Hey guys,

I was going to see if we can get some results from 3DMark..

I was also going to see if anyone had any watercooled 1080ti results to see if it handles a higher core clock speed.

Results:

6700K @ 4.7 Ghz
1080ti @ +165mhz, +550Mhz on VRAM

Can you show us the GPU clock graph from 3DMark to see what the Boost clock was during your run? Or are you using the free version?
 
Sure. I'll add it as soon as I get home. I ran the fan speed at manual 80% so it didn't dip much at all.

Edit: Added GPU Results (Core/Mem Clocks)

Nice score - did comparison between your 2x 1080Ti to 2x 1070 - big difference but then notice the big difference in cpu scores. I recommend you upgrade in the near future your cpu. For 2x 1080Ti I would be thinking more Skylake E or maybe a RyZen rig except I think pushing two pcie3 8x in SLI on either the 1151 or X370 is starting to become limiting for today top end card and gpu's tomorrow.

Yeah, my machine is getting a little long in the tooth now. Waiting to see how Ryzen plays out and what the Intel response is.

For gaming @4k I'm not really losing out that much so happy to hold tight for now.

3dmark means shit for actual gaming performance on the total score. I find it useful for optimizing, overclocking, stress testing etc. since it gives consistent data not only DX 12 stuff but cpu as well. 4K, 2 1080Ti and a I7 4770K should work well and probably 0 difference in experience with any higher performing processor on the planet. For a single 1080Ti I would recommend a RyZen, for SLI ->Skylake E is probably the better bet, also depending upon price.
 
Indeed...hence I'm happy to sit tight for now. Hell, there are people still rocking Sandy Bridge machines, I'm in no rush ;)
 
Finally got around to doing some benches. CPU at 4.4 though, not sure why as maybe I forgot to set it to 4.5 last time I changed out some stuff. :nag:

Card at +150/+500. Ran without a hitch.

Thought you picked up a second card. Maybe I misunderstood your other post in your SLI thread.
 
Like the OP, I'm also curious to see what a waterblocked/OC'ed 1080Ti can do in 3DMark. While the 1080Ti is promoted as being ever so slightly faster than a Titan X at stock speeds, It seems to lose that distinction when both are properly waterblocked and OC'ed. My Titan XP score for Fire Strike Ultra is 7835.
 
You've got a few MHz on my core speed @2114 vs my 2076
But I've got a few on you memory-wise with 1507 to your 1386mhz

Your GPU score was 8078 to my 7647

My cpu is pushing a slightly better 14859 to your 13103, but it still yields a lower overall score

Still on the first day of pushing mine, might get a little closer if I add a little bit more on the gpu. I'm waiting for my aquaero (enroute from Deutschland) to get my fans in check, currently running of the pwm signal from the cpu fan header.

Full loop is xspc RX240 (56mm thick 2x120) rad > EK titanXP block, > xspc RX360 (56mm thick 3x120) > xspc raytstorm > ddc res

First loop since the LGA1366 days. Feels good to be back. AIO was so half-assed.

I thought these cards would clock as high as possible until they hit either the temp limit or power limit (90*C and 120%). But that's not what I am seeing.

Can someone explain how these cards clock up / down?

The cooler the core runs, the higher it'll be able to boost. With boost 3.0, the card will either drop frequency or drop voltage to help keep the core temps down....this happens about every 10c or so. I've seen it at work with core temps as low as 15c (coolant temps at -6c)....

The best way to overclock pascal is to learn where those "layers" are at for your GPU, and avoid them at all costs.

Nice results... since I'm running on a very similar rig to yours, how'd you get 'em? I'm maxing out around 9,300.
