Hey everyone,

Looking for an old socket 939 motherboard.

If anyone has a DFI Lanparty nf4 Ultra-D (seen below) I would love you.

PM me if you have one!

Might have one in my daughter's old computer.
I may also have the box for it.

Don't remember what CPU is in it.

It hasn't even been powered up in years. From what I remember, the HD crashed and she said she'd rather
have a laptop than to have it repaired. It's been sitting in the corner of her room for many years.

PM me an offer and I'll power it up to test it and ask her if she wants to part with it.

ETA: Box says DFI Lan Party UT 250GB Socket 754, CPU unknown right now.
I know I also had the Ultra-D. Don't remember where it went.

I have a couple of DFI LanParty s939 boards. I'll have to check which versions I have.

Until then.........Bump for the cause! ;)

Are you only interested in that board? I have an MSI 939 board with an opteron CPU in the socket, I can get more specs if interested but it seems like a good board has Sata ports and PCIe. I have a good bit a older ram I could throw in too.

Any news about those boards?

Thanks for the nostalgia bumps guys :)

Actually, I'll go look right now, since you reminded me! :p

Just looked, and yep, it is the NF4 Ultra-D with the big jumpers to enable SLi
One thing though, the board I have has 8 SATA ports?

However, like many many of the DFI LanParty motherboards, the northbridge fan went bad. I have a tall finned fanless heatsink on the northbridge now.

I also have the I/O plate, sound card module, and a couple of the original yellow SATA cables.

If your interested, shoot me a PM.

Awesome connection. Legendary mobo for it's time.

I was actually still running on a DFI P35 mobo til earlier this year. :pompous:

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update, I decided I will try and repair my old DFI Lanparty before buying a new one. Right now it turns on but does not POST, all diagnostic LEDs remain lit.

It has a couple of visibly bad capacitors which I will replace and see if I can get it running.

If that fails then I will be back to try and pick up a used one.

Thanks!

Hey Stinger,

Which heatsink did you install on the NB? My fan is also making that whining noise so I would like to replace it. I measured the holes and they seem to be ~52mm apart, does not seem like a standard size.

I know in the past people used the Evercool VC-RE, unfortunately I can't seem to find any of those in stock anymore.

Thanks!

I might have an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe in the closet back at my folk's home. Would that work?

If not, I do have a Thermalright HR-05 for the northbridge in case you want to ditch the fan. Its brand new and never used.

I got the heatsink off of an Asus board if I recall correctly.

Now that is a hell of a northbridge heat sink!!!!!! I remember them from back in the day!!! :woot:

Hey DTN,

I am interested in the HR-05, do you have the SLI or non SLI version? Just wondering about fitment with the GPU. If I remember the non SLI version you need to use the lower slot but the SLI version you can use the top?

I believe that's correct. The SLi version has an offset to the cooler to clear the top PCIe slot.

I actually have that style on another DFI board that the fan took a big crap on. :p

Small update here, the repair on my DFI board was not successful so I am still in the market for a replacement!

bump!

I've got one that has been kicking around in my garage for years with a dual core Opteron and a single stick of Corsair ram. It would have to be shipped from NZ though, PM if you are interested.

I know I have at least 1 if not 2. I'll check tomorrow what I have and if I have time, check boot ability.

I have the NF3 UD with original box and cables, probably manual and backplate if I look, plus a record setting opteron 165 dual core that did 2.82ghz on a Scythe Ninja, with an X800XT either laying around for a very good offer or a wicked old school box... Have a think on it. X800s are the fastest win98 card ever xD

Same shit as Deimos - down here in the little land down under.

If Nevalite has no interest in the CPU and VGA, I most certainly do.

Hey everyone,

I am still in the market for this board, trying to revive an old PC of mine. Let me know if you have one!

Thanks

I have an ASUS A8N32 SLI, Athlon 64 X2 4200+w/Zalman Cooler, Cosair 4GB DDR, and GPU

I think I have the board that you are looking for new in the box. Trick is, I have to remember to look for it after work today! Hopefully, more info to come.

i think i have the ASUS A8N32 SLI, i think it needs 1 cap replaced, i also have another similar Asus 939, i also have CPU and compatible DDR1 ECC 2gb modules (8gb of ram) and a few extra modules as well.

I sent you a PM. I have that exact model with some nice RAM and CPU to go with if needed.

Bump for the a8n32-sli I think I got my opteron 165 to 2.6ghz on that board. Man that brings back memories!

I found my Opty 165 at the bottom of my closet recently, with bent pins, and snagged a a8n32-sli off ebay. Straightened out all the pins and now it sits in the socket fine. I'm excited to see if it will post. Need to dig deeper and find my old HSF. Might be willing to part with it if all goes well, I have enough crap already.

He's clearly looking for the nf4 UltraD, which your board is absolutely not. Your board is a NF3 and thusly has no PCI Express slots.
