Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 $ 95.60 on Amazon.com

Someone else told me that they bought these from AMAZON around for the same price, but every time Ive looked the price was higher. Best i found was $139.99

When was the last time you checked the $95.60 price?

Couple years ago i paid $169 for these and thought they were a bargain. Possibly my favorite headphone when paired with fiio e10 - bass boost on.

Great deal if it comes back up as $95, but shows 199 for me right now, I have the DT770 Pros 250, and was thinking about picking these up as backups for the price.

Either are great to pick up and toss a ModMic on, WAY better than even "highend" gaming headsets. Not only do I get better sound, but I always get comments asking what Mic I use because I come through so clear on TS.

beyer's MMX 300 is either a DT 770 or 880, i'm guessing 880 from the small amount of time i had with it, with a ridiculously good microphone attached. expensive but it's the best all-in-one by far. but yeah, almost all gaming headsets are terrible. the few good ones are the ones from audiotechnica and the MMX 300. i've heard bad things about the sennheiser gameones/zeros.

The MMX300 are also $250. $95 for the DT990s and $40 for a modmic is a pretty big price gap. Also don't think the MMX 300 has a removable mic either.

You do realize this was right around black friday and it lasted only few hours if i remember correctly. I doubt you're going to find them that cheap any time soon.

I have to say DT990's became my favorite pair of open cans for gaming.

the MMX 300 is $220. the 990s aren't an alternative to the MMX 300, they're open. 880s are significantly more expensive than 990s, too. also the mic on the MMX 300 is, iirc, significantly better than the mod mic.

The MMX 300 is closed, the DT880 are semi open, and the 990s tend to be preferred by most in games because of it being heavier bass weighted. What the 880s have to do with anything I don't know, I have never seen anyone claim they are 880s, as the 880s are semi open, not closed like the MMX 300, and also have a a different response chart, the 880s are also the same price as the 990s, they both can be had every day for $199. And $220 is still WAY more than $95 + $40, I don't see how you don't get that, had this deal still been active.

The 880s are not better than the 990s, nor are either better than the 770s, choice for them comes down to taste, the 990s are popular with gaming because of having great bass, the 880s are loved because of being very flat etc etc.

look at my signature. i'm aware of what the 990s are. you cannot compare cost between the MMX 300 and the 990s because they suit two entirely different use-cases. if you need closed it doesn't matter how much the 990s cost because they're open. i've used my 990s extensively and i looked at the 770, 880, and 990 frequency response graphs on headphone.com and based my judgment off of that. they don't sound like they have way more bass than the 990 which the 770 do, which is why i said they probably sound closer to the 880. 990s are preferred in games, at least from a competitive standpoint, because of their huge soundstage and great imaging, the bass is more of a bonus if you want it but bass isn't really desirable for competitive gaming as it can drown out footsteps and whatnot. anyway, no reason to continue this.
