Not the typical usage scenario, but I've got a question and my usual peeps aren't around to give me a straight answer. I made the mistake of stopping into a Guitar Center and the dude working in the 'pro audio' section had no idea what I was talking about. My question is:
Can I safely go out from my Master Stereo 1/4 (L/R) jacks, on my mixer, into a 3.5mm Mic Line-In port on my motherboard via a Dual 1/4 TS to 3.5mm TRS Y-Cable? The Master Stereo jacks are +4dBu out.
I am worried that, without padding the signal, I'm going to degrade my onboard mobo sound with a signal that's too hot. I already pad the signal (20db) from the group-out ports on my mixer, which goes into an Zoom H6.
Relevant Specs are:
Mixer: Yamaha MG16XU
Motherboard: ASUS X99 Deluxe
