BIG FAT EDIT: Seems most/all of the sellers jacked up their prices vs. last deal. Sorry if this deal is a bit stinky vs. last time.

Saw this on eBay this morning. Last time they had this I think some people made out pretty good on some items.

Here's a couple nice potential monitor options:
ehhh edit --- I see capped at $50 -

HP Envy 34C monitor for $535 - less 20% ($50 max) = $485 (cheapest I've seen for a curved 3440x1440 display with good reviews)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ENVY-34C...sh=item3f70e2ce44:g:8IgAAOSw2xRYR0wH#viTabs_0

HP Omen 32 monitor for $335 - less 20% ($50 max (Freesync, 75hz, 1440p, nice quality VA panels = No backlight bleed) = $285

It's worth getting cut --- especially if you have freesync capabilities on your graphics card.

Buttery smooth VA goodness --- no backlight bleed, reputable vender. I have three of them -- only fault is the stand offers no height adjustment. I had a Dell 3014 before I tried the Omen. Freesync with the Omen at 75Hz is better for gaming than the Dell 3014 was at 60Hz. I sold my Dell 3014. Also really nice to have no IPS glow or backlight bleed. (as in none).

I've been using the same monitor since forever ago, ooold samsung 1080, 1ms 60hz that I have OC'd to 72hz.. is the 75hz freesync that good or should I hold off for a higher refresh panel?

I think there is a bell curve for eyes and perception --- like everything else.

I can tell 60Hz to 75Hz. 75Hz being smoother. I could not tell 75Hz to 144Hz. I tried an Acer 144Hz Freesync monitor, and it didn't seem any smoother to me than the Omen 75Hz. Freesync however is VERY nice. (as is Gsync, I'm sure). I poopa'ed the sync technology and thought it was unnecessary until I tried it -- and it just felt much smoother. It's one of those things you probably don't know how valuable it is, until you've sat in front of it and used it for a short while. The Omen 32's freesync range is kind of small. 48Hz to 75Hz -- so you still have to have a decent card to drive 1440p at 48hz or greater -- but as long as the game stays in the freesync FPS range --- it feels PERFECTLY smooth.

As soon as you drop to 47FPS it definitely starts feeling like 47Hz would typically feel --- clunky, and (screen tearing can happen like a regular non sync tech display) soo you definitely can tell Freesync is working. I have a Fury X card, (2 actually - in crossfire when I went to three Omen monitors) and Freesync at 1440p marries up really well to the single Fury X card --- I can easily keep FPS above 48FPS on anything I play.

Fair warning --- if you have an Nvidia card -- People report that you can't run this Omen 32 monitor at 75Hz because it skips frames --- therefore you'd have to run it at 60Hz (and then it'd act just like any other 60Hz monitor). So you'll need an AMD card to truly run it at the 75Hz spec. There are quite a few freesync monitors that do this -- not all -- but quite a few. Some people in the HP Omen thread claim they don't notice it with NVidia cards at 75Hz, some people say they do, and those that do have proven it skips frames on Nvidia cards with high speed camera photos --- it's probably that bell curve of perception thing again as to why some people say they don't notice it with NVidia cards, and others say they do. It does not skip frames with AMD Freesync.

No problems with the card, I've been hardcore team red since I first discovered [H] when Kyle broke the news about the cheating drivers in 3dmark03 hehe, so I'm running a Nitro Fury now and waiting for Vega, I'm fairly confident I can keep frames in freesync range at 1440, but that's honestly my one fear is having the horsepower to drive those extra pixels

Seems like there is a discussion on SD how most of the sellers raised their prices right before the coupon went live.

https://slickdeals.net/f/10059656-ebay-coupon-20-off-tech-25-or-more-ends-4-19?v=1

Example:

I repped the op because it's not his fault that the eBay sellers all raised their prices, but I had to subsequently thumb down this deal for that same reason. Every slick dealer needs to know that there are no deals here. I was going to order another HP 25es monitor from refurb4less but instead of being $88 shipped like last time this coupon was offered, it's now $108. Really shady stuff, hopefully not too many people fall for these shenanigans.

Not shocked that the sellers caught on. Like Newegg jacking up prices before % off codes and such. CCC was so nice when it still maintained Newegg prices.

I apologize peeps. I saw this on eBay this morning and didn't think to check prices on stuff. Just read the thread over at SD and yeah, prices seem to have gotten jacked just before the coupon went live.

The 32" Omen was $229 a couple times this year alone for a refurb. This doesn't seem like much of a deal.

Most of the good stuff sold by these sellers have been pulled. Refurbforless had new 7700k and 7600k for sale and are no longer available.

Can you confirm that the measurements are correct in that it's over 20" high. That is the exact space I have between my desk and the cabinets above. :-/ Although I think I would hold off considering this has been $229 plenty of times recently from searching SD.

Wait a second. The Ebay specs say Vesa Wall Mounting NO but Newegg states yes. So which is it? Can you confirm this also and the actual height measurement of the monitor alone if the stand can be removed. I have a Vesa mount if it is detachable.

I'll measure when I get home.

It is vesa comparable with a detacable adapter plate.

I had the detachable VESA mount included new with each of my three, but I can tell you from being active in the Dedicated HP Omen thread that the eBay sellers don't necessarily include the vesa adapters. You'd want to inquire with the seller to ensure they'd include the adapter if thats important to you.

Do they not just have a screw holes in the back or a plastic cover the comes off? My mount has a plate that is part of it but if the monitor doesn't have anything to mount that plate to........ LOL What I have is the small mount pattern which most monitors that do have VESA mounts accept.

No it has a metal adapter plate for vesa use. You can see it on a google image search.
Or post 97 in the original deal thread

I just measured mine. It is 20.5" tall with the standard stand.

I ordered a 2TB Ultrastar from New Egg earlier this year.. It was annoyingly loud, then died in short order... I returned it and got my money back. I know plenty of others have been satisfied with their Ultrastar server pulls, but the noise kills it for me.

Well there is always this option for the vesa mount adapter but tack another $30 or so after tax onto the Omen and it's really no where near a good deal anymore. Not for something that isn't even ready to purchase yet nor for a 90 day warranty and with HP track record on quality/longevity. I'm not sure what their monitors are like in that regard but plenty of their other products I swear are engineered to fail just after the 1 year warranty. Guess I'll pass and look into a better monitor company and go new unless something just screams at me.

Ryzen 7 1700X at $359.99 - $50 20% Coupon - $87.15 Ebay Bucks= $222.84 Total, not bad at all!

I'm batting 5/5 on the 2TB pulls and 11/11 on the 3TB pulls so far (all of those from the Egg I believe). We'll see how these 4 do...

Where are you getting the x1700X that you can use the coupon on? And how do you get ebay bucks?
I think he has ebay bucks available. Like I have 5 right now. Ebay sends you ebay bucks offer in your inbox. Unless you buy alot on ebay it won't add up to much. I buy about 2 or 3 times a year and offers usually expire within a 7 day period.

I was going to pick up an R5 1600 soon, but I am thinking about picking up the 1400 for $135 here.... thoughts?(aka talk me into, or out of, it)

EDIT: The price changed on the R5 1600, $175 after discount. So tempting.

PM a mod?

If anyone grabbed one of these for $175 and change your mind, I'd buy it for what you paid and cover the shipping to me. PM me if anyone has buyers remorse! :p

Yeah, I actually called them yesterday on the number on the listing about that and why it hasn't shipped yet. Got nowhere. Did get shipping confirmation last night tho.
