RX470 RS 4GB (rx-470p4ldb6) mining performance?

Hi,

Does anybody know what the mining performance is of this card if anybody has it, please let me know, appreciate it.
I currently have a PowerColor RX470 same ram speed 7000 mhz and the gpu clock speeds are similar.
My only factor i am unsure of is the fact that the XFX uses a 6 Pin power connector and the PowerColor uses an 8 Pin power connector.

Unsure of the proof in the pudding if there is evidence that a 6 Pin performs slightly better than the RX470.

It depends on what you plan on mining. I suggest Ethereum as it is not as dependent on higher clock speeds and you will easily mine enough to pay for the consumed electricity. Not sure which PowerColor card you have, but if the lowest-end RX470, is known to overheat. Install MSI Afterburner. Undervolt and underclock the GPU a little (~1150), then slightly overclock RAM.

Ethereum likes fast RAM more than high GPU clock speed.

The card i have now is the PowerColor RX470 - Red Devil version 2 fans.
I dont think i know all the basic ins and outs of mining and what card is decent.
I have taken so long to decide and buy a graphics card, which i eventually did , so i got the PowerColor
I looked at ASUS and GIGABYTE as my other options as the Saphire Nitro+ and XFX were ridiculous in price here.
I chose the 470 because of power consumption and not the 480.
I wanted to now buy the XFX RX470 RS card which appears to be 2 fan also and the memory speed is 7000 also and the clock speed looks normal like 1260 or something
Anyways looks like im out of luck their stock is out so i guess i will be doing bugger and mining like a snail.

hi, i tried afterburner and then tried to undervolt the card but that option is grayed out.
what do you do or what does one do in general to do this?
I tried to increase decrease the clock and memory speeds slightly like 50mhz or so , nothing really noticeable.
 
You have to go into settings in MSI Afterburner and enable the option before you can undervolt. Thats why its grayed out. Ive never played with undervolting yet. But the on my MSI 470 which I use for Ethereum mining, I go with this persons recommendations:
MSI X
sweetspot for :

27mh = 1130core/1900mem @ 900mv - 920mv
27.7mh = 1140core/1950mem @ 940 - 950mv
28.3mh = 1150core/2000mem @ 950mv - 970mv
29mh = silicon lottery

I have copied and pasted that in to a notepad now i will try to use it one day when im brave and see how it works.
I want to and might be buying the Saphire Nitro= 470 card.
It has 8 GB of ram , it feels like i hit the lottery , not sure what difference it makes... so i will see when i get it or if i get it.
 
You also need to consider what memory type you have and with modded bios you can significantly undervolt and underclock while keeping same hashrate. Less electricity, more efficiency, less heat.
 
I have 14 XFX RX 470 RS's in various flavors. 8 are Hynix, 6 are Elpida. All of them run 1500 timings at 1900MHz, save for one Elpida card I had to knock down to 1850MHz to keep stable.

Elpida @ 1850 = 26.0Mh/s
Elpida @ 1900 = 26.7Mh/s

Hynix @ 1900 = 26.2Mh/s
Hynix @ 1950 = 26.7Mh/s

Some of my Hynix cards run at 1950, and some don't. Instead of messing with each one individually for the extra 0.5Mh/s, I've just clocked them all at 1900.

Good numbers for stable operation on 7 GPU rigs. Elpida and Hynix are both good memory types, Samsung seems to be top on some brands, Micron is the worst. What do you run your core clock at? I tend to hit 27-28Mh/x on Hynix rx470 4gb cards with -48v - 1100/1900 to 1150/1900 on identical 1500 strap bios. For Samsung memory I manage to underclock as low as 1025 core / 1800 mem and get the same 27-28Mh/s for similar power to the wall but less heat.
 
Hmmm, I'll bump them to 1100 and see. I seem to remember there being not much difference when I had done that, but I also remember I was trying to keep them at a lower powertune value. I was annoyed with Windows driver issues I was running into; ethOS is far more stable for me with that many GPUs in each machine. Big downside to ethOS is that I cannot directly control core voltage (the setting seems to do nothing), and I've had nothing but trouble when trying to adjust the core voltage via modding the BIOS.

The few Samsung cards I have are able to hit 2000MHz and end up hasing in the 27-28 range, also with 1050 core clocks.

It does seem like I've given up maybe 1Mh/s per card under ethOS than Windows. Couple that with the lack of voltage control, and I'd make more money per-hour running Windows, but ethOS seems far more stable. I was not happy waking up in the morning to find a machine or two with issues under Windows.

not cheap for everybody - different locations are sold at very different prices.
I find the us is always cheaper, no idea why.
Maybe Trump was right.

I don't know about that being completely true. So far although the issue of running 6 GPUs has been solved on windows by taking a few specific steps in uninstalling and reinstalling the working drivers, the power consumption is way up on these cards. I haven't seen many do less than 130watts. That's a considerable increase in consumption, especially for dual mining.

Ok can you tell me how you undervolt the cards? MSI afterburn seems fairly simple but everyone seems to use wattman. But I dont trust using wattman till I know for sure what exactly im doing.
 
i under volted my Saphire by -10mv - unsure if this is fine?
As for the clocks, i dont get it,

my mem speed is 2000 and the clock is 1260.

I dont know how to toggle to my Powercolor card.

I am using Saphire TRIXX

I dont understand this, please help me?
I downloaded afterburner and i have tweaked by clocks on both cards... from their default , to about 100 mhz more, it doesnt do bugger all, what am i doing wrong
I did a different when it was running Ether i saw the hash number move from 288mh/s to about 298mh/s i was then too scared to go more....
But out of interest when i rebooted it was reset again and i started nicehashminer and it was mining Zec instead not sure why?
Anyways from 24.5 mh/s i overclocked the cards again , but it looked like it was still on 24.5 i dont get this.
maybe i didnt check long enough it was climbing... i hasd to leave for work.
Its just hat these number :
1050/1950 = 26.71Mh/s

1150/1950 = 27.22Mh/s

are so differnt to mine, and i dont get it
i must be from a different planet
i really hope i am learning something .... can we check sometime, please?
