I bought myself a P55Wv6-PC3D because it was on sale for $1,055.

Most laptops have atrocious thermal paste jobs and you can wring lower temps out of them by remedying this.

However, since the machine is brand-new I'd prefer not to void the warranty, hence my question.

There are stickers covering certain, but not all screw holes on the bottom of the machine. No obvious "Opening voids warranty" sticker is visible, though I wonder if such things are hidden inside. Google hasn't been helpful either aside from a single post about the P35X series to which I quote: "Repasting do not void the warranty; when doing so,you do not remove any sticker "warranty voided if broken", unlike on msi laptops. Beware, there are these stickers on the screws that hold the fans, but you don't need to untight them to repaste the heatsinks."

But, again, this is 2017, and that's also a different laptop model.

Any ideas on whether opening the machine actually voids the warranty?

Yeah, the idea is don't void your warranty if you want your warranty.

Um...

I'm sorry, but that's really not very helpful, and if it's meant to be funny it just fell flat.

Does opening the machine void the warranty or not? I can't find any information, hence asking here.

Yes, that is why the stickers are there.

One of the reasons I went with an Alienware (Discounts and coupons as well.) I can re-paste and good to go!

yes that will void your warranty. if you want more confirmation, email them.
