1080ti Pre-order, Retail, and AIB availability watch

SO..... can we expect any of the AIB custom cooler/PCB models to be available on the 10th, or will it be all FE's? I still am not clear on what we can expect to be available this Friday.

Probably going to have to wait and see, but I wish they would make an official statement of if it will actually release friday.

I gotta see an OC comparison but the Nvidia edition is looking sweeter and sweeter. Whatever gets me 2ghz gpu clocks :)

My guess is they will release the FE's so people buy all of those then allow the others to release custom cards.

If they are anything like the previous GTX 1080's, the non-reference cards may have considerably beefier VRM implementations. In the past, there was less variance on this but now this has me considering patience more than I'd like.

it appears the 1080ti has more advance power delivery than the Titan Pascal so I'm curious.

Patience...it is quite painful!

There have been issues with the 1070 and 1080 and vive and displayport

FWIW Vive uses HDMI, the DP connector is just a built in DP to HDMI dongle. The dongle of early units has buggy firmware. 1070/1080 were first GPUs support DP1.4(?) I forget exactly, but that exposed bug in firmware. Hard to update those build-in dongles so new Vives have fixed firmware and 'fixed' drivers just detect buggy firmware and WAR issue. There is no issue at this point unless you have an older Vive and want to run some older driver... but why would anyone want to do that? :p

Does anyone have tips for locating store pages for new items as soon as they're available? I've been online for some collectible pre-order madness before, and sometimes the item is sold out before the store's search index has been updated to include the item page. The trick there is some other page that lists new items as they arrive, or even just guessing item numbers.

Looks like Nvidia is starting to charge people's credit cards for the preorder 1080 Ti FE's.

My AMEX was just charged by Digital River, so I'm assuming the FE preorder will ship today.

So, I guess it's safe to do some simple addition and say this would be a 50-55% upgrade from my 980ti? Sounds like a decent upgrade, then. I'll have to wait a bit since my dog had to have some emergency surgery the other day (he's fine now ), but I'm definitely going to be looking at the AIB options in a few months.

I'm patiently waiting for them to go back on sale somewhere. I plan to get a Founders Edition and slap my eVGA 1070/1080 Hybrid AIO cooler on it.

I may very well purchase a pair of the first 1080Ti's I can find.

My preorder from NVidia site is just showing processing. Anyone else getting anything different or received a shipping confirmation email? These reviews are making me very impatient! :D

Definitely going to wait for AIB solutions. The review makes it look like some better cooling will allow for some decent OCing to be done.

I haven't generally had the best luck overclocking GPUs since going to SLI or Crossfire based systems. Therefore I rarely worry about factory overclocked or AIB cards. I'd often rather get stuck with a reference board on launch day than wait a month or more for an AIB card that may not run overclocked in SLI.

Lucky bastard. My order is stocked at 'received'.... Oh wait.... It's processing! And my credit card for charged! It rarely happens that I'm so happy being charged something

They charged me on the 2nd when I placed the order. No news since but being in Europe I'm not sure if I can expect shipping tomorrow or what.

I've had mixed results with pre-orders and being charged right off the bat. Fucking EA grabbed the cash right away when I pre-ordered Mass Effect Andromeda. Optics Planet didn't charge me for my CZ Scorpion EVO S1 922r SBR kit until it shipped. I never look at the billing / payment as an indicator of anything given what I've seen.

Tip: For those of you looking to O/C the new 1080Ti on water, EK's Titan X Pascal water blocks are fully compatible with the 1080Ti. This probably holds true with any brand of waterblock so long as it's Nvidia's reference 1080Ti board design which is identical in layout to the Titan X Pascal. I expect that with the number of new buyers picking up the 1080Ti that waterblock availability will become scarce for a few months...

I ordered my waterblock on the same day I pre-ordered the 1080ti...Already have the block in hand, now I just need some patience.

Still now showing up on new egg. Perhaps I just need to drive to microcenter tomorrow morning...

They were pretty orderly for the 1080. The line formed before they opened, and at my location they came out and gave everyone a piece of paper guaranteeing a particular card model. From there you could go to breakfast or whatever, then just go in to get it after they opened.

Attention Kansas City. I talked to guys back in the computer components area just 20 minutes ago. The Kansas City Microcenter will NOT ... will NOT have cards tomorrow. They do expect to have them the following week they were told. Not sure if this is for all the stores or what. I left a Facebook posting on Microcenter yesterday asking for comment on availability for the 10th and they didn't answer.

This sucks. Thought for sure I could go get one tomorrow.

What time does newegg stock new cards usually? Could it be any random time in the next 24 hours or do they have a pattern?

I've rarely seen Microcenter or Fry's actually have high end GPUs on launch day.

Blah.. oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky at Frys in a couple (few) weeks.. I spent a lot of time watching nowinstock for my 1080 and ended up nabbing one randomly at Frys.. Maybe it'll happen again.

I will be checking the DFW area tomorrow to see if there are any in stock.

Something tells me you'll need water cooling to run at 2GHz+ consistently. With my 1080FE, the best I could get the card to sustain was maybe 1850 on the stock cooling solution. With water cooling, it will run at 2075 for longer than I can stand to play games.

As I recall, this is consistent with all the reviews from shortly after the 1080's release.
