Also, this might be obvious, but make sure when you send out the cases for reviews, you time a few of the reviews to be published while the campaign is active. You don't want a bunch of reviews where the viewer can't buyin after reading. Best of luck, Team Louqe.

It’s been a rough couple of days and I need some time off in a moment so I’ll keep it short. The design team has been working hard with the last details alongside all the feedback that has kept coming and implemented most and polished up the design. We are at a point where this new generation of the case (Ghost Ressurected) puts the old one to shame. Each component has been redesigned and we will shortly present the updated concept in a structured way where we would love all your honest feedback – be direct and to the point! After the feedback has new been weighed, we will produce a new prototype and test it before ordering a test series.


Yes, the tools are expensive and the 2.5 MSEK don’t cover the cost of them but frontloading the project is our only chance to really make a difference in the industry.


In the communication, we mention solving many of the earlier restrictions and streamlining production further. We will compile all changes for those of you who can endure through the list. Aesthetically, the changes are small, 2mm lower and 2mm longer. As an example, the new spine creates 2.32mm additional horizontal space on each side - we are now at 65.32mm CPU clearance.


I’ll push the team to have the material ready as soon as possible, probably Monday.
 
Good decision. I'll definitely pledge again whenever the next campaign goes live (since I have zero doubts that Ghost Resurrected will be even better)! (y)

I wonder how long it takes for a new Kickstarter campaign, I will build my Ryzen/Vega system in the summer and I guess this new campaign will not be online by then, a shame this didn't work out but I hope they prepare better for the next one!
Make your pc. And put It into a standard atx case. When the time comes put them into the ghost

This is the one design challenge that has not been solved. putting two separate loops on the top is tough in this tight space. The pipes leading to one radiator need to pass by the other radiator or be lead up to the top through a different path. If there were room to rotate the radiator this would be easy - just feeding the GPU pipes straight up through new openings in the top shelf, but the 120 rads are longer than the 128mm width of the case. If you can live without the grill it's solved already =) You would have a radical, alien like, rig with pipes sticking out in the top!

Let's hope someone can see a solution for this without increasing the case size!

The VAT issue is due to a pretty new Swedish law that applies to crowdfunding... maybe we can find a way not to "crowd fund"?

It is probably not a secret that SAPA is our manufacturing partner in this and that they have over 50 manufacturing plants spread around the planet, letting us optimize our manufacturing footprint as a next step. For a crowd funding scenario we have to gamble based on forecasts. We don't have all the facts to do a footprint analysis and the first batch will always come out of one factory. A solution would be to limit the regions shipped to and in turn reduce shipping costs by volume consolidation.

If we say we ship to EU, maybe one or two boxes will be shipped to Greece and 20 to Germany, causing a big difference in shipping cost in EU alone. The blended rate is what we need to base the quotes on in a scenario where we offer close to WW shipping.

With this first campaign we have a much better understanding of the projected distribution and will be able to optimize far better!
 
Personally, I think tophats AND pedestals should be available for this case. They are natural extensions, and will only increase the build options for users. Compare to CaseLabs. Sure, the case might become taller in certain scenarios, but it still remains very small and unique.

2 of the changes i would like to see made (one you already addressed - wider for 65mm coolers) and 1 to make the top hats also versatile to be bottom hats
that way the user can make 2 loops more easy, 1 rad in the top and 1 in the bottom
and i think this added use could make the case even more unique and better selling
 
If supporting custom loop, I would try to see if it makes sense to support pump mounting somewhere without having the user to drill holes themselves. For example, there is a common position in the Ncase for mounting pumps (parallell to the PSU), but user has to drill holes. Of course, since there are several pumps to chose from, it can be tricky. But perhaps a universal mounting plate with holes for most common pumps can be placed there. Reservoir mounting is also an issue, of course.

I know this might be too early but do you have a rough timeline in your mind already for the new Kickstarter? Maybe in the next few months, however there will the second Dan A4 Kickstarter end of May which will no doubt attract many potential buyers.
 
While I'm a little upset about the delay, I hope v.2 makes it worth it. If you are taking suggestions, please make it possible for the EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 to fit without having to use TopHat's.

This is the only 2 Slot card of 1080Ti with aftermarket cooler i seen so far but very width so maybe tophats are needed.

Seen a mod on Dan Cases A4SFX in Germany that uses Custom Panels to get it widther for 2.5 slots card as 1080Ti Strix and more aftermarket cards from 1080Ti
 
It's a real shame that the initial Kickstarter didn't make it, but I wish you guys all the best with the next attempt. I'd be all over this if I didn't already have a brilliant mITX case - and I think that that's part of the problem: the crowd-funded mITX space is pretty congested these days, whereas three years ago it was wide open. There will be a decent number of people out there who will have say an M1, a Dan A4 on the way, a Sentry on order, and still be in the market to get an S1, but equally there must be loads of people who already have one of the aforementioned cases and not quite enough depth of pocket or need for another of these mITX cases.

That's not to say that I don't like this project, or want one, it's just that I can't justify another couple of hundred pounds on a case when I can only use one at once! As I say, though, I wish you guys the very best of luck, and I love your design.
 
The updated design is dramatically improved, I suggest presenting it in three “episodes”, Spine, Core and filters, Shell, assembly and heat displacement simulations.

Remember the case is targeting a wide audience, the hard-core enthusiast overclocker will prefer our second project better.

The process of finalizing the design and producing a production prototype is estimated to take around 2 months before a relaunch can be made.


Starting with the spine, we won’t detail all the changes but highlight the important ones, see update list below:

· Spine height lowered from 179mm to

· Edges chamfered

· MB opening enlarged

· PCI riser opening smoothened and decreased

· PMB standoffs changed from 6mm to 4mm

· Fillet to gables decreased

· PSU bracket fixation orientation flipped 180

· Kensington lock added on rear gable

· Polymer profiles removed

· Outer corner edges rounded

· Power & SSD opening enlarged

· Length increased by 2 mm

· Space on both sides of monococ increased by 2.32mm horizontally

· Filter slots accentuated for better guidance

· CPU cooler max height 65.32

· Memory max height 67,32

· Anodized T6 alloy, color not set

· GPU max width raised to 53.32 mm

· Separator on rear gable in-between GPU slots removed

· PSU bracket redesigned

· Pressure simulation performed (6 tons)


The important thing to remember with the spine is that this is where the entire build is performed. The possibility to turn the spine around on it’s different sides as the build goes on creates a convenience we haven’t experienced before. It all becomes more interesting in the next step, the Core, when we start seeing the different components come together – so I guess this will be a short one.

Is there exactly 65.32mm space for the cpu cooler?
Because that is going to cause a huge amount of turbolence with the nh-l9x65.
Dancase had this problem, but with the c7 from cryorig instead. There was effectively zero clearance which made the case sound like a weird cross between a jet engine and a vacuum cleaner.

Yes, currently it is, this is adjustable and we could steel another 2.32mm from the GPU side or make the entire case wider...


And I agree, more clearance would be needed for the nh-l9x65 to be a good match.
 
Or get Dan's upcoming HSLP-48 and have it running on push pull config with the fans exhausting outside of the case. That won't be for another year or so though.

Seriously though, run a Thermalright AXP-100H and modify it to run in a push pull config exhausting out the case.
 
I think we will be fine with the 65.32mm space for the cpu cooler, we could do our magic mods with the available coolers( flipping / replacing fans) or the upcoming HSLP-48.

Pachalski do you have any information as to when I can finally get my hands on a Ghost S1? A month? A couple of months? Half a year? A whole year?

Also, I don't like the new side panels.. I wished the holes could be more spaced out like before, kinda like the Xbox One S. And yes, I know, airflow and all, but does it really impact it by that much to have the holes slightly more spaced out? I don't care if then there needs to be more holes, just space them out properly.
I think there was talk of about 2 months on another forum (sweclockers.com), however I am not sure how accurate that is at this point.

I'm planning on a Noctua NH-L12 with one 120mm fan on the bottom slot leaving the top slot empty. According to Noctua it'll be 66mm total. I'm sure I can deal with 0.5mm of bending.

Following a possibly successful Kickstarter campaign how long do you estimate it takes for you to produce a batch of finished cases? For the Dan A4 Dondan has said it takes 5-6 months, which is a little too long of a wait for me.

Our definite goal is to be able to deliver well before Christmas, Oct-Nov!
 
Pachalski imo, you did it all wrong, regarding the marketing aspect of the product.

Expensive cases sell (the NCASE M1, A4 and SENTRY are good examples of that), but you need to market them properly. As far as I'm concerned your crowdfunding campaign started almost as soon as the first information of the case appeared and that is a huge no-no. For a plethora or reasons:

a) Nobody knows who you are. And crowdfunding campaigns more often than not fail. You need to show that people can trust you. That you will deliver. So far, pretty much all small-expensive designs have delivered what they promised. But they all worked their asses and promoted their products and worked on them years before they tried to release them.

b) Nobody knows your product or how good is it. And, lets be honest, small expensive computer cases aren't for everybody, no matter the money they have.

All in all, you need to show your product on several forums for many, many months and once you already have your buyers lined up and waiting... you release the crowdfunding. Not the other way around.

With that said, I want your product to succeed because I geniunely like your design, because it is innovative in some regards. But you need to think about your steps carefully. Selling a product isn't as easy as finding a good design. I'd say that is the easy part. Marketing it is the difficult one.

PS: marketing does not refer to publicity. In fact, publicity is a very, tiny part of it.
 
Pachalski how many leads did you have? You Need to collect emails and inform people when campaign arrives, i know you are already doing this but are you Adversing better the form on the website?

I have aded 2-3 mm on the widht to get it free from air turbulence and even have the possibility left for 1080Ti aftermarket cards, you will have a "One of the kind product with this volume" .

Alot of possibility like the Ncase M1 but in a size like Dan Cases A4.
