Call of Duty: WWII

I don't know that it is necessarily a knee jerk reaction. As they have gone more and more in the future, their sales don't appear to have kept up.

Look at the similarities to Titanfall.....I wouldn't be surprised if it was a direct result of a fear that Respawn would succeed in recreating the same success they had with CoD.

A WW2 game might be enough to bring me back to COD.

Wouldn't bet on it not being an utter clusterfuck, look no further than MW Remastered as an example of just how stubborn Activision is when it comes to not learning from its counterproductive behavior.

If you think WW1 is similar to WW2 then I would suggest you brush up on your history. BF1 is just BF4 with different guns, it's not even WW1 or WW2 other than in looks.

Did I suggest it was? But the basic premise is the same....moving away from modern or futuristic setting to an era of iron sights with no modern gadgets or technology.

Wow a business is following a profitable trend? Who would have thought.

Call of Duty United Offensive was really the last COD game I had fun with. Would be nice to have a good WWII shooter again.

Because EA now is exclusively the trend right....and the most profitable one at that. Better not look at PC BF1 population numbers which are pretty abysmal a mere 5 months after release.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

This is Sledgehammer's baby they will do it justice

You say that about every iteration of CoD, and then very quickly moan about the $DLC gouging and lack of players. This will be no different, if Activison can fuck up MW Remastered which literally all they had to do was update the graphics, you can be sure they will do the same for a CoD game set in WWII.

The MP was so much fun...64 players, vehicles and huge open maps. Pretty much the opposite of every CoD game released in the last 8 years.

Yeah, Really loved the Hurtgen map & the British snow map with the bunkers. It had some great community servers back then. Good times.

Call of Duty: WWII Reveal Trailer...looks pretty good...has that gritty look...reminds me a bit of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault...

You could get your fill of Christian Crusades via the first Assassin's Creed.

Nope, just doesn't deliver the same insipid first person experience brimming with bombastic over the top set pieces, mind numbingly linear gameplay, infinitely spawning retarded AI, recycled gameplay mechanics, etc which we have come to expect from CoD.

Honestly, that's every game. Ever. Doing the same thing, over and over again, with the same mechanics that we've come to know for decades. CoD just sticks out more because it's the one that everyone knows so well. There is no more real originality, outside of a few instances in certain games. As a whole, games have been the same shit forever.

Nope, completely disagree with that premise because there are plenty of games that put new spins on existing mechanics to freshen them up and make the game more engaging and fun, introduce innovations that push the medium forward in terms of realism or otherwise do a really good job of spinning a compelling and immersive narrative. CoD does none of those things, its literally the same recycled shit every single time with minor tweaks to make the hardcore fans think they are getting a different game.

That article was of particular interest to me. No more health regeneration. I'm curious to know what we see. Medics? Health kits? Whatever it is, it's a welcome change... especially for multiplayer. Hiding for five seconds is no longer a valid tactic to stay alive. Based on everything I've read thus far, it actually sounds like they are trying to recapture the old-school shooter feel. I'm 100% on board. I haven't been excited for a COD game since MW1, but I'm really interested in this.

Christ, I don't think Activision is even trying to camouflage any more that everything it does is a knee jerk reaction to EA.

BF1 was announced last May, so basically a year ago. COD games are on a 3-year development cycle. How's that a knee-jerk reaction if they started development a year and a half before BF1 was known about?

Rumors were already circulating in February 2016, and industry insiders probably already knew well in advance of that.

To be fair, their last game (SP wise) was their best game since CoD4. I'd say the campaign was probably even better; likely the best in the history of the series. You had some limited choice when it came to selecting weapons before each mission, the story was less gibberish although still a very basic good VS evil plot. It was enough to actually care about what was happening and enough to motivate you to continue. I remember the last few CoD games I played prior, such as BO and MW3, and I kept waiting for it to be over. And those had campaigns under 6 hours.

I don't think this game will be all that great though. They're just in full panic mode and throwing things at the wall at this point. The series has taken a dive in sales but they don't understand why. It is really simple - shovel the same thing over and over and people will get bored. Infinite Warfare was decent and did change the gameplay for the better, but most CoD player these days are in it for the MP and don't like change. At this point, the people who aren't massive CoD fans have moved on. Hard to get excited for a CoD title when a new one comes out each year.

Advanced Warfare I thought was the best Call of Duty I played for online play. Sledgehammer games is making this one also I hope they retained some of the same team.
Would be nice to see lasers being welded by WWII characters.

They need a new engine. Frostbite is lightyears ahead and I don't even think the devs at Dice are even using it to its fullest potential. Frostbite modding...sigh...wtb

Call of Duty it's my favorite shooting game. It's really awesome game for playing never ever you will get bored of playing this game always you will enjoy for playing Call of Duty games.

I can't believe the trolls on Youtube they couldn't code their underwear if they tried.

The only problem I see with this game gun variations might become boring unless there is so much going on with Kill Streaks people won't care.
The Tear Gas Smoke at 11:55 is the most realistic looking smoke in a game besides the stuff I seen with Warface colored smoke.
