hi

in peoples opion what would be the very best usb soundcard to use with the hyper x cloud 2 headphones for fils games and music

Oppo 205.
Takes up to 7.1 HDMI, 5.1 SPDIF (compressed).
For highest quality stereo has Async USB from PC with up to 32bit 768KHz, and SPDIF to 32bit 192K.
Accepts audio and video files via network, USB drive and disc.

It has the best DAC chip on the market, the Sabre32 9038 Pro.
There is a dedicated DAC chip for stereo and another for 7.1.
It has a very highly specced headphone amp with independent volume control.
It can be controlled from the remote or from a moble app.

Theres more, cant recall off the top of my head.
If the cost is too high they do a cheaper model the Oppo 203.
It has a lower spec DAC but is still very high quality. Otherwise its almost identical to the 205.
Either will blow the pants off most DACs.

I can confirm it is an amazing piece of kit, easily besting their previous model from 2012, the Oppo 105.
And that was superb!

Unless I read it wrong I think the OP is looking for an add in sound card for a PC, not a Blu-Ray player.

He asked for the very best USB souncard.
I presented it.

Its also a high end Blu Ray player.
And full blown media player.

It can play audio via USB, Async USB, SPDIF, HDMI, network and disc.
Do the required options and more equal less?

ps I agree with you that it has its own USB soundcard that is integral to its use.
Since he gave no information yet asked for the best soundcard my assumption is he wants to hybrid it, use the headphones on another soundcard.
IMO this would mean cutting the wires and plugging it directly into the Oppo.
His choice though, he asked the question.
