Nvidia has released their GeForce Game Ready Driver 378.92 - WHQL. This driver has optimizations for Mass Effect: Andromeda and Rock Band VR. Dolby Vision support for games was added also. Mass Effect: Andromeda received a SLi profile and the SLi profiles for Dead Rising 4 and Deus Ex: Breach were updated. Halo Wars 2 lost it's recommendation for a 3D Vision profile, but Dreadnought received a 3D vision compatibility mode recommendation.

The list of issues is pretty substantial. Here are a few of the Win10 issues.

    • [GeForce GTX 1080 Ti][Mass Effect: Andromeda]: Random memory errors occur when playing the game. [1887520]
    • [GeForce Experience]: Driver installation fails when attempting to perform a driver overinstall. Workaround is to perform a clean install.
    • [SLI][GeForce GTX 1080][Battlefield 1 XP1]: With SLI enabled, corruption appears in the game when switching between full-screen and windowed mode. [1889162]
    • [GeForce GTX 1080 Ti][Sid Meirie's Civilization VI][G-Sync/SLI/DirectX 12]: Black corruption appears while entering the in-game menu afte skippingthe cutscene. [200283322]
    • [GeForce GTX Titan X][Ansel][Ghost Recon Wild lands]: With FXAA enabled from the NVIDIA Control Panel, the application crashes when enabling the in-game Ansel UI. [200283194]
    • Error code 43 appears in the Device Manager after installing the driver with HDMI display connected. [200283276]
    • [GM204, Tom Clancy's The Division Survival DLC] Game crashes pointing to ntdll.dll when changed to full-screen and to windowed full-screen. [200252894]
    • [SLI] Street Fighter V performance drop (pause and play) observed when the game is played at 4K resolution with SLI enabled. [200172046]

I wonder if the new audio driver fixes the problem that have using the line in on the monitors built in speakers.

I currently disable the audio over HDMI, so I can use the line in on the monitors and set them up as left and right speakers. Problem is after sleep, there's no sound so I have to go back to Nvidia HD panel, enable & disable HDMI audio to get the Line In sound to work again.

Alternatively, if the drivers allowed you to set up your monitors' built in speakers as surround sound for 2 or 3 speaker systems that would be great.

Thanks, I'm not worried about telemetry, but I don't shadowplay or any of that stuff so no use having it running in the background taking up resources.

You are welcome and you should worry a bit more about what they collect:

I've been having issues with the last few updates, they would all fail, regardless if I did a clean, express, or custom install.
This one installed just fine with express.

Who the fuck in Nvidia or any company to for that matter thinks this is a acceptable practice? No one has any fucking right to give out my personal information to a unknown source. This is not how you treat a customer. We give you money for a product you offer and that's it. It does not give your freedom to sell our information.

  • Well, shit.

Was looking forward to playing tomorrow. :(

Don't worry the game plays fine. I went through the 10 hour trial yesterday; actually got what you can do done in 6 hours but the only issue that I ran in to playing was that when I was on a spaceship the frame rate would drop into the 30's but on the planets and spacestation I could play on I was in the 70's or higher the entire time running the game maxed out on a 1440P monitor with a 1080TI.

The last 2 drivers including this one does not seem to work like it used too. In the previous driver's case, and in this driver, although using DDU to uninstall in safe mode, the whole package completely DOES NOT install properly. The only way to access the experience program is to click on the link installed on the desktop FIRST. Then the sub menu when right clicking the geforce icon in the task bar appears. Even after, I still cannot change any settings for sharing in experience. Now, saying this, it should be noted, this issue also just occurred with the new creators edition of windows, so I am not sure if the OS is the culprit.

All of that being said, the last two drivers and this one more specifically, INCREASED FPS AND STABILITY ALOT WITH GAME MODE! I am talking about 10-25 MORE FPS with game mode enabled in almost every game including the win store game Forza Horizon. Those numbers are not 1080p frames but ADDITIONAL 4K frames! THATS QUITE A BOOST FROM DRIVERS AND OS GAME MODE!

With my 6800k @ 4.5ghz, quad channel 16GB DDR4 @ 3400mhz, and 1080 EVGA FTW GTX card (also OCed to a very stable 2139 and 11000mhz), these results are IN GAME!! Not bench-marking on timespy for example. I am very happy and NOW RUN FH3 every option Ultra settings and instead of 4x MSAA I NOW GET 8x MSAA with FXAA on! And fps vary from 59-74 fps! Those are high and lows and obviously vsyncing to 60 fps makes my samsung series 6 4k HDR premium curved display magical with all of the popping crisp colrful visuals displayed with 100% vibrance and a few picture metrics set to what I consider closer to reality lighting and sharpness. Could not be any happier, save for them fixing the experience that I rarely use anyways! GAME MODE + this driver = Best visual fidelity and performance so far!

wil not even try it, had to revert to the 378.66 after the previous latest oh-so-much-improved driver introduced some graphic glitches in resident evil 7, maybe next month.

Ouch, I have two setups using monitor audio over HDMI, and none have had this issue. Is it possible it is a monitor problem? I had a Displayport detection problem that went away with a new monitor.

And it doesnt help that reviewers, including this site, turn a blind eye to this and keep hyping their crap.

Or the blind fanbois, whom would cover their ears and sing loudly lalala.

Still this is completely unethical. Are there no laws to protect consumers from companies doing this? This shit makes me want to go AMD even tho their products can't compete. AMD probably does it also so it doesn't matter anyway.

Almost every company stores and distributes your personal information. It's usually in the EULA that no one reads but agrees to. The most valuable commodity in the world right now is information and almost every company is trying its hardest to collect much as possible.

Tried this driver, but it caused ME:A to crash every time I tried to open the door, which has locked, at the end of the ME:A trial.

I had to use DDU and instal the previous drivers.
