During an interview with USA Today, Andrew House revealed that “select” models of the PS4 will be receiving a $50 price drop from June 9 to June 17. Additional discounts on software and accessories have also been promised. Some retailers (such as Amazon) are already selling the slim for $250, but this means that the lower price will be available much more widely.

Ahead of E3, House revealed how other aspects of the PlayStation business is doing, which he declared is profitable and going strong. Sony has sold 60 million PS4 units overall, with one in five of those being the pricier and more powerful PS4 Pro models that provide gamers a 4K video experience. Some 645 million hours have been spent gaming on PS4 Pro, Sony says. FIFA 17, Grand Theft Auto V and Final Fantasy XV have been the top titles. To capitalize on the buzz around E3, Sony will drop the price on select PS 4 systems from $299 to $249, between June 9 and June 17, with additional discounts on software and accessories.

trying to unleash as many as they can before they announce their next gen!

My guess is they're trying to derail the Scorpio launch, like they derail the Dreamcast's with the PS2.

Yup. Nothing is a larger driving force than price. More people want the newest technology to come out just to force the price of the current down. Your bleeding edge buyers are the minority.

If Destiny 2 doesn't work out for the PC I might migrate the PS4 version.
God or War 4 is the only title I have on the Radar for the PS4

Should drop the PS4 Pro by $50 too if they wanted to get really aggressive.

Worth it for Persona 5 alone.

Worth it for most of their exclusives alone, IMO. I got a PS4 just for Uncharted 4 last year and just picked up a PS4 Pro with a 4K TV for Horizon Zero Dawn, the next Uncharted game spinoff coming this summer, and the next The Last of Us game too (which is at least a year away still).

Have my PS3... not interested in buying something until they have an integrated UHD Blu player AND better backwards compatibility... I don't have lots of time to play games OR watch movies, but when I do I don't feel like playing the 'either/or' game

I'd love a ps4 there's just not enough games or that one MUST HAVE like old generations right now that would drive me to pull the trigger. Plus I'm convinced ff15 will migrate to pc at some point with better framerate ect.
