dad's are supposed to fix shit, not create it then pass the blame elsewhere.
