I thought this was an incredible deal. I've been looking for a Thinkpad for a few months now. On their official website if you spec out a computer that equals this they are asking around 1,285 dollars. And I don't even see this particular model with the disc drive on their site at all. So I don't know where this model or deal came from but it seems very good to me.

It's downgraded (depending on your point of view ;)) with W7 Pro preinstalled since W10 Pro OEM comes with downgrade rights.

You can re-upgrade it back to W10 Pro IIRC
 
spec wise its ok. But the thinkpad E-series, at least in my experience, sucks. I had an edge E540 for all of a month with an i7 4702. I needed the power of an i7, but the feel of the machine was chintzy and to this day that was the worst touchpad Ive ever used.
 
I bought the e570 with better specs for $530.

And it was fully loaded. And it got sent back. The quality just wasn't as good as I wanted.

Crap I didn't realize it was the E line. I agree they look flimsy compared to the normal thinkpads. Well then I guess I will have to return this when it comes. It did seem a little too good to be true.

Man that's too bad. The specs do seem pretty good for the price and now that it's already on its way I almost just want to see if I can live with it. I mean I guess I don't mind if it not top spec IBM quality as long as it works ok.

Really I mostly just watch youtube on my laptop and so an IPS screen is what I want the most along with good build quality and utility which is why I like IBM. An i7 would be nice but not necessary an i5 would be fine and I don't need a graphics card but if I can get one that's always a bonus.

FYI, it hasn't been IBM for a number of years, Lenovo bought the personal computing business from IBM including the Thinkpad brand. The logo also went from IBM Thinkpad to just Thinkpad.

Thinkpads are better built than some other brands, but they are nowhere the same as when they were actual IBM laptops.
