fuuuuck, I've been dreaming of that motherboard for a while now. But with Zen so close.... ugh. must refrain.
 
Want this so bad just don't know if I really need 6 cores over the z270 MSI M7 board I was looking to get..
 
overpriced even at the sale price.

performance would be very similar (if not identical) with a $150 MSI board.

As such - those are some expensive LEDs.
 
at first i look and go meh a 300 dollar mobo but then i look as it and holy fuck thats a sexy motherboard.

That's what I thought. Meh, it's a $330 motherboard... But damn! It's actually pretty sexy looking overall. I am not sure I could justify the cost to replace my MSI X99S Sli Plus that I've been running for a long time. It still runs perfectly now with an E5-2699v4.

im very tempted concidering i have a 5820k sitting on my desk right now. no match for my dual xeons on a sr-x in multicore but might make a solid gaming rig. and if your looking to sell your curent mobo i may aslo be intrested in that.
 
Just ordered this , was going to go with a z270 but for an extra 100 bucks for this monster I was like screw it. This build I want to last me a good 5 years on the CPU any way. Now to save up for a CPU lol..
 
This board is on the same level as the Asus Strix, no pcie switches on either board.
 
I felt the same way but since it doesn't ship for a few weeks and you can return it why not :) if Zen turns out sweet then return if it's not worth it you got a sweet deal on a x99..
 
Super sexy mobo but I don't think I've ever paid that much for one.

Maybe I'm just jaded but I don't see the appeal. Just some slightly fancier styling and LED's everywhere...
 
"Godlike".."Carbon".."Gaming".. "LED's" .. couple hundred dollars more for fancy words and lights.
