I am sure this will all end well. If you have ever "driven" a Tesla in Self Driving Mode, you will note that it likes you to keep you hands on the wheel some and if you do not, it will nag you a bit to do so. A Digital Nomad has come up with a tremendously high tech solution to this that I had not seen before, even though this was posted back in early May.

Check out the video.

All You Need Is a Handheld Runners Water Bottle...You won't need to touch the wheel anymore

stupid... it is just counter torque is need it... they need better DMS (Driver Monitoring System), Cadillac's Lv2 require not only hands on wheel (just counter torque wont work) and driver need to be facing and paying attention as well (vision feedbck)

This is stupid. This is only assisted driving, not automatic driving. The guy who died because his tesla didn't "see" the rig that had blocked the lane 90 degrees to the car because the clear path under it was only high enough for the hood, not the cab... wasn't paying attention to the road. Don't defeat safety measures and expect to live when something goes wrong.

There is nothing about that video I agree with.

"Full autonomous mode" - please don't. Just don't

"I was falling asleep and the system was naggin me" - geez dude. That shit is there to keep you ALIVE. why fuck with that?

What happened to Keep right except to pass. Seems this drivers loves to stay in the left lane.

Probably from Texas (our drivers love to hang in the left lane, especially if they're in a big ass SUV). I use to count cars to see if it was just TX drivers or if drivers from other states did the same, but it's always the same...TX drivers believe the left lane is for hanging.

obviously this is a water bottle issue.

I want self driving cars... I really do... but doing stuff like this might work great for the user, but don't make youtube videos advertising yourself defeating the autopilot safety checks. The only thing that video can do is come back to bite him in the ass should "something" ever happen.

Look what happened to the retard that was cruising around on autopilot with his head up his ass watching a harry potter movie and died.

If anything, the more convenience technology gives us the more stupid and complacent people get.

Not really disagreeing with you, but part of me thinks that maybe it hasnt really changed much. We just didn't hear about things as quickly and as far reaching. Also it wasn't really "news" to report some dumb guy driving off a cliff or through a store. That kind of stuff ends up as local news because people in california didnt care what ohioans were doing.
