Resident Evil 7 VR is "exclusive to PlayStation VR" for a year

Might be old news for some.

Was about to buy RE7 for the PC VR experience since the game was built with VR in mind. That was until I happened to look up reviews for the PC VR and found it is locked for 12 months. PSVR gets the exclusive VR experience.

Guess I will put this one on the back burner. Shame since it is getting pretty good reviews. :(

As someone who has played Resident Evil 7 in VR I can tell you it's not worth it at all. If you want the VR experience, you are going to sacrifice graphics and controls. The graphics are a large downgrade (and will be no different than Oculus/Vive) and the controls are just frustrating doing 90 degree turns all the time. I would rather just play it with better graphics. I say if you want to play it then play it, and when VR comes to PC a year from now then you will have a excuse to replay it. I just jumped on the cdkeys.com deal for RE7 for $32.

Good to know! I was hoping the PC VR would maintain the higher quality textures as opposed to PSVR. Guess we will know in 12 months unless someone figures out an unlock.

Thanks. Was just batting around the crazy idea to pick up a PSVR with RE7 today.

Thanks. I'm glad I helped talk you out of it. I haven't touched my PSVR in weeks and playing RE7 on it was not enjoyable at all. Also, I have a pretty strong constitution but there were time it made me kinda dizzy too. Buying the PSVR just for RE7 would not have been a good idea. It's a great device, but if I could go back in time I would have waited until at least Ace Combat 7 came out on PSVR.

To be fair to your point about degraded graphics, though, I have a PS4 Pro. But the low FOV of the game on a TV was making me sick by itself, which doesn't inspire much confidence for VR. The turning in this game is also kind of frustrating. I'm going with my original plan and waiting for GT Sport.

I have a PS4 Pro as well and decided on PC b/c I played the demo on PC and it ran great as well as have a in-game FOV slider which maxes out at 90 degrees which is good enough. I'd prefer 100, but 90 is fine. Also, the PC port appears to be incredibly solid; have not had one problem yet.

Doing 90 degree turns all the time? I use the smooth control setting and never had to use the 90 degree turns. RE7 is fine on PSVR on PS4 Pro and actually is the ideal way to play it if you want to play it right now...

We'll just agree to disagree. I tried both and the graphical downgrades along with the feeling I got while playing it like that weren't worth it to me.

It has been over a year since release and nothing about PC VR. PC version must of been to.much if a flop in their eyes to do it.

I bought this game, I was not able to play it, very boring
