I've got my Desktop (brand new build) upstairs, which I've covered in the 'System Builder' thread... got kind of tired of the background, so I swapped it to the snorkel image.... very nice and serene blue.

Yesterday I was watching my X-Files blu-rays downstairs and decided to flip open my laptop that's always on the coffee table & check my e-mail. Its sharing a Network with the Desktop, but is a 4 year old HP that I still love to use. It comes on, and I see its background matches the one on my Desktop..... except I didn't change it. It should still be the bridge picture.... wtf?

If you've signed in to the same account, the background will sync

Whats more annoying is that i use teamviewer to access my home PC quite a bit(on it at the moment), it removed the desktop background. Every now and again i'll lose my backgrounds on both laptop and my desktop as teamviewer doesn't seem to always put the background back.

ah the connected world. wait until your toaster makes you toast just because you thought about it..

But that won't happen because you forgot to actually authorize the toaster to purchase a bread delivery by drone for you since you ate the last of it for breakfast the day before, you bonehead. :D

I think this would be the point of serious concern, if your toast comes out with this on it:

Wait til you format your stuff and do a clean install and after the second reboot, you will have your background back like magics...

Bring back malware and viruses too?

If you have multiple computers signed in to the same Microsoft Account, it will sync some stuff between them by default. You can control this behavior. In Windows 10 it's in Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings. Toggle the wallpaper setting for any devices you don't want to sync.

It's cute that this thread has been active a day and nobody even thought to bring this up, and instead just generically bashed Microsoft.
