I know some of you don't really care for Newegg. And the fact that Vega and the 1080 TI is around the corner. But this is a nice deal after the rebate for this GPU. Credit for the post on Slickdeals goes to annie930ny for posting it.

FWIW I don't think Vega or 1080Ti will budge 1070 prices, just like the 980Ti and Fury didn't make a diff to 970 prices that held steady forever. 1070 is the most popular card so it'll remain stable.

IOW this is probably a good deal and you're unlikely to save by waiting.

My comment about Vega and the 1080 TI was that most are waiting for them to be available. Most of the people I have spoken to them about this are simply holding off to see the results before doing any buying. But for those that are just wanting something now. Then this doesn't seem like too bad of a deal.

Hmmm you could get 2 in SLI for just a tad more than a single 1080.

Lol yeah and have fun with that. Even about 1/3 of AAA games do not support SLI at all or have major issues.

I ordered one of these last night and then changed my mind a few minutes later yet there was no way to cancel the damn thing. Their phone support closes at night and apparently the live chat no longer works after regular hours either. I sent an email and got an auto response saying I would get a reply in 2 to 5 days. Damn Newegg has really gone downhill in customer support. I will just refuse the package if I am here or they will pay to return it if it gets left here.

lmao where are you pulling that random number from? I ran 780's in SLI for a long time and had little issues. Sure there were games here and there that didn't support SLI at launch or in some cases not at all but that number is waaaayyyy off.

Please use some common sense as that was a while back when you had 780 SLI and support has been going downhill ever since then.

And even back in June of this year techpowerup said "There continue to be big AAA game titles (5 out of 16 in our testing) that lack SLI support due to engine limitations, which NVIDIA cannot fix through a driver update. More and more modern game engines come with such caveats, which is why classic AFR frame rendering doesn't have much of a future looking forward."

That is 1/3 of the AAA games they tested right there with no possible support for SLI. That does not even get into the issues that many games have or the lack of support at launch. Why anyone defends multi card setups is beyond me.

I finally installed this thing today and it was dead I guess. The logo on the card lit up but my screen remained black.
