Star Wars "The Last Jedi" Trailer

I love both franchises equally. :)

I'm coming around to Star Wars. I'm also cautiously optimistic about the new Trek series coming out but between what Paramount has done to the fan films (Axanar) and the rebooted movies, I prefer to keep my fandom dedicated to the pre-JJ stuff. Hell, I will still put on TNG when I lay down to go to bed, stuff is soothing to me :ROFLMAO:

I didn't get to play it with sound -- because work -- but I didn't see a heck of a lot of Luke. I know they don't want to give it all away, but they better not borker it up with him. I HATE it when they make loved, remembered, characters completely unapproachable and stupid. It's like god aura or something. They're so afraid of screwing up their image that they do nothing with them. I actually liked what they had done with Han and Chewie in TFA. And even if it's universally hated, it's a must see for me.

My wife never watched any trek untill about a couple of years ago. Now she's seen it all at least once. And loves rewatching TNG and Voyager almost nightly.

I know you didn't have sound, Luke is narrirating the whole thing.

It's time for the Jedi to end. I also think it's time I gave up on these movies. Then again I am waiting for another Hoshino fan film that is more entertaining than these new sequel movies.

Star Wars....nuff said. This one is a big one....The last line in the trailer......:wideyed::jawdrop:

They have been teasing "gray Jedis" for a while now. Anyone who watches Rebels knows this for sure. You can be a force user and still not be a Jedi or Sith. Characters like Maul and Ahsoka have even forsaken their training.

I'm still waiting for the original unaltered trilogy to show up on BD.

I'm pessimistic about disney taking over the franchise. The new movies are pretty good but they lack a style the originals had, maybe its just modern culture's PC take.

Who else besides Disney would you have own it? Their the only ones capable of housing such a giant in my opinion.

After the last one, I will probably not waste my time going to the theater to watch it. To me, it was a copy of the story line from Episode IV. It felt more like a reboot than an continuation of the story. On top of that, none of the characters were even remotely memorable to me. The only reason I remember Kylo Rynn (probably spelled wrong) is because of that Saturday Nigh Live skit where they parodied Undercover Boss.
I heard Rogue One was good and I plan to watch it when it becomes available to Rent on Amazon, but I heard from the same people how much they liked Force Awakens.
Unless The Last Jedi does anything to further the story, I'm probably going to stop paying much attention to this franchise.

The blatant copying of Star Wars annoyed the crap out of me too. I am so sick of movie houses being chickens when it comes to stories that all we're seeing is reboots or sequels that are storyline reboots of the previous films in the franchise. I enjoyed most of the Force Awakens from the entertainment aspect but the story drove me crazy. And the part that Leia and Chewie walk right past each other immediately after Han dies.. that was some serious WTF stuff right there. I get it that Abrams apologized for that screw up but come on man!

It's available to rent on Fandango Now. Picture and audio quality as good as, if not better than Amazon VOD.

Wow, could they have made it any more obscure?

That trailer's a whole lot of nothing!

Eh, we'll see what happens when they put out 2-3 more, including a final one a month or two before release. For Force Awakens the last trailer telegraphed a lot of the story, almost too much. I view these as rentals myself. I have yet to see Rogue1.

Of couse it is going to be obscure. Movies is still 8 months away with more trailer to come in the future. This is marketing 101 to build hype. Lots of movies do it.

I agree. Too bad a good portion of the main actors are dead now :(.

They probably wouldn't have used any of them anyway and instead just pulled out some soulless soft reboot cash grab that'd be forgotten in 6 months

Anyway. This new trailer. As I wrote on another forum: Meh. It was alright. Kind of lukewarm. I think the original TFA trailer was more interesting for what it was (not that I really cared for the final product). But I'm sure there are 50,000 hyperbole reaction vids on youtube already. I'm just hoping there's another Rich Evans one. We need it. The universe needs it.

My reaction exactly. The interplay between light and dark is what gives Star Wars identity. It's a fun good vs. evil story with awesome space wizards.

This felt like a trailer for Star Wars: Political Correctness Awakens

The fact that it's a Disney franchise just sort of kills it for me anyways. Feels very manufactured. The Force Awakens was a pale shadow of A New Hope - I actually don't remember any standout moments from the film except the Rey running to the Falcon.

I'm over it.

I loved it. I hope the actual trailer is just as vague.

The studios have been giving far to much away in trailers for too long now. I have started watching the odd teaser and skipping actual trailers. Wish every trailer looked exactly like this... a bit of mood a few cool shots and out.

As expected of the rebootquels, they have made Luke nothing more than Loda, complete with walkers and what will be some kind of shocking revelation. Along with everything else.

I hope to god they actually take some creative risk with this one and it does more than simply rehash and retread more of the OT.

Close you eyes...Breath...I see...Light...I see...Darkness

I see that corniness is still strong in this franchise. Cringeworthy.

The Force Awakens was kind of a let down for me. This looks pretty good so far but so did The Force Awakens when I first saw the trailers. I'm optimistic this will be better but only time will tell.

TFA was a huge letdown, but my kid loves it so whatever. First scene in the trailer is Rey coming out of her Force Vision, I would assume the ending is front her point of view watching Luke from inside the cave. Similar to Lukes walk though the Sith tree in ESB (fan rumor, Yoda was able to hide his aura because that tree was so evil and exuded Dark energy).

Those of you saying "Luke narrates the whole thing" need to listen again.

The voice at the beginning is definitely Mark Hammil, but the voice at the end didn't sound like him. So I don't think its "Luke" saying he wants the Jedi to end guys.

Edit:

Out of curiosity, I did a side by side, and can confirm that the voice at the end is SNOKE'S, not Luke's, although it sounds like him in person, and not in hologram form.
