I was just on the web but not doing anything other than watching a video.

This is the exact video as I came across it while checking into some probiotics.

http://nucific.com/3harmfulfoods/?g...tm_expid=101999475-8.zuAmgSYNQL69zMnnzuHUFg.0

I had watched several minutes of it and then my pc went to blue screen and restarted.

This is what it shows in the event viewer but I have no idea what this means. And believe this is the very first crash I have ever had on Windows 10 while doing nothing.

start with nasic hardware teating

memory: memtest86
CPU: prime95 (at least an hour)
GPU: furmark (At least an hour)
Storage: crystaldisk info for smart info
system/heat/psu: prime95 + furmark

then do basic software testing
chkdsk
sfc /scannow

These setup will help in a lot of random crash cases and a pretty easy to do

Memory testing I can understand but there is no point in stress testing the cpu and gpu as they were not under any real load at all in the first place. I can play games for hours with no issues and heat or temps have nothing to do with it.

Error 41 is a critical power error. Most people get it when their power supplies are faulty. Rarely it's a sleep issue but more times than not it's either a bad power supply or power strip. It would also be worth your time to check your power connections to your motherboard and also to your psu if it's modular.

If you are running power from your wall, get a ups or a well reviewed surge protector. Dirty power is no bueno for a computer.

Try to use Event Viewer combined with Reliability Monitor, Event viewer on it's own has the tendency to lead people down the garden path. To access Reliability Monitor click Start and start typing 'reliability' without the quotes, click the result at the top of the list and see what it says.

All the Reliability Monitor says is this:

I have played games for probably 10-12 hours since this thread and no issues though yet again just simply watching some videos made my pc lock up then blue screen.

Does it sill crash if you put it totally back at stock clocks? Those Driver IRQ errors IMO indicate something using unstable clocks or failing hardware. Its possible one of your sticks of memory is going bad....See what happens with only one sick of ram at a time.

Spent hours testing the memory and have zero errors. Also ran several stress tests for CPU and GPU and nothing happens. I tested both SSD drives and no issues there either. I can play demanding games for hours straight with no issues. I'm wondering if it's possible that it's just a video driver issue that can randomly freak out when watching a video.

well it certainly is starting to sound like an issue with your gpu driver or card then....take a look an see if others are having any trouble with that driver and card.

I wouldnt worry unless you see it again.
Shit happens sometimes.

I did see it again from the time I made the OP which is why the thread was updated this morning. It could be driver related as freaking Windows forced an Nvidia driver update so I did just use DDU and install the very latest drivers and I will see how that goes now.

Well it just did it again and this time I was doing nothing on the pc except looking at a thread here on the forums. It was the exact same blue screen as in post #8 here.

Could be a browser related crash, there have been some issues recently.
Which browser/version are you using?

That's quite wild. Browsers should run entirely in user land which should not be able to crash the OS. Probably another attack vector for browser based attacks.

Whatever latest version of Chrome there is as its updated at least a couple times since this thread was started.

Ya know, I was watching a YouTube in Chrome on my Mac the other day and it kernel panicked (which absolutely never happened prior). I'm wondering if the video player in Chrome doesn't have some issue.

Well crash number 4 just happened while while watching and commenting on a youtube video. This time I could tell something was wrong though before the actual crash as my typing was laggy and when I right clicked it took several seconds for the menu to actually open and it was like slow motion. It felt like the cpu was being maxed out but I checked cpu usage seconds before the crash and that was not the issues at it was only at 2-3%.

Still nothing in reliability monitor? There has to be something there, if there isn't I'm really suspicious of an infection issue.

There is no malware or viruses on the pc and it was scanned earlier today. I decided to use Firefox for a while and within a few minutes it locked up while watching youtube and was unresponsive but did not crash. I find it odd that I can game for hours with no issues at all though.

EDIT: This is from the lock up on Firefox a little bit ago. The previous days where it crashes just says "Chrome stopped responding" and "Windows stopped working".

If I click on one of the hardware errors it says:

Description
A problem with your hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly.

Go to Event viewer and take a look under system, let us know what issues are mentioned there. By the looks of things definitely a hardware fault, I'm tipping a faulting PSU.

How exactly do I get there? I am in the event viewer but see nothing that says system.

And how could it be my psu? The lock ups and blue screens only happen when using the browser with no real load on the pc. Stress tests and gaming for hours are not causing any issues at all.

Click Start and and type 'event' without the quotes. Click Event Viewer and go to Windows Logs > System. Look for anything with a red 'X'.

Well the last "critical" is the one at 11:30 my time which was the one mentioned in post #20. I have now turned off hardware acceleration in my browsers to see if that stops the issues.

Nowhere can I see an mention of exactly what item of hardware failed, nor can I see evidence of the problem being software related. Due to the fact that power supplies are the usual culprits in such scenarios due to power surges I'd be swapping that out first.

Have you tried a mem test?

Yes I mentioned earlier that I tested the memory for hours and got no errors.

So far disabling hardware acceleration in my browser has made for a much smoother experience. For the last several days some pages that have lots of ads were very slow to scroll and would freeze up for a couple of seconds. They would even make my typing laggy at times.

Do you have access to another PSU that you can try if disabling hardware acceleration doesn't fix your issue?

For all intents and purposes your PC appears to be simply 'shutting down in an unplanned fashion' with no explanation as to why.

I have another psu but it would be a monumental pain in the ass to swap that out just to test for who knows how long. I personally do not think its psu related anyway since the crashes always occur with no load on the pc and everything basically at idle yet under full load and stress tests the pc benchmarks and performs exactly like it should. Everything so far to me points to a flash or html issue of some type when using Chrome or Firefox. I guess all I can do now is just report back if it happens again.

I've had PSU's fault in all sorts of odd ways, they don't always have to be under load.

Well no issues with hardware acceleration off in Chrome but I turned it back on a couple days ago and yet again another crash. This time on the bluescreen I did see Nvlddmkm but I see nothing in event viewer details saying that.

You posted that it was an eventid 41. That is a critical loss of power. It means either your psu is fucked, the power to your components is fucked, or the power coming into your power supply is fucked. But hey if you want to argue against the error logs, that's your thing.

That is a very common error though and my pc has ZERO issues doing anything under any type of load. If you had bothered to read what I said it clearly looks related to hardware acceleration in my browser as not a single issue for days with it off but turning it back on started the issue again. And as I said this time it showed Nvlddmkm on the blue screen which is related to Nvidia.

Power supplies don't always fault under load only, if you don't start with the obvious basics you're just going to end up chasing your tail. The logs don't lie and they are not indicating a software issue in any way whatsoever.

If you aren't interested in swapping the PSU than you need a clean install of Windows on another HDD in order to isolate whether the issue is a software or a hardware fault. Randomly switching off features that were working fine in the past is not in any way an effective path of diagnosis.

You ask for help, people are trying to help....?

You are looking at the surface. You are seeing the symptoms of the core issue but ignoring the core issue. No shit your graphics card will throw an error when there is a power fault. Yank the Gpu power cable out while the computer is on and you will get the same error. Load won't have much of a factor in it either if it's a problem with your ups. Eventcode 41 isn't vague at all, it's a critical loss of power caused by a lapse or surge in power to components of your system.

If the issue starts happening with hardware acceleration off then I will go from there. Until then having that on seems to be the only thing that triggers it and it started happening on the last driver too.
